I liked the Qadira companion, but it just wasn't enough for me. I know that Paizo doesn't wish to fill in all the blanks, but if there was a guide on running desert nations, I would be thrilled to pick it up. Qadira mentions significant places, but there is little to go by inbetween. We have harpies here and harpies there, but I feel it needed a bit more. Encounter tables maybe. Descriptions of the myriad of nomad factions. Perhaps a bit describing the elements of a Qadiran army, navy, airforce? I am also curious as to how the Djinn built the structures of Qadira. What kind of terrible bindings allowed Qadirans to control so many Djinn? Are they like Eberronesque elementals that are trapped like tools?

I think covering Qadira isn't enough to justify a Pathfinder Chronicles book, but covering the other Desert Nations might have some overlap of general materials.

I also understand that Companion is for players and GMs and you guys released them to cover all the Pathfinder Society nations. What I am suggesting here goes beyond that. I also have the WotC wilderness book Sandstorm, but honestly I want something more Golarion specific that I can run.

Just a thought.

Unfortunately I hate Qadira. Hate, hate, hate. Horrible things happened to me there.

I agree (with the OP, not Zuxius 8-P), and think it could well fit into an entire Campaign Setting-sized book focusing solely on the Kelesh Empire, or perhaps also covering areas slightly outside it's control, like the swamps around the Pit of Gormuz, independent horse barbarian lands, mountainous areas with evil yak men...(!)

A substantial amount of material could be dedicated to the 'common' culture similar across all of these areas, and then each area given it's own distinctive character.

I have to say, if Paizo does something like this, it would probably be in connection with an AP, and given the 'full-on Aladdin's Lamp' style of LoF, those 'marginal' areas of the Kelesh empire would probably figure at least equally prominently in such an AP, though the 'baseline civilization' for the PCs could well be coming from the Arab-esque Kelesh Empire.

In the mean time... All I can say is pick up some old 2nd Edition al-Qadim stuff, it's great, very flavorful and sand-boxy, so draw your own map of the Kelish Empire where the Golarion map leaves off and improvise from there! (and watch out for the yak-men!)

Agreed. I am a huge fan of Al-Qadim, and there are umpteen pages of flavor text in many excellent boxed sets that can be put to good use fleshing out everything you could ever want to flesh out about the empire.

Until a source comes along and totally nulls and voids it.

I am writing s story in Qadira (see bottom of this forum) and I realize that making stuff up now will make it inaccurate later. I just want to see a serious source come and go so I can tread on solid ground. The Companion Guide brought a lot of life to Qadira, but I can still see that there is a lot that could be expanded on. I am hoping to see this sooner than later.

Thank God the Pathfinder Chronicles Seeker of Secrets came around, because my story is related to Pathfinders and their organization.

I would like to see environmental books like running a desert camapign. But I wouldn't mind seeing an Arabian Adventures hardcover either
