I was reading another poster the other day that had very identical ideas on a stalwart defender class and was trying to get more input from the community on ways around being fatigued. I would like to prestige into defender and want to add some flavor to the build by doing other classes besides fighter to get there. I am looking for any knowledge on how to become immune to fatigue whether it be by class abilities, spells, spell like abilities or any other means. The two classes I know of to do this is oracle and horizon walker. Is there any other way in pure pathfinder to become immune to fatigue so I can so called stance dance and move? Anyone know of any items that can grant this power? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Caffeine.

Oh, wait, you mean in game. Well, there's becoming undead...

I don't know, but I have a related question:

To recover from Fatigued you need 1 hour of rest. To recover from Exhausted you need 8 hours of rest. If you are wearing the Ring of Sustenance to reduce the necessary sleep time to 2 hours, would that also apply to recovering from Exhaustion? I'd think the intent of recovering from Exhaustion would be your 8 hours of sleep.

While not a permanent solution, Lesser restoration removes fatigue. If you can find a way to get this on tap, it will help. If not, just keep a hip flask full of potions of it.

human heart of the fields racial ability from the apg ignores it 1/day

"Rest" doesn't have to mean sleep. Depending on your DM rest could mean throwing a rubber ball at the wall for six hours after sleeping for 2. Or drawing mustaches on all the characters without facial hair. Or writing the Great Chelaxian Novel.

Paladins can remove Fatigued effect with a mercy at level 3. It costs 2 lay on hands so its not generally a good deal.

Thanks everyone. All good suggestions so far. I may look into getting a magic item created at higher levels instead of all the potions. I for some reason thought some of the other classes like ranger or rogue can become immune to fatigue but cant find anything.

Oracle level 5 lame = immune to fatigue

Horizon Walker 3 desert = immune to fatigue

Horizon Walker 1 desert = immune to exhaustion (reduced to fatigue)

For Oracle don't forget that 2 hit dice are equivalent to 1 level of Oracle for the purposes of their curse.

depends how early you want it I guess

*) Cleric 2, Druid 2, Paladin 1 = Lesser Restoration = Eliminates any fatigue suffered by the character, and improves an exhausted condition to fatigued. ((cast a 2nd time to then removed the fatigued )).

*) Cleric 4, Paladin 4 = Restoration = full cures fatigued or exhaustion.

*) Cleric 7 = Greater Restoration = full cures fatigue or exhaustion

*) Cleric 6, Druid 7 = Heal = cure all.

*) Cleric 7, Druid 9 = Regenerate = removes exhaustion and fatigue.

yep, prolly cheapest in the long run to get an "at will" restoration item triggered by a command word(that is, as a swift action).

Bonus points for making the command word something outright weird.

"Fichtendickicht" or something like that ;)

Lol I like that. Hows sodobedaserebellaschnik? Im thinking the item or 5 levels of oracle are going to be the only way. Or maybe horizon walker but id have to look at the numbers. Oracle would be more my flavor most likely so I will prolly go with that. The other classes seem to be able to get rid of fatigue through spells but don't make me immune and that's what ill need to exit defensive move then re-enter defensive stance. Thanks guys this community is amazing.

Check out the level 1 bard spell Invigorate from the APG. It removes the penalties from fatigue for 10 min/level, although as written I don't think it removes the fatigued condition itself.

Thus, if a barb stops raging with invigorate in effect he is still fatigued and can't re-enter rage but doesn't suffer the str/dex/move penalties associated with fatigue.

Pretty nice for a level 1 spell if you have a barb or stalwart defender in the party.

be aware of the fact though that the DM ruling could possibly be:

that you BEGAN the round in stance=> count 1
and then you entered it anew=> count 2

So you are using an ability measured in rounds per day(if i remember correctly) up twice as fast by giving up stance, moving, re-entering stance, repeating...

just be clear on what you expect from your build and see if it flys the way you imagine it with your DM before getting too "constructive" or set on a path.

Mercies are on the use of Lay on Hands, not spending extra.

Core Rulebook wrote:

Each mercy adds an effect to the

paladin’s lay on hands ability. Whenever the paladin uses lay
on hands to heal damage to one target, the target also receives
the additional effects from all of the mercies possessed by
the paladin.

Yes i would be burning 2 stances per round IF I had to use them. A very high con score should help in this. Thank you for the heads up
