I was wondering if there was a players guide for the kingmaker adventure path I can get somewhere. I can't seem to find it, does anyone know if it is planed, or what its called, or when it will be released? Tx
I believe James mentioned it would be released when the first chapter went on sale, more commonly known as the date it hits the streets.
Just my 2 cp.

Kingmaker will have some source material in "Guide to the River Kingdoms," and there'll be a free "Player's Guide to Kingmaker" PDF once the AP launches.
Ironically, the bit in GttRK about the area Kingmaker starts in has probably the least real information (The Stolen Lands). Though there are a few spoilers
Spoiler:
Outsea is mentioned to get a lot more information in AP 32, so it's likely that you're going 'under the sea' in that book.
Outsea plays no role in Kingmaker's adventures, but in Pathfinder 32, we do present stats for the anglerfish people that China invented in his Outsea article.
Probably bit of a spoilering question but will PC's be "conquering" all of the River Kingdoms, or just The Stolen Lands? Was kind of under the impression they would be taking over all of them (not that they couldn't if they really want to).

Kingmaker is set only in the Stolen Lands, with a little bit of bleedover into Pitax. The PCs will be more or less taking control of...
Spoiler:
...as much of the Stolen Lands as they can control, and also possibly conquering Pitax if things go well for them. They won't be going into other parts of the River Kingdoms at all; there's just no room in 6 adventures to cover that huge of a sandbox in the level of detail we want. Also, we LIKE having the River Kingdoms be a bunch of different kingdoms; they're not called the River Kingdom (singular) after all! Once Kingmaker's done, the PCs will rule a new kingdom along the northeast border of the River Kingdoms, and if they want to continue expanding and conquering the remaining River Kingdoms, that's something that'll have to take place after the AP is over.
The Stolen Lands plus Pitax would make the PC's the biggest off the River Kingdoms changing the balance of power in the region quite dramatically.
I can see lot's of(offscreen) Politics in this one.
That, combined with the fact that the PCs will be coming out of this AP as 18th level characters or so more or less ensures that there'll be some interesting ramifications if a group decides to keep playing after the end of Kingmaker. The last volume will include an extra article that covers this topic.
I am so looking forward to this...still another 2 weeks or so to wait though..which gives me plenty off time to work my way through GttRK and work out reponses from various rulers.
I'm really looking forward to seeing it as well! March can't come soon enough.
Same here!

Some of the events of Kingmaker #5 involve the PCs, having established themselves as rulers of the Stolen Lands, branching out and engaging with other rulers in the RKs. Early on in the AP, I would imagine the other RKs would look at the PCs as pretty much yet another band of yahoos with delusions of grandeur. Once they start having some success, that's when things start to get interesting...
Will the AP include a meeting of the River Kingdom leaders? The name of the group escapes me at the moment, but that sorta political intrigue style game is something you guys do well and could be very interesting.

Don't have the chronicles book with me but I want to say "Bandit Council."

It will not. Although this element MIGHT be mentioned in the "Continuing the Campaign" article that's going to appear in the last volume.

Will there be any other courtly intrigue type adventure? Mostly just curious - it's not a must have for me, but I always like to see what you guys can do with those types of games (e.g., the AoW adventure with the banquet of nasty foods).

There's an element of this in the "Events" section of running a kingdom. And now and then there'll be similar events worked in to the plots of the adventures. There's going to be a big tournament too; that's probably as close as Kingmaker's going to get to the big court event. The majority of the campaign is concerned with exploration and questing and the like, though.
The way the kingdom building rules work, though, you can spend a LOT of time with them roleplaying out each phase. Or if that's not to your liking, it's also doable with a few quick rolls of the dice.

That sounds right...
Outlaw Council, boys. Outlaw Council. ;-)
They gather in Daggermark, which is in the western part of the River Kingdoms. Meanwhile, the Stolen Lands (and the Kingmaker AP) takes place on the extreme eastern edge of the River Kingdoms. That doesn't mean you might not meet an agent or two of the Outlaw Council, though. :->

That's great news. I was concerned about the continuing decrease of level ranges in Pathfinder.
The only Pathfinder to "decrease" level ranges was Council of Thieves, though. The others, IIRC, all had roughly the same levels, with the final adventure starting at 14th or 15th level.
In any event, and as I've said before... each Adventure Path will cover the levels it needs to cover to tell its story. We generally TRY to aim to have them finishing at 17th level or thereabouts, but sometimes the story has them ending sooner simply due to the way the authors construct the adventures and number of encounters.
But so far... and I'm just starting work on part 4 this week... we're still on schedule to cover 3 levels of experience per adventure. (note that also assumes you're giving out XP for exploration, completing quests, and building kingdoms, since those elements are just as important in Kingmaker as are the elements that see PCs killing and looting monsters.)
I was really bummed out because I'm missing a con this weekend, but I just heard that the Kingmaker Player's Guide is out. It made my day. Now if I can just get the stupid printer to work (not to mention coaxing it to work so I can print out the PFS mod I'm running tomorrow at the game store...)
Awesome!!! The traits were great and flavorful and the city/kingdom building stuff looks much more detailed then I had first imagined. Especially loved all the small icons of the various buildings. This is going to be great.
I take it that Tieflings in this AP would more likely be of a "Demonic" bloodline coming from the World Wound?
There's not much influence from the Worldwound in the Stolen Lands. So tieflings can be of any lineage they want.
And! Yeah, I guess I mentioned it already in some other post. BP = Build Points, the currency in which you build kingdoms, cities, and (come Pathfinder #35) armies.

Hmm. Can you hire powerful outsiders, to support your armies, with Build Points? Get a high priest to call up an archon and offer it a lot of grain and timber to do whatever archons do with that sort of thing (provide emergency relief aid in disaster hit areas elsewhere?) in exchange for aforementioned archon providing assistance with bringing to justice assorted bad guy rulers in neighbouring realms?
(Obviously spending kingdom resources on hiring some puritanical, moralising, goody-goody archon might not go down too well with some of the ne'er do'wells who grudgingly pay the taxes however...)
Harvest Festivals... oooh, Carnival of Tears is oh so totally going to be a sidetrek in this AP !

OMG, that map on page 11 is so damn beautiful! I wish the Inner Sear Region map would have had this style.
I hope, we see more of those maps in the future!
Absolutely brilliant!!!

Mass Combat rules aren't going to be out until Pathfinder #35 first of all. But you COULD put anything in charge of an army; all that matters is that their HD + their Cha mod is higher than the army's CR that they command, basically. And you'll need the commander's Charisma modifier handy. That's all you need to know about an army commander.
As for an entire ARMY of outsiders... you can do that too, but that could well get expensive fast.
As for an army of a bunch of, say, infantry men that also includes a powerful outsider... nope. The mass combat rules won't support mixed units like that; that's beyond the scope of these rules' simplicity. You COULD do an army of 1000 infantrymen and 1 powerful outsider as two different armies that fight side by side, though.
Kingdoms and cities use completely different rules than armies & mass combat. You could absolutely hire an outsider to fufill a leadership role, but since all a leadership role needs is a single ability score modifier, that's sort of a waste when a high-stat human can work just as well in that leadership role.
Hiring powerful outsiders to help with specific problems facing your nation will function normally, since if you want to get involved on a personal level, say, with defending your nation from a band of bandits, you use the normal rules to go on an adventure.
