Hey Torontonians and those close enough to drop by!

More details to follow soon, I hope, but there’s a D&D mini-con taking place on January 16-18, tentatively set at one of the downtown colleges or university campuses (tentatively U of T or possibly Ryerson, I suspect).

It’s really a 4E org play event, but I was invited to run a table or two of PFS. Those 4E guys are quite cool. But I’d still like to demonstrate that we can still kick it 3.X with an awesome of setting.

If you can make the date and are interested, please post up here and I’ll see if there’s a table to be formed. I am happy to prep and run any module, so feel free to let me know your PC level and what mod you’d like to play in and I’ll see how I can accommodate the group. If you’d like to GM a table instead, just let me know; I bet we could arrange that too. Players new to PFS are welcome – as are players new to the game entirely.

All I ask is that the game exude an intensity level worthy of the PFS island it will be surrounded by those 4E tables! ! !

So! Anyone out there?

Scribling Rambler – can you make it?!

Rambling Scribe? Steph says you should come!

Sorry that I missed this over the holidays. I will do my best to show up there.

Just let us know where and when.

Okay, as long as I know when and where, and don't have something going on that day, I'm there. Currently I'm 1st level and haven't been able to run a PFS game, so I'd be so up for this. And any module would do.

I've talked with Rambling Scribe and we're looking to see whether it is possible to drive down for part of it, and he has to see if he's available.

Do you have more information about it?

Angus

I should be able to make it on the Saturday.

Mike let me know that the con is at Ryerson campus, and gave me a link for the Spellstorm Site.

So far it's mainly 4e stuff, but we can add some Pathfinder to the mix ;)

Rambler! Thanks for adding the link!

You will see that my initial post is slightly wrong on the dates. The Con takes place on Friday (Jan 16) and Saturday (Jan 17) only. There is no Sunday.

The location is:

Oakham House (Ryerson)
63 Gould Street,
Toronto

Think Young and Dundas guys. Very TTC-able.

Also, from speaking to the organizers, the Con is meant to be a general rpg Con. It's only 4E-Living by default as that's what's currently packing the schedule. There is enthusiasm for any interest in diversification.

OK!

Go by the official website, rather than by me, but as I understand it there are now actually three PFS Scenarios being run on Saturday: "Slave Pits", "Silken Caravan" and "Frozen Fingers". The first is the morning slot, the second is the afternoon, and the last is the evening slot. There is only one table for each mod so seats are very limited, but at my last look there's still a couple spots left at each table.

As a bonus, we were able to persuade author Craig Schackleton to run the "Frozen Fingers" slot for us, the module he wrote. Hey, he did it for Montreal, what are we, chopped liver?

Sorry for this zombie thread action but...

I'm going to start up a Pathfinder organized play group(s) in Toronto in the early fall. I was wondering if groups already exist in Toronto and whether we could somewhat coordinate or whether I could be a player in someone elses game sometime?

As far as I know, none of the Toronto based D&D groups I'm part of (meetup.com, Facebook.com, TRPA) have Pathfinders in them.

Ask a Shoanti (Michael Korte), Scribbling Rambler, Modera, Armac, any help would be awesome.

My email is brujahx@yahoo.com

I wish there was a messaging system on these boards, here comes the spam.

Heya Jason,

I'll shoot you a line and let you know what I know.

But as a coincidence, the word on the street so to speak is that the organizers for Spellstorm are looking to organize their second Con sometime this summer - date still TBA.

Pathfinder Fans are once again kindly invited. A legion we are not, but mighty we are still.

P.S. Please say "Hi" to the fine folks of the TRPA for me.

I advertised on the Toronto Area Gamers (TAG) Meetup group way back when to start up a Pathfinder group, but there wasn't much interest.

If you get one going, I'd definitely be interested (in theory, anyways).

Hogarth,

If you haven't already, maybe drop Jason a line and see what's cooking.

Already done.

Hey, I didn't realize there were so many folks so local-like.

I don't live in Toronto proper, but am there at least once a week or so for school.

I'd love to get in on some face-to-face gaming with you folks.

I'll send Jason an email regarding this as well!

Osirion (Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

As for a PF game, I'll have to see down the line I'm afraid. I have 2 3.5 games that are being run right now. If I do anymore, than the Fiancé is going to get a little angry.

I'll email you if either of the games drop. I am interested in a Con game of PFS (for serious this time, work won't dump weekend work on my last moment this time)

Scribbling Rambler, Rambling Scribe and I are actually in Ottawa. Not really convenient to play in a regular Toronto group but you never know about convention appearances.

Hey! Don't lump me in with you guys! I'm in the GTA (kinda).

Email to Jason has been sent.

I suggest that you Ontario folks set up a Yahoo Group or something similar like we have in Quebec:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/pathfinder_quebec/

The mailing list is convenient for coordinating games and the databases are useful for mustering tables, listing characters, and tracking scenarios played. Plus it would allow those of us who are a little farther away to join and eavesdrop on what's happening out there and maybe plan trips for cons or game days. :)

Oops, I knew that. But really, am I supposed to really be able to keep track of the handles of you Shackletons? I suppose I could remember though that Glen doesn't seem to post that often...

You might want to try posting on the old Ket RPGA Living Greyhawk Yahoo list too.

If I'm ever in Ottawa I'll look you up.

Please do.

Alright, a shout-out to the Super-fiends, the Shacks, and all other Pathfinder fans in the GTA. The Spellfire Con is back for 2010.

Make note of the date:

Friday, February 19 and Saturday, February 20.

The place is the same - Ryerson. We'll figure out what mods to run once we know a little bit more about who's coming.

Please keep in touch!

-Ask

P.S. The convention will be a Yak-friendly.

Taldor (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

Ask,

I sent you an e-mail.

It looks like a couple of us will try to make it down.

Angus
