I hope this will reach Erik - therefore if you have a more direct way to contact him (I guess Josh is reading every single post on the PFS boards) - please let him know.

I just got contacted by the organizers of Dragonmeet- asking me if I still organzie some PFS games there (yes I do) as well as asking me to ensure I don't clash with Erik (it seems he is the GM for an early slot).

Here is the relevant bit from my reply to the organizer:

---
Here are the current plans - I will try to ensure my utmost that it doesn't clash. Do you know which scenario Erik plans to play and at which time? This would help me to coordinate.
We can always move players from the first game I planned completely over to Erik - or we keep the slot as reserve if there are too many players wanting to play in Erik's game.
---

We currently plan 2 scenarios:
Russ will start first with scenario 5 - Mists of the Mwangi
I will follow after that game with scenario 35 - Voice in the Void

I probably have some player/GM in the afternoon who could add an extra slot on short notice if the interest is too high.

As most players are low level for the first game it would help to know from Erik:

a) what scenario do you plan to GM
b) what tier do you plan
c) do you have already players booked up

I try to ensure that all players get a great experience. As such it is fantastic that Erik shows up and wants to GM.

But some input would help to ensure a poor first time PFS/organized play gamemaster and organizer (I talk about myself) that all players so far lined up are guaranteed a place on your table or on an alternative one. Guess at some stage in the future I will look back at this as the best that could ever happen to start in the PFS - right now I just try to keep feelings of panic at bay.

I hope to hear back - more detailed contact information should be in the Events finder - Dragonmeet.

NB
At this point Dragonmeet still seem to be updating their site with information for the 2009 event. You might have to contact Wintergreen, Erik, for Thod's details if they aren't up on the Dragonmeet site.

Thod:
Well, if you think you're panicking now, just wait until the night before.... :D
Best wishes, though. :)

Edit:
Go PFS UK!

With the events finder I was meaning the PFS one on the Paizo boards. I did add Dragonmeet approx. a week ago and everyone can find my details there. No - my own details won't be on the Dragonmeet web site. They still haven't a single game up yet.

In addition - here is my e-mail again (this is my Pathfinder/Paizo specific one): paizo add loesel dot freeserve dot co dot uk

There is already an e-mail on its way to Erik (Thanks Wintergreen) - so hope he either gets that one or reads this here.

In regard to panicking - I guess I just didn't know what I would sign up to. A CON I have never been to, organizers who take ages to reply to any inquiry and a publisher who just likes to drop in last minute. Well - I just tell myself - all will be fine, all will be fine, all will be fine ...

Actually - it looks like it will be a very exiting day. My wife decided last week she wanted to join as well. Will be her very first PFS game - as well as first exposure to Pathfinder. She plays in my home campaign (D&D 3.x) and I hope she will really enjoy a game outside our own group.

But I guess I expected a start being a little bit more dull. But I guess that is what adventuring is about - exitement :)

Dragonmeet - So exciting that you lose the 'c' from exciting, and run for the exit in your eagerness to get there already. ;)
Apologies, but failed my Will save on that one. Ah well: at least you won't have to cope with taxi drivers who manage to misplace a well-known Birmingham balti...

In an effort to be more helpful though, do you have a checklist? (And do you have a backup copy on floppy disk or thingummy drive of your checklist?)
Note on it useful things to make sure that you (or minions who are to be harrased into making sure they don't forget) don't leve something important at home, or (in the excitement when clearing up afterwards) at the convention.

You know, things like:

  • rulebooks
  • miniatures
  • dice
  • more dice
  • cthulhu mascot
  • sweets for tables (optional)
  • mats/maps
  • PFS sheets
  • etc, etc, and so forth

I'm sure my senior PaizoCon UK organisers can supply you with a more detailed list of things essential or recommended for convention play if you ask them and they haven't done so already... :)

    And DON'T PANIC!!!!!
This is most important of all, and why you have the Cthulhu mascot... So when anxiety approaches, you can pick Cthulhu up and menace anxiety with it whilst making appropriate mythos sounds, until anxiety slinks away, tail between its legs and a worried expression on its face.
