RPG Superstar™ Deadline Looms!

1st Round Ends December 31, 2010 on paizo.com

In a little less than two weeks, the open call for Paizo Publishing’s RPG Superstar contest—the largest and most successful game designer talent search in the industry—ends, and those wishing to submit an entry for consideration have until 2 pm Pacific Time on December 31, 2010 to do so.

"We’re halfway through Round One and the quality of the submissions this year is better than ever," said Sean K Reynolds, Paizo game designer and Superstar judge. "To better help contestants craft their Round One items, this year we decided to publicly discuss why we rejected submissions in prior years. Our goal is to find the best and brightest new designers, and this year is shaping up to be a great one."

Paizo started accepting submissions on December 3 at paizo.com/rpgsuperstar/previous/2011, and will continue to accept submissions until 2 pm Pacific Time on December 31, 2010. The top 32 entries will then be selected and the finalists will be announced on January 18, 2011. Winning entries will be posted on paizo.com for the public to read and critique while the Top 32 designers begin work on their next task, which will be presented to the public for voting. The designers who win the most votes in each round will continue on to subsequent rounds. The ultimate winner will be paid to write one of Paizo’s upcoming Pathfinder Modules, and the other top 4 designers will be paid to write scenarios for the Pathfinder Society, Paizo’s worldwide organized play program for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

Specifics for each challenge will be announced as each round begins. The winner of RPG Superstar 2011 will be announced on March 22, 2011. Complete rules and a submission form are available at paizo.com/rpgsuperstar/previous/2011.
