Polymorphing to a monstrous humanoid RSS

is there any way to shift ones form into that of a monstrous humanoid (not a mere illusion)?

No known way in 3.p, but if your DM updated Master of Many Forms you would get it early (I think it is 2nd level) and there may be other ways in 3.5 splat books.
