I didn't want to start a "Request for..." Thread in the Ply-By-Post sandbox, yet; call it irrational fear due to my low self esteem in the face of the saavy, gungho PBPers. And because I'm not sure if it's really allowed or what the procedure is.
Can I just build & register my Pathfinder Society PC and then go to the PBP sandbox and ask for a DM and three (or more) other Paizonians to help start a new campaign?
It seems like I'd likely get a few callers from PCs but maybe not so lucky requesting a DM too.
We can play on-line, yes? How does it work?

Here is my understanding how it works. I did try to read through all of the Society FAQ posts - but all what I answer here is from memory.
The Pathfinder Society does allow different forms of play - be it convention, home games or electronic versions.
The one big issue with a PBP game in regard to 'my' character is, that you aren't allowed to play a scenario twice and you can't play at the same time in two scenarios.
Therefore for a PBP scenario you might want a second character. He might be stuck in a game for a while. In this time you can't use him/her for any other games - for example a convention. Othervice it gets too messy - just think time travel - what happens if you die in one game ahead of playing alive in a later one.
I might be interested as well - and I understand your feelings to post here first. I also don't feel comfortable yet to play in new formats I haven't done before. But with the only players I met so far nearly 100 miles away I(I still GM D&D 3.x with my home group and wait for the next TPK to move on) I might be tempted to try it out.

Okay, that makes sense -- my PC can't be in one adventure and simultaneously be in another.
This just means that in the weeks before a Con (that I'm planning to attend) I would need to know that my PBP adventure is wrapping up and will finish before the Con.
A little advanced planning and that shouldn't be a problem. With my schedule I can't really go to Cons often, anyway.
.
.
.
My concern is whether we're allowed to play a Pathfinder Society PC in official adventures in PBP and get official Chronicles.
I just want to build one or two PCs up to a good level so I can go to Cons and play in an APL 8-13 adventure and not in a 1st level adventure.

Putting a time frame on the game will also help players avoid having their character stuck in one game online when they could be playing one in person.

Best of luck organizing this. Thus far, I don't know of any pbp PFS games, though online play is thriving using realtime vtt software and/or skype. You should check out the Pathfinder Society Online Collective google group if you'd be interested in any of that.
