Have you guys seen any products or resources that work well as maps for the locations in Burnt Offerings or The Skinsaw Murders? I enjoy detailed and realistic combat maps, but the only ones that I've seen so far were for the first battles in the AP, so my game had already passed that point.

Yeah, I loved the maps made for the festival battles in # 1, but things have dried up since then :(

(Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

My plan for Misgivings is to have each level mapped in outline before the session, each on their own battle map. The PCs know the size and shape of the house, so I'll have the exterior of the second floor in place, for example, and I'll sketch in details as they learn them.

I want to keep everything tense, without falling out of initiative. If I had to stop and measure and draw any time they used some stairs it would kill the tension. I'll give them specific breaks, but I want to decide when those are rather than having them imposed on me because I'm not prepared.

I probably shouldn't say this..

But I did Dundjinni maps for a lot of Burnt Offerings. The Glassworks, Catacombs, and the three layers of Thistletop.

I'll probably doing them for Chapter 2 as well.

Problem is, under the current EULA of Dundjinni (which the admit they need to revise, but are slow and sluggish apparantly to do), it can't be posted on a website for public use. I used a mix of homebrew, and user based artwork and their proprietary artwork.

They're not perfect maps, but they're good approximations of what is in the books. Once I got to Thistletop I realized I was burning a lot of toner, and my maps started becoming lighter colors, less intense images. But I was kinda proud of the Glassworks myself, I was disappointed it didn't get more use for the time I put in it.

I'm not sure the difference between e-mailing these maps directly to someone, and posting them on a website.

See what I'm getting at? I don't care that much myself, just don't want to get a hassle from anybody (like a Dundjinni cop).

Post something if you're interested.

I'll post that I'm interested. You don't actually need dunjini to view the maps do ya?

Color me interested, as well :).

Good Lord, I thought there might be one person.

Heh.

Lilith is right.. I export them to .bmp format, so no special viewers are required. The files are kinda big, so I'll zip them into individual folders. There might be a couple e-mails.

Some can be cropped even further to reduce the file size, save paper and ink. I'm not a graphically inclined person, so bear that in mind. I got Dundjinni to overcome a shortcoming, to enhance a natural talent. Eh.. but they came out pretty good. They'll bridge the the mind's eye to the actual descriptive tet.

If I don't do it this afternoon, I will do it when I come home from work this evening.

IrfanView is a freeware image viewing software which you can use to convert the Bitmap files to e.g. .jpg files. It's been a while since I used it, so I can't remember if you can batch convert a lot of images automatically.

Edit: You can indeed batch convert a whole list of images.

Please, color me interested as well: amarlowe1520 at gmail.com, thanks for sharing.

Also if you don't mind sharing the Dundjinni source I can make the maps into PDF files.

b) a list of about half-a-dozen names of people you haven't e-mailed, if this is taking up a lot of your bandwidth or time

Thanks!

Actually you're not too late. I just sent them. I'm late. :)

Tonight is my eighth wedding anniversary. I'm a US citizen married to a wonderful British lady, and we got married at Treasure Island in Las Vegas on Guy Fawkes Day. Tonight we had a simple celebratory dinner of Kentucky Fried Chicken, and treated ourselves to the first season of Dr. Who on DVD (first season of the new series).

And now, now I'm really worried that this will be a big anticlimax for some of you. Eh.. I did the best I could. I almost always making these maps 48 hours before I had to use them, and they still all have a real rushed feeling to them.. and once my players had gone through the section, I had no good reason to go back and refine them.

Anyway, I hope they're useful. If they suck, please spare my poor feelings. :)

Oh.. Someone said my maps helped them in the past? That was Erian_7, he deserves that credit. But he inspired me to try to do it for myself.

And the first three posters didn't leave their e-mails, and they had nothing on their profile.

If no one posts anything more, heh, then everyone else will know not to expect too much. (shrug) Then again, maybe I'm being too hard on my maps.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Tales Subscriber)

Great job Jim!
Absolutely no worries about the quality of the maps. I'm looking forward to using these in the next weeks when my players are going to explore the catacombs and Thistletop.

I've sent Jim (Watcher!) jpg's of the files, reduced the filesizes quite a bit, so he might send those out to anyone else requesting them.
I've also tagged the showroom onto the rest of the glassworks in case anyone requests a "complete" map of the glassworks.

Edit: Almost forgot... Happy Anniversary!!! :-D

I was one of the no e-mail posts....
Blastin@aol.com

Congrats on the anniversary!

Enjoy the Dr Who. The new seasons have been fun. I really liked Christopher Eccleston, and was sad to see him go so quickly, but I slowly grew fond of David Tennant, too.

I'd like to put in another request for those maps, please.

Watcher - These are just what the doctor ordered! Frankly, such generousity on your anniversary is staggering. My wife would hold my PC under lock and key on my anniversary!

Many thanks!

Please send. rosswolf@msn.com Thanks!

Totally helpful, Watcher!

Congratulations on the anniversary, and on choosing a Brit :D Vegas-meets-Bonfire Night is one cross-cultural exchange I never expected to hear about!

The maps are great, much better than anything I could cack-handedly cook-up.

cheers.

Thanks again.... you're a generous man, and a complete asset to these boards-
Happy anniversary bud!

Happy Anniversary!

I'd also like the maps, and I'll second the offer to send them to a list of people instead of eating up more of your bandwitch if it's a problem.
