Worlds of Their Own, the first Planet Stories anthology, shipped to the printer on Friday, so we've updated the product listing with the full list of authors and stories, the finished cover, and the freshly increased page count.

Thank you! This looks like it will be a great read.

Vic-

Hiya! I am really looking forward to World of Their Own-- lots of great authors are represented. I am unclear whether the book will be part of the "standard line" and in the subscription, or just published under the PS imprint? I am hoping in the subscription, of course!

It is part of the subscription.

Yesterday I read the most interesting sentence ever in "Worlds of their own".

Worlds of their own wrote:
Perhaps that day he had been the man the boy he had once been had thought he was going to be.

I had to read it twice to get the meaning, but I am not native in English.

I don't know why, but that sentence grabed me.

So, thank you Paizo for publishing such pearls.

Even to native speakers that's a bit of a challenge. I know I had to read it a couple times when going over the story for publication. Glad you're enjoying the book!

Cheers,

I agree, and I read it about 2 hours after reading Franz's comment!

I am loving every story in this book, and particularly the way the stories jump from "fantasy" to "sci-fi" and back, meaning they never get mixed up in your mind.

I particularly like the story about Princess Amber, and the One with the Warring Spires...Not quite finished yet though. :)

Creating a readable mix, a line up that shows some range, is one of the editor's jobs for an anthology. Glad you're enjoying what we put together!

Cheers,
Jim Lowder

I finished Gygex's story last night, giggling to myself all the while. I think you can safely make that enjoyed, very much, Thanks James, you did a fantastic job.

Just a curiosity, but are there any plans for a Second WOrlds of There Own Anthology? I'm sure there are many authors out there who have done there own thing, but who are better recognized for their shared world material (and as a large portion of shared world writing is game-related fiction, either looked down on or ignored for it).

We don't have formal plans for a second volume yet, but I think both James and I think it would be fun to do. The best way to ensure that such a book happens is to buy the first one and evangelize it to as many people as possible.

Thank you! Yes, we would certainly love to do more. It all comes down to demand, though.

Awesome! Yeah, it's a really fun read, and a great value... I love mixed-author short story collections!

I amdeciding like like them *a lot* more than single author collections. Not that I want to influence your decisions or anything, Stands pointing roughly at his subscriber tag....

Even more than Robots Have No Tails, which you just gave a 5-star review? ;)

I'll bug Gary so he can add a sixth star to the scale to keep things fair! :)

Indeed.... Couldn't give Robots anything less.... Saying that, on a scale of 1 to 10, "Worlds" would be 10, and robots 9....It's the only collection that takes the "a lot" out of that sentence....

Otherwise known as anthologies. ;-) (but I do agree)
