The Story Behind the New paizo.com Store
Welcome to the new paizo.com e-store. Within this site you will find pretty much anything a gamer could want, from the newest RPGs, TCGs, and TMGs to dice, board games, paints, and miniatures.
Paizo Publishing is opening this store because many people cant find a local full-service game store, and cant always find the game products that they want. paizo.com is our attempt to solve both of these problems.
We believe in local game stores. They provide a valuable service to the industry in recruiting and teaching new people to game and in providing places for gamers to form a local community. These full-service local game stores are much more scarce than they were even ten years ago. A recent study showed that over half of gamers in the United States dont have a full-service game store within an hour of their home. These are the gamers that paizo.com is made for. If you have a good local game store, we encourage you to shop there unless you cant find what you are looking forthen give us a try.
We are going to carry a diverse inventory of game products. Our eventual goal is to have products from every company, and as complete a selection of each companys games as we can get. If you cant find a product at your local game store, we hope that you will be able to find it at paizo.com.
One of our goals at Paizo Publishing is to provide gamers with the tools they need to make their gaming experiences more enjoyable. Our gaming magazines are already geared towards this goal. Now, we are adding the e-store into the mix. Playing games is supposed to be a fun hobby, not a great big hassle. At paizo.com, weve got the games so you can get to the gaming.
We will continue to add functionality to make paizo.com into a community that you are going to want to be part of. Messageboards to discuss your favorite games will be available along with news from all around the industry. Web previews of products will be added along with more pictures and descriptions. If there is a feature that you would like to see added, please let us know in our messageboards. And as in all new websites, there will be bugs and mistakes that need to be fixed. If you see something that looks a little wonky, post a message here and help us clean up the site.
I am very excited about finally providing gamers who dont have a good local game store with a place that they can call their own. So come on in, take a look around, and let us know if you have any questions.
