I hope mine comes today. Mine was bought in such a way that I won't get a shipping e-mail.
By "bought" do you mean "held up every UPS, USPS you saw until a copy 'fell' off the back of their truck" ^_^
No, someone on the boards found out I had been laid off and bought me a copy as a gift. I don't know who it was, but they, not I, will recieve the shipping notification, at least I figure that is the case. It was a wonderful gesture and a wickedly pleasnt torture as well.
Not happy about that... I really liked that addition to the humans.
A friend of mine is going to be pissed. He built his entire Pathfinder character concept around that. (He was using the Beta rules to at least put together a character outline before he has to frantically write up the character in the hour before his event.
Hmm... I didn't realize preordering it would get it before street date. I ordered my from a local store, so hopefully it'll be arriving sooner, rather than later. *Shrug* Oh, well. I did manage to get a bit of a discount doing it that way, so I can't really complain. I won't be able to do anything with it for a while anyway.
IT'S HERE! I'm fumbling between open the box w/ my keys and typing this out =p
Congrats!
<sigh> Mine hasn't even shipped yet. At this rate I am looking at getting it closer to the 18th than the 13th (assuming it even ships on Monday) which, considering some people are already getting copies, is somewhat irritating. At the very least I was hoping to get the books by the 15th so I could pass them out to my crew in anticipation of the new campaign. This campaign is replacing a 4e game I put on hold, somewhat forcibly.
These books are sort of a birthday present from me to my group and my birthday happens to fall on the release date. It might have been more expedient to simply order them through the LGS, I suppose. But then, it likely would have been less of a guaranteed order.
Not a huge deal, just a little disappointing. Certainly not angry by any stretch. Just really, really excited. :)

Same here.
I have built a couple of characters that are specifically built to utilise this rule as well. I am going to either stuff up the entire concept or House Rule the change. Only problem is it will be another DM's call on the House Rule.
You can always try cutting back one feat in your builds and take Martial Weapon Prof as the human bonus. I know it will delay some effectiveness at lower levels, but there it is. Unless the PFRPG cut back on the feat progression to 3.5's 1 every 3 levels, instead of every odd. Better yet take the opportunity and revise the builds to use an Exotic Weapon.

Halfling Sling Staff? Sounds mighty awesome.
Only problem with that is that Exotic weapon prof. requires a +1 BAB, and if you're trying to deck out your wizard or rogue, it doesn't work too well.

Yes, i guess a whole new character concept needs to be created.
It seems the scales tip more often in favor of 'procrastination pays off now', so again I am on the wrong side.
I am very jealous. My gf will be back from 3 weeks in India & Nepal on the 13th. I doubt I can get away with sitting reading for too long. Why did my book not teleport here right now?

That seems like a better candidate for a house rule then giving all humans martial prof.
Amazon is saying my order won't even ship until the 19th :(. Sigh, at this point I don't even know if they have enough books to fill my order or if I should just go get the pdf.
btw, I didnt expect mine for another week according to the mail I got, so maybe they shipped them early, and put a later date on the mail to surprise us?
One awesome thing I noticed so far...divine bond is worded much better, and the bonus can stack with an existing weapon.

Curse you Amazon!
Oh, sure, the price is lower. But the shipping date gets pushed farther and farther back with each passing day. In the mean time, the other Paizo goodness I ordered shipped early... to the wrong address!

Mine came today as well. It was actually sitting outside my door. Glad it wasn't raining or stolen.
I'll refrain from making post about the content of the book until the 13th. I hope Paizo isn't upset that some of us are getting these almost a week early. It will be handy to have before GenCon, though.

Gloat, if mailed Tuesday, takes 5-6 days to arrive here in Lincoln,NE. From Renton to Spokane, Spokane to Denver, Denver to Omaha, Omaha to Lincoln. So, should be about the 17th-18th, before in my hands. OH WELL, should have the PDF before that. :)
I was wondering when the first books would start showing up. They have been busy shipping for a number of days now, and due to the randomness of the post office and various delivery services, it does not at all surprise me that some folks got them a bit early.
My shipping email I got a few days ago, and said it wasnt shipping until next tues, with 4-8 days for delivery. It was a nice surprise to get early though! And excellent timing too, as I'm on vacation this coming week.
I got the other goodies too, like the module, and part one to CoT, but those have to wait. Busy reading.
Sorely tempted to drive over to the warehous, break in a la Mission Impossible style and hunt for the box with my name on it. Oh, to stop the torment of waiting!
(actually, I don't mind waiting, as the anticipation is quite fun)

I'll volunter my experiene with covert ops for this mission. We just have to grab mine too while we're there.

I think I will open up a human racial trait for that. Take any one martial weapon proficiency or an exotic weapon proficiency if you have a proper background or already have all martial proficiencies. It still takes a slot but not a weapon slot. Pretty easy to deal with honestly.
Just a note on Why it's there. Last Thursday we're at the office late - like 10:00 late - finishing up the dark ones' cave in James's Sandpoint game, when Jeff, Cosmo, Vic, and Lisa come on up. They'd been in the warehouse all evening packing boxes of the PFRPG. And then turned around the next day and joined Jeff S., Alison, and Brock the next day to do it some more! So yeah, there's a pretty good chance that if you have your now, it was packed by the owners/managers of the company way past their bedtimes. Just throwing that out there! It's really exciting that folks are getting this now - somehow that helps make the last months of work all real.
