I heard on one of the other threads that it was November, but I am not "in the know". I think it was in one of the complaint threads dealing with quick shipping of the Core rules.

I have the PFRPG Core Rulebook, and I love it, but with the errata that has come out, and as there is bound to be more, I might just need to get the second printing when it comes out. I can't bear to mar this beautiful tome by taping in errata to it's precious pages.

If you are looking for the second printing for the errata November was the scheduled date but I've heard that might be delayed a bit more.
If you are just trying to get a copy there are some out there in the channels if you keep trying. You have a pretty solid chance if you order it from Paizo directly. I'm not sure who else you might be able to get it from at this point. Amazon is taking forever to get copies out.

Hopefully Paizo will have the next run out by black Friday, so I expect it's most likely to show up the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, or maybe a week before.
Of course something could always happen to delay the run (customs, shipping problems, printer problems, ect).
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
At this point, it's looking like the second printing will be hitting store shelves in early November. Depending on the speed of the actual printing and the shipment of the books and all that, we MIGHT be able to get stuff into stores by late October, but that'd probably be a minor miracle—sometime in November before Thanksgiving is much more likely.
Again, assuming things like sinking ships or customs or printer problems don't delay it further.

*sigh* then I have a long wait ahead of me til I get my hands on my copy.

The next printing will come sometime in late October to early November. It is too far out to be more specific.
However, I will note that we still have copies in stock here on paizo.com and there will be a small shipment sent out to the core hobby retailers sometime in early September.

I ordered from Amazon on release day and it immediately said it would ship on Sept 2. Do you have any info to think that date isn't reliable?

I dunno if this is one of your core hobby retailers, but Today I got a copy of the hardcover in Connecticut from a Borders bookstore.
I had to drive an hour to get it, and it apparently is the only bookstore of the major chains (Borders and Barnes & Noble) in about 150 miles that is going to get one in any time soon---and this store only got ONE in.
The thing is so heavy I had to strap it in with a seatbelt, so in case I stopped short it wouldn't blast through my engine block.
I'll take a look through it this weekend and let you all know my thoughts. I know it is definitely well worth picking it up, even if, like me, you have the pdf. There is just something about having a book to read and understand something. The pdf is good as a reference once you learn it, but to learn and get it I think that for me a book is a must.

So, was the shipping date of late Oct to early Nov still accurate?
I'm still eagerly awaiting my PFRPG from Amazon, from 7 weeks of waiting. And I've already received my copy of the beastiary, which was ordered 4 weeks ago.

The second printing has not yet arrived in our warehouse; it'll probably be another week or two.
We have a small quantity of the 1st printing left that had been reserved for sale here at paizo.com; we'll continue fulfilling webstore orders with those copies until they're gone.

Vic wertz, i hope you've got at least double the amount you ordered for the first print run coming this time. I'm very worried because amazon uk has now removed ALL details of the core rulebook from their site apart from its name and picture and they still haven't sent me a revised dispatch date. Please Paizo Technical Director you've allready shot yourself in one foot don't shoot yourself in the other one.

Erm, it was the UK distributors who shoot themselves in the foot (by ordering just a couple hundred books), not Paizo.
It's the distributors that decide how many books they take. And sometimes, they underestimate the demand. And there's nothing Paizo can do about it...
Distributor: "OK, we will take 100 of those Pathfinders"
Paizo: "But it's all kind of awesome ! You need around 1000 !"
Distributor: "Yeah yeah, those sorcerors from the shore said the same thing and we sold only 98 of their newest."
3 weeks later
Distributor: "We're sold out on that Pathfinder thingy, and the retailers are cursing over the phone line. When's the next printing ?
Paizo: "AAAAAAARGH !"

LOOOOOOOL.
The french version had a few bugs on characters table (very often swapped the Will save for the reflex save column or fortitude column.
For a Monk that's not a problem but guess the fighter was not happy with a crappy fortitude save.... :D
Anyhow the new print out in french provided some stickers to correct the bugs
I think that's quite a good idea.... :D

Is this actually confirmed in any way or just rumour. Yes - somehow Amazon in the UK really screwed up and I'm not aware of anyone ever getting his book yet despite other countried getting them eventually. I ordered one 7th of July - still no luck. I kept the order despite getting the book in a FLGS which wasn't that local but where I just luckily stumbled into on business trip.
I hope the Bestiary workd better - I ordered it a day after the Core Rulebook.

Thanks
This would make a lot of sense - and also explains why it is so difficult to find new interested players (as long as you are not located in London).
One good news - my Bestiary just changed status to 'will be delivered soon - can't be canceled any longer'.
So it seems at least this order is on it's way. It might take a while - as I used the free (slow) delivery and we have a postal strike - but let's be eternally hopeful.

My bestiary got shipped - free delivery - but due to the postal strike they use a delivery firm and I even have tracking information. It is scheduled for Friday !!
Looking forward to hold it in my hands (got the pdf from Paizo - but I'm more of a dead tree customer).

I've just got another e-mail notifying me that my copy of The Bestiary has just been despatched and because i'm an Prime subsciber i'll get it tomorrow. I've had no problems with deliveries from amazon during the Royal Mail strike, i got my copy of 40k Rogue trader on time (sent on a friday, delivered on the monday).
I'm from King's Lynn in Norfolk by the way Thod.
I've still got no idea about when i'll get the main rulebook though, i suppose i'll have to make do with the beta release pdf and the conversion guide.
Oh am i right in thinking that the Conversion guide is more up to date than the beta release, i ask because the bard is different in both.

I want to buy a second PFRPG hardcover (one will be a "shelf" book while the other will be a "carry around" book). If the Amazon gets a new supply (currently the core book is OoS there), will that be the new print ?

The first round of errata is incorporated into the second printing, but those are pretty minor changes; the overall book looks exactly the same.

As Vic said above... we can only guarantee it's a 2nd printing if you order from Paizo.com. We have no control over what editions other retailers sell... but I suspect that since Amazon seems to be out of the book and there's a bunch new ones going out, chances are pretty good that they'll be selling 2nd printings.

Is there a trade-in value of first to second printing - to get the errata...? :-)
Is there a list of said errata that I can just print out and loose-leaf it into my copy of the book?
Thanks

I realize you are all very busy, but with the success of the core book, I hope that some enterprising intern is being tasked with sifting through all the errata/issues/rules questions threads and consolidating those questions that have been answered with those that haven't so that you and Jason and the other guru's can answer those questions so they can be added to the official FAQ/Errata?

We've got things under control, never fear. We also have priorities, and getting FAQ up and online is not as much of a priority as is getting our still critically behind schedule caught up and running smoothly... because when the schedule is off, it wreaks an INCREDIBLE amount of devastation on work patterns and cash flow and author/artist availability and payment schedules and all sorts of things. It's really actually quite demoralizing and scary to be off-schedule... far scarier than the concept that there's a few rules out there that need clarification.

LOL,
Like I said, I figured it was something that had been relegated to a gopher for now. I can imagine how bad you are behind, all the shipments are late (still waiting for my october map packs). ;) Get caught up and have a good holiday, I'll give you to at least January 2nd to get that FAQ/Errata done before I start accusing you guys of being lazy. ;)

Not sure if you can share this information, but my asking can't hurt :-) As I'm in Belgium, ordering through Paizo is not realistic as I don't want to pay more for the shipping than for the book, and it's really difficult to find an English version here...

Whether or not Amazon stocks the book is up to Amazon. I do know that the distributor that Amazon buys books from took a pretty HUGE shipment of the 2nd printing of the PFRPG, so I would guess that, yes, Amazon will soon have the book in stock.

When I read this I had to laugh. People here really ask for a trade in? Well - people wake up. Is this is what you want - hurry up. Come on - you are roleplayers - this is a challenge - don't take the above for a no. Just think out of the box. If the obvious option doesn't work - look for alteratives and you will realize that since mid August there is a MASSIVE trade in available.
Actually - you even get 2 books 2nd edition for one book first edition.
You don't know what I'm talking about?
Goto E-Bay, go to Amazon. Second hand prizes are just insane - currently someone in the UK asks for 117 pounds and small change for a used !! copy. Anything cheaper has disappeared long ago.
But you might just have missed the opportunity in the US.
In Europe - go ahead - place your book for 50 dollar (or the equivalent or whatever you paid) on the secondary market and you can be sure to find someone GLAD to take it from you. No - I'm not advertising to make money - I just say - some people are still out there very eager to get your book.
You say - you then have to wait for your second copy?
I haven't said everything is free.

Since the PDF is kept updated (and is a steal at $10), owners of the original printing can always print out the corrected sections, then paste them straight into the book. Presto! :)
I personally love how Paizo is keeping the PDF updated to reflect the latest printing. In fact, Paizo's entire PDF model is very customer-friendly, for which they deserve much credit.
