Damn...no way I could make it to Washington.

I doubt their will be much in the south either.

Any chance something like this might happen in Milwaukee? I could make it back up to Milwaukee.

Gencon lost it's soul when it moved from Milwaukee...the city could use a bit of gameage, and I could use an excuse to go bum around the east side again and play bumper pool.

Being from Milwaukee, I would love to see that happen. That said, I think it is unlikely. :-)

Well, I'm sure you could put it together while sitting on the "pot". Sure... most people read while taking a dump. But I'm confident you could pull it off in your spare time between grunts. I have faith in you. :o)

I think I should be careful in what I wish for.. huh?

You know what would be great. Write it up and include it in the Beta Book as a free playtesting module.

Jason showed me his adventure at Paizocon. It was one page on a notepad that he [I think] wrote up during the second panel.

Exactly, which is why it would take me more than a few minutes to pull this together. Unfortunately.

The item card prize was, if I recall correctly, a complete double set of Hero's Hoard with a complete set of foils.

(Crowd: "oooo.")

Every attendee also received three packages of HH item cards. (It's as if Paizo had a lot of them.... Hmmm... I wonder if we can get Lester Smith to invent a game with them...)

Sounds like a cozy little con with lots of fun interaction between everybody!

Wish I could attend the next one, but being on the completely opposite coast (NH) it is very unlikely unless I hit the Powerball.

Indeed! For every three attendees, there was one Paizid. So there was a lot of face time with the pros. It was a great experience!

Not unlike my "questions for Industry panel" written on the back of an envelope. Hooray for improvisation!

I told my co-worker friend (also in my gaming group) about PaizoCon, and he looked pretty impressed. Then I told him about 30 people attended, and he said "30 PEOPLE?!?" Then he started researching ticket prices to Seattle from Arkansas.

Lilith, your completed rune giant looked really, really cool! I heard that Ed won it (is that right?) What was it the prize for?

This was truly amazing. We were all surprised by the turnout from Paizo for just 30 fans. Early on a Saturday morning no less.
There were costco muffins for breakfast and a chance to chat with fellow gamers. Followed by a panel with Eric, Wessley, Wolfgang and Lisa.
Thanks for coming out to talk to us! Jason and James showed up before this panel was over and we were all thrilled to see them.

We had lunch from the Burgermaster next door. Got to talk with some gaming celebrities and play games run by them. I played a kobold in Wolfgang's adventure set in the Free City of Zobeck in the River Kingdoms of Golarion. Our party of reptilians faced off against a rather short bbeg (big bad evil gnome)
A fun game. Thank you Wolfgang.

Our Paizo party was crashed by a pair of WOTC employees but we were pleased to see them. Especially when Stephen started handing out promo miniatures.

In the prize drawing I won the Pact Magic Sourcebook written by Dario and he autographed it for me. Thanks Dario I am enjoying this. At 334 pages it will take a while to absorb it all. BTW I would recommend this book it is a fantastic value even if you pay the cover price of $39.

I got to meet Mr. Jacobs and he autographed my copy of Red Hand of Doom.

Finally thanks to Tim for organizing this.

There was as much beer and pizza as we could consume and everyone was polite and friendly. I look forward to doing it all again next year.

I had a blast too, on both sides of the screen. I look forward to running folks through some Pathfinder Society at next year's con!

Russ, how did your adventure go?

Not so well in terms of completing the objective :) All 6 PCs survived, despite my rolling 3 crits (two with scythes) during a battle with Paizo-style redcaps. Moldaven, the PC half-elf aberrant sorcerer who had hired the others, lived thanks to a prayer cutting the crit and damage down by 5 points, he landed at -9 as it was.

But by the time the group got to the abandoned church to rescue the hapless wizard, he had been reduced to a drooling lump of flesh. They say with time, he might one day be able to feed himself again.

The battles were pretty fun. Pathfinder Alpha plays a lot like 3rd edition (as one would expect), but I found the added options a big improvement. I also like how the combat feats work out in a fight - they simplify things by cutting down how many things are going on in a round.

A few things need a rescue from the nerf-bat, though - black tentacles being one of them. I also don't care for the one die roll for tentacles, even though it makes it faster.

Oh, my advice in Pathfinder is take along a cleric with the liberation domain - negating confusion and grapples is great!

Taldor Zootcat (Pathfinder Chronicles Charter Superscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Planet Stories Subscriber),

Russ's game was a lot of fun. He took an adventure that he had originally written for Greyhawk and adapted it for Golarion. He said that it wasn't hard to do. I enjoyed seeing Pathfinder redcaps in there. And even though we didn't exactly complete our objective, I enjoyed the outcome. Something about seeing a guy get get his brain fried right before you get to him, and then realizing he'll never be the same again is somehow... satisfying. That sounds crazy! I mean it in the sense of a satisfying plot twist at the end of a story that says "Gotcha!"

I played a dwarven fighter. I used the new Backswing feat A LOT. It's very effective.

Thanks for running that game for us Russ!

heh...

Early on at the con, I snapped a picture in which Mr. McArtor appeared. He asked to see my camera, I assumed that he wanted to see the picture and perhaps snap a few pictures himself.

When I got my camera back, all pictures in which he appeared had been deleted from my camera.

This, of course, made it a game. Mostly fruitless on my part, since I was trying to capture a ninja on film (disk? memory? whatever you call it for a digital camera).

It did, however, result in a great picture of Mike skillfully hiding behind Ed Healy, who was graciously leaning back to allow Mike to get in the picture. The longer I held off taking the picture, the further back they both leaned. When I finally took the picture, I got this.

Priceless. :)

Ninjas, it would seem, are naturally camera-shy.

But wait: 23 employees? Oh my god! I'm just watching "number 23". I strongly suggest that you hire someone else before you start tearing each other apart!

Maybe you could hire a boy to keep your candy stash filled up or something. Anything to keep the knives at bay.

Do you want to be a fat living dragon, or a skinny mad and dead one? (First mad, then dead).

Before you think too long: Let him bring you fresh veggies.

Or get an aerobic trainer. Those Google guys have saunas and gyms, so I guess someone who will come by once per week and make you tie knots into yourself would be okay for Paizo. (And if that's still too expensive for your lives, get a Wii with Balance board and give it a name).

As in Schwenkbraten. But also as in Schenker.

You see, the Schwenker is the tree-legged device you put over the fire to schwenk the meat (that's the real way to broil meat).

A Schwenker is the piece of meat you put onto the Schwenker, too.

The Schwenker is also the guy who operates the Schwenker with the Schwenkers on it.

So the Schwenker schwenks Schwenkers with a Schwenker.
