Question, I'm trying to decide what to play. Should I base my decision on the Campaign RPG that will be ready next year? Will our characters convert to the new rules in whatever form they start in? For instance, if I start a bard now using 3.5 rules, in a year will I just 'transform' him into a Pathfinder RPG bard? Same with races, will the race abilities be changed to the Pathfinder stats?
I believe with the way this organized play goes, your character will retire after the first year, and each year after that. I could be wrong though, so anyone fully in the know jump in a say what's right.
Characters retire at 12th level. The highest you could possibly be in the first year is level 9.
We won't give much thought to the exact nature of the character modifications that'll need to happen August 2009--we'll start on that about the time Jason finalizes the Beta rules into the final PRPG rules.

So I take that to mean a conversion will definitely be taking place for the characters we progress? So this whole year 0 will not be for nothing for our characters?

[Nitpicky]Shouldn't that be 10th level? 28 scenarios means you could ADVANCE 9 levels (with one scenario left over) Thus ending at 10th[/Nitpicky]
That's assuming that every scenario is exactly level appropriate for you to level through the season. We introduce a rotating wave of low, mid, and higher level scenarios throughout the year. If you play every single on that is within your level range, you'll hit level 9 by year's end.
