More detail than most players will ask you for and then some. The Nations of the inner sea and the races sections have so much information to set your head spinning. Good background on religion, organizations, and I was blown away when I saw the forty something pages on the world. A must have for anyone gaming in the world of Golarion.
Just got the actual book in the mail today. Let me say, this hardcover is absolutely gorgeous. The art is equal parts gritty and beautiful. Very flavorful. The cover art is 10 times better looking on the finished book. The binding is solid, yet soft in turning the pages so it doesn't feel like the pages are sticking together in that "new book" way. The gloss finish adds a touch of classy to an already very good product.
Reading through the content, the regional entries are just stunning. The prestige classes are flavorful without being overpowered. The new domains and spells considerably expand on what is available in the SRD and contribute to the crunch of the book without it feeling overpowered in that direction. The various regional feats and traits add options and flavor and feel very rooted in the setting. The section on the Gods really makes the religions feel alive and give plenty of ideas for players to create characters with plenty of connection to the setting.
On the whole, this is probably the best Campaign Setting Product I have ever seen. It is crammed with fluff and still has a healthy dose of flavorful crunch to balance it out. Top rate art, writing, and organization. If you haven't already purchased this book, it is a MUST buy!!!
I've been looking forward to this book for awhile and I enjoyed everything about it, but the section on the planes is by far the best. The structure makes perfect sense without everything being too uniform.
Now I can't wait for the book on the planes.
Since this book was announced I just kept thinking that if it's at least as good as the 3.x Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (I think easily the best supplement made by WotC for third edition), it will easily be worth the price of admission.
I've just spent two hours taking in the depth and scope of the book, and I'd already say it easily surpasses my hopes and expectations.
The Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting is a classic.
