Hi! I bought this on Pathfinder Nexus but I don't seem to be able to download the PDF from the Paizo website. Anyone else having this issue?

Yes, for this and the Monster CoreI opened a ticket with Demiplane and they advised that they were “currently waiting for Paizo to make those products available for the Paizo Connect feature on their side”.

Hopefully the issue gets sorted soon.

I really hope this is the final cover art...looks amazing!

Can anyone point me in the direction of an authorized outlet for PF2e that offers a ball call (or 2 ;)). I could have sworn the Amazon store had one at some point, but can’t seem to find anything there now.

Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!!

@Aaron - any chance we could get some new, hi-res versions of the Player Core and GM Core covers to spice up our desktops, phones and tablets?

Great stuff! Really happy to see more fiction and looking forward to the relaunch of Pathfinder Tales (or whatever it will be called )

I have experienced this for a LONG time as well. Some changes were made maybe 12-18 months back, and performance improved, but overall, still incredibly slow.

I typically use FF on Windows with uBlock Origins and LastPass as my only plugins. The number of elements uBlock is flagging these days is crazy...over 1K after about 5 minutes o.O !! I've never seen numbers like this on any other site. For reference, when I load the blog using Vivaldi and its built in adblocker, it reports that it's blocked 136 trackers (doubleclick.net) and 136 ads (102 googleleads.g.doubleclick.net and 34 static.doubleclick.net).

I have an older iPad and navigating the blog is pretty much non-functional. It just takes forever to load. No real issues with the forums or pages on the site (at least in my experience).

All this being said, hopefully the site refresh coming soon can address.

Hi, I was curious how people were already able to read the adventure path already. I don't mind waiting but I've been super excited for this adventure for a while lol.

I suspect they were subscribers who got access to the PDF once their order had been shipped.

What? seriously? A AAA videogame, 6 years in development, employing an army of developers is $70 and this is $120?

If you have the PDF, it’s $50 right now. Also, comparing the addressable market of s VTT module to that of a AAA game doesn’t seem to be reasonable, IMHO. If you don’t see the value, there is nothing forcing you to spend the money.

Thanks Aaron, much appreciated. PDF file size is not an issue for me; as others have mentioned, I am much more interested in higher quality/resolution artwork.

Something to include in your inquiries...the current Core Rulebook comes in at 80 MB with the GM Guide coming in at 27 MB...about 107 MB for both. While it's not an exact measure, the new Core books are coming in ~70 MB (per your comments). My hope is that the new books would be of equivalent or better detail/resolution as the current books.

Just want to echo previous comments about the compression used for the pdf - it does not look great on a display.

It's disappointing to see so many jpeg artefacts, right from the cover onwards - there's great artwork here but it's been overzealously compressed, that I feel sorry for the artists. I hoped the individual chapter pdfs would be better, but it is the same issue.

It's below the standard I've come to expect from Paizo, and looks more like a pirated pdf than one I've just paid $20 for. Treasure Vault has a similar number of pages and looks fine. Can this really not be better compressed?

Otherwise, I'm very happy to finally have this and looking forward to trying out all the great content.

Another comment to echo and support this issue; I have also raised a ticket with Customer Service so that they can track it.

Hopefully we will see a "hi res" aka "normal" version released following Gencon.

I really appreciate that you continue to post the videos to YouTube. I’ve never been a huge fan of Twitch and can never seem to be able to make the livestreams.

The more I look at these reveals, the more I start hoping for a Golarian-based version of the old (3e) Draconomicon. Not sure if the market would support it, but I think it would a great way to showcase some of the diferences and changes that Paizo is bringing to PF2e.

As a current owner, I would have little issue paying for an "upgrade" that would reflect the new/updated art in the Monster Core and the time/effort required to add it in.

but there are a laundry list of things people want changed and if we don't manage expectations its likely going to leave a bad taste in people's mouths

I'm not sure where these expectations would come from...??? I didn't have the impression there would be any public polling/playtesting for these releases (though I might have missed it). Paizo has been collecting feedback over the last four years and have indicated they'll be tweaking/adjusting where/if needed.

The crowdfunding page at gameontabletop updated yesterday letting everyone know the prints were being delivered to Paizo's warehouse now. Exciting stuff! Wonder when the store page will go up. Eager to preorder this thing and read more about what's in the Companion Guide, specifically how much content in there will be useful for any campaign.

With the deadline to update shipping addresses being Aug 03, I'd expect them to start fulfilling later in the month/September. Quoting Aaron from another thread:

Yes. Backers should receive products in September. Retail and Paizo Store sales should start around Halloween. The product pages will go up prior to that.

I think that your best bet would be to send an email to Customer Service: customer.service@paizo.com

For those interested, just spotted a full slate of preorders on Gamenerdz, with a target release date of Oct 26, 2022.

Great stuff Aaron! That piece by Will O’Brien from KoL is amazing and the Bullet & Barrel Saloon simply oozes atmosphere. Oh, and of course the descriptions are excellent as well ;)

I love the piece by Ekaterina...really well done. Now if only we could get some wallpapers ;)

Thanks for posting these, Paizo has a crew of artists that put out phenomenal work...keep it up!!

Wallpapers take time for our very busy Art team make, but I do hear some folks want them. (I feel like folks can use the blog images for their phones already.) It is a relatively inexpensive benefit. I'm thinking we should tie them to preorders or subscriptions. Of course as soon as we release them, they become free to everyone on the interwebs, who better to promote our wares than people who preorder or subscribe. What do you think?

I'd be all for that. Appreciate that there is a fine balance that needs to be struck between investing resources in efforts that don't directly link to revenue. This might be an interesting compromise.

An aside, I'd also be willing to pay for hi-res art packs, but appreciate that may be a little trickier to pull off.

I think this is great to see…some titles I had missed! Looking forward to this posts in the future.

It’s great to see you sharing some PF2e content! While I love monsters, I’d much rather see stuff about groups…ie a den of kobolds, a tribe of goblins. Things that one could drop into any number of situations, home brew or otherwise. That being said…not sure “my preferences” would be marketable ;)

I tried to write this blog with more revealing content. Did you like it? Would you like something different? Let us know!

Aaron - would it be possible to get more info on the artists? Similar to the writer blogs you've been doing, I'd LOVE to see something similar from the art team. Even if we could get a list of the artists and where we can find more of their work would be great.

Thank you for confirming this Aaron.

These are digital versions of the print copies, which come with grid lines. I checked (both the PDF and JPG versions) and the grid lines are there.

Perhaps you'd be better off by asking if this is a feature that could be accommodated it future releases? I think it is a good idea, personally. However, as worded, your tone is pretty off putting.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Maybe the increased costs are related to the cover/binding and smaller print runs...not as much a function of page count?

I really like these blogs...great to hear directly from the team(s) that work on the book and get a little of their perspective.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

I think so. Per the comments on the project page, you should be able to order everything (except the exclusive items) from Paizo directly when it is released.

For those interested, the 10% discount is still active.

Per Alex Speidel, there will not be pregens released for the summoner or magus classes:
