So unfair!
Mine is going to take at least a week to get here and still hasn't shipped yet.

+1

*sniff* no loving from Paizo this week

I hope mine comes today. Mine was bought in such a way that I won't get a shipping e-mail.

By "bought" do you mean "held up every UPS, USPS you saw until a copy 'fell' off the back of their truck" ^_^

Andoran (Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

Some tidbits I've noticed:

Humans lost martial weapon proficiency

Domains are vastly improved from Beta (still not happy with the War domain's 1st level ability though)

Sor/Wiz stayed d6

It suggests animal companions can have ints higher than 3 though I don't see how...

Nimble Moves and Acrobatic Steps feats allow you to ignore rough terrain for 5 and 20 feet respectively

Special Materials is in the Equipment section rather than by magic items (awesome)

Halfling Sling Staff is a sling that does 1d6 for small 1d8 for medium and can also be used as a club

I'm gonna have to go back to work in 15 minutes so I can't just sit and read the whole thing ><

Shadow Lodge (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Sling staff... This interests me greatly!

No, someone on the boards found out I had been laid off and bought me a copy as a gift. I don't know who it was, but they, not I, will recieve the shipping notification, at least I figure that is the case. It was a wonderful gesture and a wickedly pleasnt torture as well.

Shadow Lodge (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Wow awesome! Hope you get soon then.

Now if you'll excuse I need to get ready for the mailman

Andoran (RPG Superstar 2008 Top 32, 2011 Top 16)

I just got my copy also! (Chicago burbs if anyone's tracking what locations are getting them today.)

Paizo - you rock - I was concerned that I wouldn't get the book before heading off to Gen Con! Now to go read it.

We're leaving for Gen Con early so I couldn't trust the pre-order. Damn, now I wish I had if people are getting theirs already.

A friend of mine is going to be pissed. He built his entire Pathfinder character concept around that. (He was using the Beta rules to at least put together a character outline before he has to frantically write up the character in the hour before his event.

Hmm... I didn't realize preordering it would get it before street date. I ordered my from a local store, so hopefully it'll be arriving sooner, rather than later. *Shrug* Oh, well. I did manage to get a bit of a discount doing it that way, so I can't really complain. I won't be able to do anything with it for a while anyway.

<sigh> Mine hasn't even shipped yet. At this rate I am looking at getting it closer to the 18th than the 13th (assuming it even ships on Monday) which, considering some people are already getting copies, is somewhat irritating. At the very least I was hoping to get the books by the 15th so I could pass them out to my crew in anticipation of the new campaign. This campaign is replacing a 4e game I put on hold, somewhat forcibly.

These books are sort of a birthday present from me to my group and my birthday happens to fall on the release date. It might have been more expedient to simply order them through the LGS, I suppose. But then, it likely would have been less of a guaranteed order.

Not a huge deal, just a little disappointing. Certainly not angry by any stretch. Just really, really excited. :)

Same here.

I have built a couple of characters that are specifically built to utilise this rule as well. I am going to either stuff up the entire concept or House Rule the change. Only problem is it will be another DM's call on the House Rule.

You can always try cutting back one feat in your builds and take Martial Weapon Prof as the human bonus. I know it will delay some effectiveness at lower levels, but there it is. Unless the PFRPG cut back on the feat progression to 3.5's 1 every 3 levels, instead of every odd. Better yet take the opportunity and revise the builds to use an Exotic Weapon.

Halfling Sling Staff? Sounds mighty awesome.

Only problem with that is that Exotic weapon prof. requires a +1 BAB, and if you're trying to deck out your wizard or rogue, it doesn't work too well.

Yes, i guess a whole new character concept needs to be created.

It seems the scales tip more often in favor of 'procrastination pays off now', so again I am on the wrong side.

Qadira (RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32)

I am very jealous. My gf will be back from 3 weeks in India & Nepal on the 13th. I doubt I can get away with sitting reading for too long. Why did my book not teleport here right now?

I HAVE FREE TIME NOW!!!

That seems like a better candidate for a house rule then giving all humans martial prof.

Amazon is saying my order won't even ship until the 19th :(. Sigh, at this point I don't even know if they have enough books to fill my order or if I should just go get the pdf.

I GOT MY BOOK!

WOOT!

it is beautiful....sniff..sniff

btw, I didnt expect mine for another week according to the mail I got, so maybe they shipped them early, and put a later date on the mail to surprise us?

One awesome thing I noticed so far...divine bond is worded much better, and the bonus can stack with an existing weapon.

(RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16, 2012 Top 32)

Curse you Amazon!

Oh, sure, the price is lower. But the shipping date gets pushed farther and farther back with each passing day. In the mean time, the other Paizo goodness I ordered shipped early... to the wrong address!

Blope when did you get your shipping email?

Vic mentioned in another thread that all of the e-mails that were sent out say it will be shipped on Tuesday, even if they shipped some out earlier.

Yeah, come on people! City and State if you're going to gloat!

Mine came today as well. It was actually sitting outside my door. Glad it wasn't raining or stolen.

I'll refrain from making post about the content of the book until the 13th. I hope Paizo isn't upset that some of us are getting these almost a week early. It will be handy to have before GenCon, though.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Tales, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

Gloat, if mailed Tuesday, takes 5-6 days to arrive here in Lincoln,NE. From Renton to Spokane, Spokane to Denver, Denver to Omaha, Omaha to Lincoln. So, should be about the 17th-18th, before in my hands. OH WELL, should have the PDF before that. :)

I am mentally willing the delivery trucks south.

Please do us the favor and report back on what you find here.

I was wondering when the first books would start showing up. They have been busy shipping for a number of days now, and due to the randomness of the post office and various delivery services, it does not at all surprise me that some folks got them a bit early.

I'm in PA

My shipping email I got a few days ago, and said it wasnt shipping until next tues, with 4-8 days for delivery. It was a nice surprise to get early though! And excellent timing too, as I'm on vacation this coming week.

I got the other goodies too, like the module, and part one to CoT, but those have to wait. Busy reading.

Amazon is saying it will be sept8th for me! So if humans dont get the martial prof what do they get???

Andoran (RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16)

I forgot about all the e-mails showing a Tuesday shipping date, so I just checked the tracking on the UPS website.

"Your package is in the UPS system and has a rescheduled delivery date of 08/13/2009."

Couldn't ask for better timing! Nope, not going to complain about not getting it early. :)

Edit: Congrats to all who got the book early.

Sorely tempted to drive over to the warehous, break in a la Mission Impossible style and hunt for the box with my name on it. Oh, to stop the torment of waiting!

(actually, I don't mind waiting, as the anticipation is quite fun)

Yup, my own copy arrived today along with the three other things for august.

I'll volunter my experiene with covert ops for this mission. We just have to grab mine too while we're there.

I think I will open up a human racial trait for that. Take any one martial weapon proficiency or an exotic weapon proficiency if you have a proper background or already have all martial proficiencies. It still takes a slot but not a weapon slot. Pretty easy to deal with honestly.

Coridan wrote:

Just a note on Why it's there. Last Thursday we're at the office late - like 10:00 late - finishing up the dark ones' cave in James's Sandpoint game, when Jeff, Cosmo, Vic, and Lisa come on up. They'd been in the warehouse all evening packing boxes of the PFRPG. And then turned around the next day and joined Jeff S., Alison, and Brock the next day to do it some more! So yeah, there's a pretty good chance that if you have your now, it was packed by the owners/managers of the company way past their bedtimes. Just throwing that out there! It's really exciting that folks are getting this now - somehow that helps make the last months of work all real.
