Lets say you are unfortunate enough to not be able to go to Gen Con, and you end up running an event right smack dab on the 13th. Even if you get the new rules that day, you don't have time to get everyone up to speed on them.
Can you still run that session under 3.5, and is there a cut off on when you report the session. I know Season One kicks off at Gen Con, but when will Season Zero reporting end? Given that it seems that faction points and the like are changing, without having this information ahead of time, it seems like it would be hard to report an event during this time without the new rules.
Just kind of wondering when the drop dead point is, and if, for example, an event that week just would be better off not happening. Mainly out of curiosity.

I am curious too.
Do players make whole new characters when Season One starts? IS there a conversion?

You can convert them. Josh will be releasing a conversion cheat sheet.

I knew that characters can be converted, but I guess my question is, if you run something on Day One of Season One, do the characters have to be converted, how long do they have to be converted, and what about the apparent differences between prestige points between Season Zero and Season One, since apparently that system is changing . . . if it does, does this mean the reporting is different, and how long can a scenario be reported under the "old system?"

I'm actually moving away from the conversion sheet and leaning more toward the idea of rebuilding your PC under the new rules back up to the same level he/she was before. It's a lot easier than saying "this goes here and that goes there and please re-spend your points this way" and it allows folks to create their PCs again using the newly available materials.
There will be a period of time where some folks won't have the new PRPG rules yet and may want to play old scenarios--let's call that period of time a month right now. So during that month, anyone who doesn't have access to the new RRPG rules will be able to continue to play old scenarios, but they won't be able to play new scenarios until they've updated their PC to PRPG. After that month is over, the PRPG book is the core assumption for Pathfinder Society and your PC will only be legal for play if it has been created using the PRPG rules or converted from 3.5 to PRPG.

The prestige change is relatively minor and will have no impact on the accumulation of prestige during or after season 0. Once a PC has been converted to season 1, they can start playing season 1 scenarios and will be using the season 1 prestige system.

Can we play the old scenarios once we start playing with the new Pathfinder RPG rulebook? I think so but I just want to make absolutely sure.

This raises the question of re-spending your secondary experience e.g. money. Way I see it there are two options:
a) Calculate totals from all of the chronicles and re-spend on scrolls, potions etc. used up during play, then spend the rest of the money on equipment more appropriate to the new character build.
b) Just slap on the equipment and money the character has during the time of re-building. This is considerably easier, but might leave you with redundant equipment due to changes in class etc. Say the original character was multi-classed sorcerer/ranger and the character had purchased a mithral shirt, and the new PFRPG character is a pure caster who doesn't have the necessary armor proficiency.

This seems like a slow way to do this. Just sell everything a character currently has at full price and you'll end up with the same amount of money.

Ah, very true. Wonder why I didn't come up with that one. ;)

Yep, you sure can! Since PRPG was designed to insure quick and easy backward compatibility with 3.5, all of the scenarios will work just fine played under PRPG with just a few minutes of conversion.
