Option 4. Troy goes down in a blaze of glory in the first decent fight. Nice ending, but kinda permenant…

What do you guys (particularly Vendle) think?

As for a replacement player, I’m still open to the idea of Twiceborn’s friend, or should I throw the slot open to the good folk here on the paizo boards?

Thanks for considering allowing my friend to come on board as a replacement player. I asked him if he'd be interested, but unfortunately, he just won't be able to spare the time... he has just inherited a business and is deep in wedding preparations, so he has other things on his mind right now.

As for options with regards to Troy... I'm more partial to options 1 and 2. For option 2, perhaps Troy comes down with a real bad case of food poisoning from poultry that has been mishandled by the inn chef, which will incapacitate him for the next few days? Or perhaps, having listened to the conversation with the Inquisitor, he gets cold feet and decides he does not want to get involved with something that will put him at odds with the Artonites?. I don't know... just throwing out...

I talked to Dirk Gently and he seemed intersested in this campaign and i would agree with opion 2 also.

Hello i am Awed, well my friends think of me as odd,but the name is Awed, nice to meet you. i am not sarcastic all the time, only sometimes.

I have the book, it has 2 new classes( Archivist and Drad Necromancer and other prestige classes. They have monsters, some spells and 2 domains, Feats, I am not good at explaining things,but it is a handy book to have

All i can tell you is that if the spell isn't prepared then you can't cast it.

Would be good to ask Gosia:

- what does she know of the Dimwood forest (i.e. dangerous occupants).
- did the she know the children who have gone missing/been killed?
- did they visit the dimwood or nearby frequently, (or is it more likely they were kidnapped and brought there)?
- was it Gosia that found the bodies, or someone else?
- can we search her house?
- does she have any suspicions/knowledge on who killed the children?

Would be good to ask the inquisitor or guards:

- the names of all the children missing/dead (and who their parents are)?
- what evidence has been brought against Gosia?
- what was the likely cause of death and were the injuries sustained from weapons, or something else?

There're probably some more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Those are good questions, i can't really think of any right now.

I think the D&D alignment system is too simplistic and flawed to apply to the real world, and so I don't ascribe any alignment to myself.

If anyone is Confused of why Jirkin is acting werid, it is because when he is in the jail cell it reminded him of when he was locked up when the Necromancer took him away, so he stayed in a dirty old cell. One question: how did you start your campign? A rip-off of a resident evil game, where each ps controls an important character, like leon and etc; or you created your own "version"?

I want to know how did it go b/c I was thinking about doing it, dming a RE game, but wanted to know if who'd done it had any troubles and how was it.

IT ok to do you just have to have the right books i guess... the only one i have which is good is the "Resident Evil Archives umbrella's virus uncover" it shows you all the monster from RE0.1,2,3,code veronica,sadly not 4. I made my own version, but put it in Raccon City of course, They started off in a bar( because i couldn't think of anything else when they heard on the TV of the Zombie attack( Sanity is a good thing to have in this CAmpaing, well for the DM that is.) The only troubles i had was what happens when the PC gets bitten by a Zombies, thankful i was helped alot in this thread and i thank everyone for the advise. and another problem was be careful whop your PCs are also character in my last campaigin i had a dieittant(Sorry i spelled it wrong, i don't have the book with my now who has never used a gun before, a military guy and a smart hero who was a tech geek and found out later that he could use a handgun, well its also good because the PCs are able to role play. If you want to start a RE4 campaign, should should play the game to see what your PCs should be up againist, well that would go for all the REs

Try the savage bard variant from Unearthed Arcana, but even if you don't like that, I see no problem. Just need others. Where are they?

AWED - playing Jirken Faluen the Tenth, a half elven wizard
Ash Walker - playing Laithe Greycoat, a human Karandic druid (shapeshifter)
Vendle - playing Troy Kamgul, a human Karandic rogue and aspiring warrior
Twiceborn - playing Keildrithe Oldsun, human Karandic bard

Arctaris, if you're still interested, I havent heard back from the other guy, so the last slot is yours if you want it. I know you're busy at the moment, if you come in a little late that's cool, I should be able to work your character in almost straight away.

I'm away for the weekend, so I'll be aiming to start the game thread on Monday or Tuesday. I'll try to give out your bonus feats before then.

It would be cool if everyone could create an alias to their account with their character name and choose an appropriate avatar for when we start the game.

OK, thanks everyone for getting character info to me so far.

We have four confirmed players - welcome to the Age of Darkness AWED, Ash Walker, Vendle and TwiceBorn.

We have one slot left, and both Michael Griffith and Arctaris have expressed interest. Arctaris, Michael posted a little before you did, so to be fair I'll give him a day or two to let me know if he wants in, otherwise the slot is yours (if you're cool with not playing a kobold).

We should be ready to start in a couple of days. It's not required that your characters know each other before the game starts, but could be useful if some or all of them do - feel free to work this out amongst yourselves here, or seek advice from me.

Now, just to be clear, I'm planning to make fairly extensive use of material from Dungeon Magazine in this game, probably mainly stuff from before Issue 100. I don't mind if some of you guys have access to Dungeon as long as you can put aside any metagame knowledge you may have to enjoy the game - but I would prefer to know if you read Dungeon - that cool?

Just recently, now that I'm graduating college in a few weeks, I'm realizing what my parents were worried about when I said that I wanted to go in for art. A huge investment of money with very little immediately practical payoff. I would never regret doing this. But I see now, with reality knocking at the door, why they had wanted me to pursue teaching or architecture or law school or what have you and have art as a side thing.

I wanted to go for it but my parent said the same thing take it as a side thing Same here, My sis tried to do it, but she didn't get any good job or found none, she is now trying to get a teaching degree and keeps hearing my parents say "I told you so."

I got the 3e PHB when I was but a wee young'un (okay, I was ten or so), but I didn't actually learn how to play until a couple of years later, when I was taught how to play by Dirk Gently's stepfather. I had tried too teach myself, but my pre-teen brain couldn't wrap around the whole concept of skill checks (kind of a random thing to have a hard time with, but OK...)

Dirk and Mr. Shiny tought me, even though i still didn't get it ( needed help with character classes, skill points, multi classing(big mistakes)) Finally one day i understood.

- A group of PCs (a warlock, a ranger, and a paladin) once tried to shrink a dragon with a scroll of Reduce Monster.

*spoiler warning*

-In the AoW adventure 'Encounte at Blackwall Keep' in the lizardfolk lair, a PC fighting a harpy jumped, grabbed its legs, and dragged it down, rather than using ranged attacks to defeat it.

That also happened with a barbarian/wisard with just a dagger and a ranger, but the ranger left because the game was boring to him beacuse we were fighting a dragon.
