I think what angers me the most about the abandonment of 3.5 by its producers is the really horrible state the monster manuals have been left in both error and format-wise. I spend an inordinate amount of time checking stats and applying errata. I'm a conscientious GM and don't want to cheat my players by misrepresenting the right stats. Does anyone else find themsleves in the same boat and what are you doing about it?

Due to your name and your post, I now have the mental image of a wizard in robes hanging around in Dallas, puttering about, saying things like "Stay a while, I get visitors so seldom these days." and I can't get it out of my head.

Perfect. :)

I'd say it's up to the individual personality of the druid, unless the rules of the druid's order should forbid it. Sometimes we forget that most religious orders have rules.

Also, inns are not at all like modern hotels. A druid staying at an inn who wanted to stay in touch with nature need only take a room with lots of windows and open them, preferably from the top story. He might even cast spells that would allow him to "naturalize" the room.

A druid might have little concern for the care of the room. Here is a good chance for a little role play with an angry innkeeper too. The druid's animal companion would leave droppings and rain on the floor from the open windows wouldn't be welcomed either.

Indoors or outdoors, nature is where you see it.

@WizardinTexas - Hey, nice web site. I especially like the EPLvsEL calculator for 3.5 that you use. Thanks, hope you don't mind if I visit your site once in a while.

Please do, I like visitors. :)

Can anyone help?

I have some "flat" carts on my site, nothing 3D though: AWizardInDallas.com.

It does indeed. I've been buying a lot of great 3.0 and 3.5 dirt cheep from eBay.

Please forgive me for linking this topic over to my website. The forum controls just wouldn't let me present what I have to say in the format I needed. At any rate I have posted my take on the grappling rules in D&D 3.5 on my site. I've read the new grapple rules and I think they take away from the simulative aspects of hand-to-hand combat, wresting, grappling or whatever you want to call it.

I'm posting these as a public service and to maybe help advance the pathfinder RPG. Thanks!

I don't think the Pathfinder RPG needs a new core race. I can think of several good choices though. I wouldn't go with any existing race though. That would be just predictable. Although mongrelmen or a changeling race would be interesting.

It would be excellent to see an original intelligent reptilian race, one not paterned after dinosaurs, dragons or an existing reptilian monster. Alternatively an entirely alien race, like Fraal, Weren, T'sa, or Sesheyan would be sort of cool too.

If you do a races book, would you be so kind as to consider an aging reference for humanoid monsters? I know I can play a goblin rogue straight out atm but I want to know his starting age and what not?

I second this!

Also we all have our preferences. Your game world might favor humans or you may not prefer minotaurs in your game but others might. What we ultimately need to have is a good set of uniform racial options that are not scattered in ten books.

Many of the opinions on this topic seem to consider only player characters. Let's not forget about the cool villians game masters could create with a good set of racial options, which is difficult to do at present without a lot of work and interpretation. This makes the prospect of having the option beneficial for even a human-centered world and you can ignore whatever races don't suit you.

The rules for aerial and underwater combat in 3.5 have shrunk down to almost nothing useful. Please consider adding rules for aerial and underwater combat. Also, by no means am I suggesting that lists of how spells should be modified in either environment as has been done in prior editions, but some better guidelines would definately be most welcomed!

I would like to see several monster races receive a core treatment in the new rules. Logically it makes sense that some members of the most populous and common monster races would eventually rise above their monstrous nature. Here is what I would like to see in order of preference:

Monsters: Orc, Goblin, Kobold, Gnoll, Hobgoblin, Lizardman, Bugbear, Troglodyte, Doppleganger/Changling

I would also like to see the main subraces receive core treatment. In order of preference here are those, with my own naming convention:

Dwarf: Deep, Mountain, Hill, Vile
Elf: High, Wood, Water, Dark
Gnome: Stone, Tree, Deep, Wicked

I usually dislike allowing giant races but if I have to choose here's what I'd like to see:

Giant: Ogre, Troll, Hill, Stone, Half-Fire, Half-Frost

Finally, I'd like to see the following weird races, with the names changed to protect the innocent:

Weird: Pixie, Satyr, Gargoyle, Githyani, Githzani, Illithoid, Half-Demon, Half-Angel

This is what I’ll be doing in my own game world regardless of what happens. :)

Paizo just became my number one game company and a maybe even a friend for life, which are both firsts! This is so pleasantly unexpected that I hardly know what to say except...Thank God!

I have been working diligently, by myself, on a database for running D&D for many months now and was sure that 4E would ruin any chance I might have of sharing my work with the gaming community. I was sure, until this very night, that I was destined to be it's only user.

I'm so very pleased with Paizo's decision to improve on the current game that I've decided to keep working on my database and integrate the Pathfinder RPG rules into my system to see how well they fit into the program. One of the things that Wizards of the Coast has and will continue to fail to do is to provide much needed quality software for running D&D games.

Once again, thanks Paizo!

Please share any conversion resources you might know about here?

I'm interested in adding some material from 2E that was cut from 3E, particularly monsters and spells (magic items too but not so much...).

I'm also interested in reproducing all of the current 3E monsters in the updated monster format. I have the entire MMI converted but could use some any short cuts with the rest.

Thanks!

I have been running a Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde-based campaign for several months. The campaign has gone way beyond the scope of the module material and makes for some interesting reading. Please accept my invitation to take a look around: AWizardInDallas.com.
