Besides their attack or damage bonus, do +1/2/et al weapons bypass DR?
Thanks!
Depends on the damage reduction and the bonus.
If its just DR/magic any bonus will do.
For other kinds of DR:

I'm not sure why Zaister decided to be a snot with his response.
All we know is he must be punished. Severely. Oh yes.
Denim, since you're new here and it was you who was been snotted at, we'll hold him down for you. The pineapples are over there.
Not the pineapples, Kae... have some mercy on the poor soul! If I recall correctly, even the Order of the Rack considered your methods too cruel and inhuman...

Yeah, and I had them all tortured for being a bunch of pansy-boys.
And I was being kind: There are a lot of worse things than being beaten over the head and stomach with a pineapple. They might be somewhat spiky, but they won't hold long.

Hmm. That's one change I don't like in the PFRPG rules compared to 3.5.. That makes those special types of DR far less interesting; there's no particular need to find/buy weapons with specific materials to fight, say, Devils or Demons anymore with those rules.

So you liked having to carry a golf bag with you everywhere?

Not necessarily, but I did like having to decide which weapon to keep and which to sell, or which weapon to buy when multiples were available.
For instance, finding a +3 anarchic weapon was interesting, whereas finding a +5 weapon was simply powerful. Now, there's no reason to ever find a +3 anarchic weapon again, because noone in their right mind would make one (since a +5 weapon costs the same, and also incorporates axiomatic, holy, and unholy).
Also, when making PCs/NPCs with specific grudges, them choosing to use, say, a +2 silver weapon instead of a +3 weapon if they were heavily anti-lycanthropes made perfect sense from a roleplaying point of view (plus from a power point of view), while now there's just no choice. The +3 weapon will always be better, although far less flavorful.

Never actually had to do it, so I didn't mind. And it was nice knowing that lycanthropes had an actual aversion to just silver, rather than silver and "sufficiently advanced magic." For those who are kvetching about the mythical golf-bag, there was an enhancement in the MIC that allowed you to overcome all DR if you really had such an issue (all for the price of +2 enhancement). I didn't even see that one used.
Perhaps it's that I never played in a game past level 15, or perhaps it's just that I recognized that it was a much more flavorful way of making DR work. Why bother ever even preparing spells like align weapon anymore?
It also means that DR is a worthless defensive ability for high-CR monsters, which is a paradox since high-CR monsters get the best DR-abilities (such as DR 15/good and silver for a Pit Fiend, which actually meant it would usually take 15 less damage from each hit, unless the party prepared especially for it).
At the level where you can except to face those monsters, any self-respecting fighter should have a +5 weapon, especially with those rules. In fact, if the fighter doesn't have enough gold to purchase one, I'd expect the entire group to pool together their resources to get one, since it is so incredibly more useful to have +5 compared to +4 now than it used to be.
Might as well just cut DR from any high-level monster altogether :)

I disagree. Before Pathfinder brought in the new rules for DR bypassing, most characters that I saw didn't bother with having high level weapons as it was considered to not really be worth it. I saw a lot of weapons with multiple enhancements that were not to the + (several types of bane, speed, keen, etc...).
Now I am seeing weapons that are being planed to have that +5 to be able to bypass DR. As well as to agonizing choice over what else to get but now being more limited (to +5 rather than to +9).

Exactly. You won't see that anymore, as every gold piece until you have the +5 will go directly towards the plus now. So there would be far less variety in weapons.

You may and you may not. It will depend on the players, but you will see more of them, which I think is a good thing.
In my current campaign, there is a crossbowman who has a bow that has +2, and 3 banes (added after fighting certain creatures and being very frightened), as well as a paladin with +3 holy longswords. The whole party has a mixture of weapon enhancement, with none better than the other, in part due to the new rules.
