The damage output for Earth and Water Elementals do not match the strength bonuses i.e. Med Earth Elemental, Str 20, Damage is 1D8+7
Where is this extra damage comming from?
And when a Druid wildshapes, do they get this extra damage?
D8 +Str bonus +2?

Since the only get 2 slam attacks, each attack is treated as a 2-handed weapon. Same thing with bite attack(if bite is the only attack option). I do not believe this applies to all monsters with only on attack though.

Slam is a 2 handed, so you get 1.5 times STR. 5+5/2 = 7.

p302 makes it clear you only get 1.5 times when you take a single attack with a primary weapon (bite/claw/gore/slam/sting/talons.) Some rare exceptions like Dragons always get 1.5 on their bite even during a full attack.

The druid gains the bonus based on his STR if he makes only one attack.
