Sorry for the late notice, as I've been busy these last few weeks with GenConOz and submitting proposals for Arcanacon next January ... but without further delay, here it is almost upon us, Unicon 2009!
Date: Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October, 2009 (that's this coming weekend!)
Location: Melbourne High School, short walk from South Yarra train station.
Online registration for Unicon has already closed, but places should still be available for players who walk in on the day.
Whether this is your first game of Pathfinder Society, or if you're bringing along a Society character played at a previous convention, we'd love to see you!

Hi everyone,
I thought I'd bump this thread just in case anyone in Melbourne Australia might notice it within the next day or two who didn't already know about Unicon - a perfect opportunity to give Pathfinder Society a try if you haven't done so already.
Come along, have some fun, meet some fellow Melbourne Pathfinder players.
I should have been down this weekend because of the magic GP but my tax return didn't come in time so I couldn't afford the weekend down.
Good luck with it Steven, if it's half as good as GenCon it will be fantastic!
Good Luck and Have Fun!

Thanks Caladors.
Last year was my first Unicon, and the first time I ran Pathfinder Society at a convention. I realised Unicon was attended mostly by freeformers, there didn't seem to be any organised play / living games presence there.
For a combination of reasons a) Pathfinder Society was new; b) mostly freeform attendees; c) Unicon sessions are 3hrs long, Pathfinder scenarios require 4hrs, therefore Pathfinder sessions clashed with all other sessions; we had trouble forming a table at all on day one, but ran a couple of sessions on day two.
Spoiler:
Friendly Con-goers Tip: session overlaps and clashes can be minimised if you schedule all your 3hr freeform games on one day, and all your 4hr Pathfinder games on another day.
Therefore, I'm not too sure what to expect from Unicon this year? So soon after GenConOz, I have really been too busy to promote Pathfinder's presence at Unicon with fliers at local game stores. But since last Unicon, Pathfinder has received wider community awareness - appearing at three subsequent conventions, the core rulebook is now available on store shelves, internet forums and reviews, and word-of-mouth, so maybe Unicon attendance will surprise me this year?
We have three players pre-registered already, which is good, as Australian con-goers are notoriously bad for pre-registering before an event, instead opting to make their choices on the day of arrival. Someone suggested to expect twice as many non-registered players turn up on the day as pre-registered players. With three pre-registered players, we're pretty much guaranteed running one table. If more turn up, one of the players is prepared to GM another table. So we should be good.
As much as I love presenting Pathfinder to a large audience of fans (GenConOz was awesome!) I'm pretty happy with small local events too, as they're more relaxed and easier to manage. Even if I manage to introduce only ONE new player to the Pathfinder family, it will have been a successful con!
How did it go Stephen?
At unicon?
Also how is John if you are in regular contact.
I would like to share something with him if you are able to put us in contact.
I am full of sadness cause you have not kept me updated.

Hi Caladors,
Sorry, I didn't mean to ignore you, it's just been a busy week.
Unicon was a slow event for Pathfinder, only one table per session, but I kind of expected that might be the case. Nonetheless, those of us who attended played some scenarios and had some fun.
One of the players who'd volunteered to GM another table if enough players showed, actually ran one session so I had an opportunity to play, which was a nice change of pace for me.
There was one player new to Pathfinder, who thought he'd give it a try because there were no other living games running at Unicon. I think he enjoyed it. The other players had played Pathfinder before, but it was good to catch up and play again.
