good morning, in first, i kindly ask you to excuse me for my poor english ^^

I'm the Dm of a french group of players and we are going to start the RotR AP, it's for this reason that I plan to perform an illustration representing the most importants Npcs of this AP.
I begin by Nualia. I'd made her in Poser 8, postworks with Photoshop. Comments and critics are welcome of course ^^ (oops, I have just seen that I have forget to make scars lol)
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/2572/nualia.jpg
to your opinion, what Npcs are the most interesting to do in this AP (apart the "big villains" of every volume, i will try to do them all) ?

Excellent!

<b>In Chapter One - Burnt Offerings</b>:
Ameiko
Tsuto
Elyrium
Shalelu (she returns in Chapter 3)
Chief Ripnuggest
Sherriff Hemlock
Aldren Foxglove (in human form)

There's lots of memorable ones in Chapter One, you could do more easily.

<b>Chapter 2</b>

Iesha Foxglove
Portraits of the Foxglove Family
Farmer Grump
The Scarecrow
Justice Ironbriar
Grayst Seville

<b>Chapter 3</b>

The Graul Family - Specifically Mammy, Crowfoot, Rukus, and Hucker
Lady Lucretia (in human form)
Maelin Shreed (town mayor and priest)

That's enough to get you started!

My vote is for Ironbriar, not to fond of the original artwork, so an alternative would be great.

Wow, this looks good!

my vote goes to Ironbriar too.
and Mama Graul...

she looks perfect, just there is no way to give her white or silver hair?

Fixed
mmm I would say Ameiko or Shalelu, but I am biased...

Silver hair like that ?

http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/4953/nualia2.jpg

i will look on the description of Ironbriar to make it.

Nualia2

fixed, checking

mmm
mmm
tricky question, indeed I remembert its sort like that (or maybe a little more silver-white) mmm, it has the tone to make her look older

not your fault... its the color in general... mmm silkyw hite wouldgive the same impresion...

yet she looks good :D

Wow that is really great. How long does it take you to do that?

@ Montalve: yes, she seems older, it's for this reason that i decide to make her blonde^^ and also in comparison with the total contrast of the picture, the silver hair didn't fit very well. It's especially because of the texture of the armour, both colours are close and it forms a group which ages Nualia

@ Vaellen: it take me 4 hours to make her. The longest is to have a total idea of picture and, especially, face.

I've see Ironbriard, for the moment i prefer to do the Npcs of the first chapter and I have also the pc to do. I'll make him but later. A little question, i made test for him: do you think that he has to wear a thief or a priest outfit ?

I'll make two or three characters this week end.

Kourkenko,

If you're doing Chapter One first..

I would definitely do Aldren Foxglove, as a human. He's in two chapters, and it will be good for your players to be able to contrast his original appearance with his monster-ghoul form.

I would also do Shalelu, as she returns later with a larger part in Chapter 3.

Many players fall in love with Ameiko, so she is another good choice.

I'd have Ironbriar wearing more priestly garb...

EXCELLENT WORK!

understandable Kourkenko, and she looks well in blond.

mmm for Ironbriar? he is a judge... priest garb is ok

Wahoooouuu !!! Mais tu es doué en plus !!!

Sorry !... Your drawing is absolutely amazing ! Please give us more !

Although the drawing is very good, Nualia needs a bit more of twisted evil on her face. At he moment she looks too nice if you see what I mean.
Nualia has also scars on her belly AND a demon-like arm.

The skull bra need also a bit of volume ... At the moment it looks too much like silked bra with skulls printed on it. :D

Apart from that " c'est fantastique !!"

i've only made Shalelu today, i did'nt have time for more, i'll continue tuesday.

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/6730/shalelu.jpg

To be noest, i'm not really satisfied, i've got numerous problem with a script which made crash Poser. Textures are not at the top.

@ Chewbacca, for the scars i've forgot to made them ^^ and the demon arm (like the illustration in the book) it doesn't have really seemed important that we see it entirely.
Yes, the skull bra is just what it seem: a texture on an armor ^^, i can ameliorate them but it will take me more time than 4 hours of works :p.

i'm working on Aldren

ok i find the problem with the script, now you can see the differences ^^

yes, you can ^^ and if you need pics (on the runelords or other), ask and i will see what i can do

it's aldren, I know that he has a naïve air. I made it deliberately, so the difference with the second volume will be flagrant.

on the other hand, I am unable to lay the hand on a description or a picture of Ameiko... the day was long ^^ Where i can find one ???

There is a picture of Ameiko in the Sandpoint article at the end of RotRL #1. She is a proprietor of one of the taverns in Sandpoint.

Btw, nice pictures! :)

Wow, that's some amazing art!

Is there a way to make scars on Nualia's belly?

That, along with the hand you've already done so well, will really make her stand out.

@ catdragon : thank for your comment ^^

@ Lopke: thank you to and yes, i can do the scars, i forgot to made them when i do the render. I must acknowledge that these illustrations are really fast made, for an internet gaming site, i'll do an illustration in 15 (in the quickest) or 30 hours (it is often more). Aldren was made in one hour, i made Ameiko faster than him.
This characters are in "unique usage" that's why I make them fast, without paying too much attention to details or to defects. For example, the right wrist of Nualia has a conflict between the glove and the armour. After all, my players will see them one time, two perhaps, no more. That's why to make scars or to ameliorate her expression is not an immediate preference. I do not see usefulness to make them definite if my players see them only once...

So, i can do a really better job but rhythm will be much slower. I ask you therefore what you prefer, of quick pictures but in quantities or without defects but much longer to make ? In the second case, I would concentrate only on the figures really important, not those that the players once see then die or disappear from history (apart the big and bad villains, i like to do villains ! They're cool ^^)

First off very nice work.

Now to answer the question, me personally I would rather them be the highest quality always. Simply cause you never know who will end up be a reoccuring NPC in a game and the pic get used a lot. The villians are less likely to be used. But regardless they are nice and will get used. Thanks.

I am more in the camp of quick-and-dirty. Most of the ones that are critical already have art in the AP, so I'd prefer quick renders of the ones that aren't in the AP. PLUS, this let's the artist not spend so much time doing the rest of us a favor, since the quick render is what he prefers too.
On a separate note: shouldn't this be linked into the Community Created thread?

nah I think theyd eserve their own place... the community created is for magic things and maps ... here to his craft, sounds good to me

and btw... Ameiko Fixed

I am not saying to delete this thread, just put a link to it in the other. It is stickied and as this thread gets moved lower on the heap, no one will see this greAt stuff. Besides, that thread does already include artwork.

i'm sorry but i was really busy this weeks, i have no time for the moment to continue so i will continue to make characters fast.
I will finish the fisrt book this week ^^
