What would I have to do to recycle this character, other than leveling down and converting from PF flavor to Greyhawk flavor?
I will reread master thrower before approving (some PCs can ruin ST). I am not familiar with paragon, so what class is the 3.5 closest? I like the concept though. Relic hunting is a perfect reason to join an expedition to the forgotten lost savage Isle of Dread especially if one is too arrogant to recognize its dangers. :)
Cool, I'm glad that would work. Paragon classes are from 3.5 Unearthed Arcana (not to be confused with Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed). I'd say the closest basic 3.5 class would be somewhere between rogue, fighter, and bard.

fighter is your other class right? Since paragon is not on the SRD (and I do not have a copy), choose rogue or bard (or *ack* some of both)
hehe... Ok under races, I get it and I like it--its a go, but...
Spoiler:
The scarlet brotherhood is very conceited in their treatment of non-humans. I think it would be good for you to consider this affiliation and play it up. This is only if you want to. If interested, and you do not have the ST players guide let me know.
I have the ST player's guide, and I'm sort of interested. Just give me a little while to re-familiarize myself with Greyhawk, and I can start modifying my character and background.
Stats and description are done. Working on background right now.
Are those the stats from the other campaign? if so can you tell me where the boosts came from. i did not re-read master thrower yet (blush) otherwise it looks good.

Formula for the Dex boost: 18 base + 2 from third level of paragon class + 1 at fourth level. As for the lessened attack penalties, they're from Two-Weapon Fighting, Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, and the Doubletoss weapon trick. I may have unintentionally min-maxed this guy--it's just that I couldn't pass up the character concept...
I'm going to go Barbarian, Human and I'm guessing I start level 6 as well.
My other rolls
** spoiler omitted **
I am guessing you want the middle or the bottom one, but any of the three are fine. Yes level 6 (unless you want a random level (1d4). Oops if you are playing barbar can you even read the dance of my magic electonic ants?
shiny:
Spoiler:
I am mostly OK with master thrower, but there are two things that I do not like, the ranged touch attack, and evasion. I am trying to think of a way to nerf them without totally removing them though. If you have any suggestions let me know. One solution is the magic items I will create for you to replace the other abilities you would gain from Master Thrower.
I didn't see anything having to do with a ranged touch attack, so that one can simply be ignored if it's there. And the evasion issue can be easily solved by just removing the ability? Also, why would evasion be a problem? The character would just be getting a second-level rogue ability at seventh level, if I chose to take another level of the prestige class.

I'll take the middle one. Don't really feel like playing something with two penalties on it. Just got through playing one with three so kind of looking for a positive for a change.
I'm still working on my character. Juggling a new school project that is due in a week and trying to find a new house in another town so my wife can start work on Monday.... Nothing like being rushed, eh?
I am unsure how the ability works into the concept of a master thrower is all. IMHO many PC just cherry pick the coolest abilities and concept be d@#ed. This seems one of those cases. the Ranged does fit the master thrower concept (one of the tricks you can choose), but taking armor out of the equation could break some encounters. Not to worry about it in either case. I will nerf (not remove) the evasion somewhat, but otherwise I think Shiv is ready.
TD: sounds good. Start with the non-combat stuff, point in game gives us a little break on that part, and PBP is kind of slow. Post what you have and hopefully we'll not need the rest before your RL slows some O:)

Cool. (Just my two cents: I think that that particular weapon trick is really broken, so I wasn't going to take it anyway. I try to be responsible about stuff like that.)

woot
TD is all that is left. Is everyone else ready to be introduced to the game thread then?
Lacking any real motivation for new characters to unexpectadely join the a party who shipwrecked too far from civilization to have any help, the DM pulls out an obligatory tavern with prisoners tied up in the next room.
No never mind.
Please ctrl R "survivors", "redshirts", and "rest of the party," with "Abe,Halga, Shiriv and the survivors", "Abe,Halga, Shiriv and the redshirts", and "Abe,Halga, Shiriv and the rest of the party," to the rest of the thread.
About familiarity: how much background does everyone need for the Savage Tide or more importantly Here There be Monsters? To get you caught up I mean?
It be pretty easy all ya new comers. Thar be an island that summun, (Coughs and points at Amar) drove a ship into. Not sure how ya do that since an islands purty big, n stuff, but anyway's, he drove this ship inter this big ole island, and broke it. So then I findja and bee'in a bleedin' heart nice fella decided ter take ya across the island ter civilization. Now there was this big ole lizard that ate me, and a bunch of birds, and ta oogah boogah monster, but besides that its been a walk in tha park. A couple of ya lads died along tha way, and I'll hold a tankard ter yer names when we gets back, but tha most important thing tha you all kin remember is that i'm still alive so summun must be doin' sumpin right. Tha about cover it up Amar ole buddy?

It's not everyone that can break an island by driving a ship into it, but I'm an exceptional guy.
Actually Amar was just a crewman. He's had something of a revelation and discovered how to channel a motley collection of gods. Terry, or anyone, if you want to be crew, then we should know each other.
Curiagh, I don't know much about Savage Tide and nothing about Here be Monsters. I do have a book on the Greyhawk setting, so I'll think of a background and try to figure out what Abe would be doing on an island in the middle of nowhere.
EDIT: players guide to the savage tide is still available as a free download (I think)
Actually not knowing is fine, but here is the synopsis. keep to a single sentence, keep it to a single sentence, keep it to a single sentence...
Pirates killed Lavinia Vandeboren's* parents in the harbor, she hired some adventurers to reclaim the family's other ship (being held for taxes, but the tax guy worked for the pirates.) (There is no Honor)
Lavinia found out pirate was her brother Vanthus* and asked the party to find him. The trail led to Kraken's Cove where Vanthus unknowingly let loose a savage tide* and they found a ship they claimed as part of salvage laws.* (the Bullywug Gambit)
Lavinia discovered her parents were getting ready to mount a second expedition to the fabled Isle of Dread, an island full of wondrous creatures, vast resources and untold powers. If she had a second ship she would continue their venture and visit the colony of Farshore they left on the isle five years ago, and since the party has a ship agreed to make the journey with her. (Sea Wyvern's Wake)
The two ships were separated during a series of massive storms, one which ultimately led to the shipwreck of the Sea Wyvern. A few people on the ship managed to survive* and are being led overland to Farshore colony. (see urdock's post). (Here there be Monsters).
In essence the adventure as written is for the party to escort the survivors back to the colony. You can read the first few entries and randomly from there if you want. Knowing there was not to be any way to replace characters I have added a few "red shirts" who survived the wreck, but are not wholly aware. Wounded, dazed, and even unconscious these rag tag fleet of survivors awake as needed. As originally set up I only had two such red shirts and Amar became the first. however having lost all my table top people in the pbp there are plenty of spare bodies to go around.
Your character might have several reasons for being on the ship:
as a member of the adventurers group
as an adventure/scholar/expert wanting to see the fabled isle of dread (or not see something back home :)
a ships hand
a colonist with skills needed to make farshore viable.
a family member of a colonist from 5 years ago.
a noble whose partial funding made the trip possible.
something much more convincing than I have time to come up with while at work.
TD switch skills if you want, but if all the fabled creatures (dinosaurs) really do exist on this island, riding is a good option.
*each of these has lot of details, and i will add them as asked, anyone familiar with the AP or the characters, feel free to chime in and give you ol' DM a break--these might also be in the previous part of the thread if someone has time to search and link them for me... O:)
Feel free to read as much of the thread as you want, but only the first page and the last page are necessary to know what is going on, and even then not all that necessary.
Click on my profile for the necessary links! (note Paizo has added a dice roller so invisible castle no longer needed but still OK.)
Just FYI, I'm pretty confused - are our characters just going to be retconned into having been shipwrecked there at the beginning, or are they going to be introduced?

There's a herd of shell-shocked survivors we're dragging around with us as we search for a way across the island. It's kind of like Battlestar Galactica that way. You're part of the herd. Up to now you've either been traumatized into total disfunction or you've been faking it.
Ya just feel free to toss yourself in. One of the best mid-game introductions so far I felt was Amar's, scroll back and check out how he came in for some pointers if you like. Curaigh is pretty laid back so I think he will let you get away with almost anything, if you do cross the line I have always wanted to see him use his DM'S THUNDERBOLT FROM THE SKY!!!!!!!

REFLEX SAVE DC 137
Spoiler:
a lightning bolt from the sky pierces Urdok's presumptious, brown-nosing husk! Take 1083d12 brownies points *grin*
but yes, retconned in that you were ballooning with the party the whole time.
Is ballooning a common word yet? If not: when a player's absence necessitates a character following the party around like a balloon on a string (and nearly as fragile as Abe 'played' more deaths then he ever created characters :)
I'm not exactly sure what to do about equipment. Has it been with me this whole time or do I just get some later?
there is very little treasure in this AP as written. While you are not wearing any, the party did manage to scavenge a lot from the ship. So yes you start with equip, it might be a little out of game, but I can not see people surviving long without it *touches nose* exceptin a lizardfolk monk of course.
Urdock you made that save? what a waste of a good save. Now when I throw a sleep spell at you, you will fail. ahem I mean FAIL.
Karma: its a funny thing. O:)
