Pathfinder Society Scenario #37: The Beggar's Pearl (PFRPG) PDF
Paizo Publishing, LLC
When a thief arrives at the Pathfinder Lodge in Almas bearing stolen artifacts and writings pointing the way to a lost dwarven gallery, you are sent into the rugged Aspodell Mountains to find the famed dwarven explorer last known to be searching for the gallery as well as the gallery itself. Once there you find a tangled web of darklands creatures in the thrall of a charismatic cult leader with ties to the darkest shadows of the First Realm.

This scenario is very different from James MacKenzie’s earlier work with PFS#27 Our Lady of Silver. I think he had the right idea, but a lot got cut out of the heart on this one and it makes it hard to stand on its own. The maps designed for this scenario are wonderful, full of color and detail. The plot however, is disappointing and tedious. The combats in Tiers 1-2 and 3-4 are pretty tame, but at tier 6-7 things start to get interesting. When I played this we finished in two hours at Tier 1-2. When I GMed it we went over four hours at Tier 6-7. Plan accordingly. MacKenzie breathes life into a few of the faction missions, but some still suffer from the walk-into-the-room, pick-up-the-item, lack-of-any-thought-or-challenge we have grown accustomed to being let down by. Campaign setting flavor is scarce. Again, much of what can make this adventure distinctive to Golarion is lost in the backstory that the players never learn about. There is some potential for role-playing, but I think players are going to fall into the dungeon crawl mentality and hack right through the opportunities to make this a memorable adventure.

This scenario has an "add to cart" button, but doesn't look like it's been released yet. It's not actually adding the book to my cart even when I add it but thought it might deserve mentioning.

Same here. I purchased this mod and need to prep it for this weekend but it doesn't appear in my download area either. I think they're working through this though.

Hmm. I thought I flipped all the switches in the correct order, but Ross keeps adjusting the list of switches I need to flip. He'll have to check it out in the morning....
