Edit - Jared, you have a lot of potential, but you need to learn to temper how you present your personal opinion. You can disagree with someone without being either insulting or a total jerk. Please try it sometime. You might find that you like it and people respond better to what you say.

Oh no, I just thought it would be funny to see your reaction to it. Well played sir.

Yeah, sure, plus f~!~ing one.

Oh, get over it, Jared. There is already a thread for this. Yes, he has failed to deliver and to manage expectations effectively, and has pissed people off. But Nick is not a malicious fraudster, he is a guy suffering from tragic over-optimism. He feels badly about it, very badly. So badly, in fact, he may not write anything RPG-related again, if his words on the subject are anything to go by. And that is probably because of the huge amount of negative rep and stress he is getting over Sinister and Razor Coast. Stuff like the boorish crap you are spewing out.

Personally, I don't think Nick never writing for Paizo, Sinister or anyone else is a good thing. He is a great writer if he is also a lousy businessman. Let's just get off his case and let him finish what he is doing, and let him do what is good for him as a person going forward. He doesn't need to be morally judged by you, or anyone. So stop acting like he shot your dog. I mean, have you even ordered Razor Coast? If not, what the hell is your problem? If you are just trolling, please don't bother.

Like the great Wolfgang Baur (who both writes and publishes, in addition to juggling chainsaws and being an all-round great guy) pointed out sometime, you can be a great writer, but publishing is a whole different ball game. Not a game everybody can play, Nick's story is a great cautionary tale, now let's get over that and hope that Nick writes something for Paizo again.

I seriously hope that it's not true Logue's retired from writing RPG materials, because his Pathfinder adventures (and, before that, his adventures in Dungeon magazine) are among my all-time favorites and it genuinely bums me out to hear that he may not write more.

I had no inkling about any of the Razor Coast stuff until I read this thread, but the dude is way too talented to just up and quit. It'd be a terrible waste if he did.

Two years. Big effing deal. You have any idea how long a whole bunch of us stood there on the road to Nulb, waiting for the 'soon'-to-be-released ToEE?? That finally came out, what? Six or seven years later? I didn't start writing hate mail to Gary Gygax. I just thought, 'damn, wish that next part would come out...'

This is what I know

Nick Logue is one of the BEST RPG writers in the industry.

He is very busy with his new job.

I sorely miss him, his adventures and his posts.

Life happens.

And lastly I know that when he writes or produces anything else I WILL buy it and welcome him back to our geeky fold with open arms.

6-7 years? Hah! Try fifteen and counting...

While we're on the topic, the original Warhammer FRP book (released 1986) mentioned the magic supplement Realms of Sorcery and described it as 'forthcoming'. It was eventually released (for WFRP 2nd Ed.) in 2001.

Model-train-guy? Did we grow up in the same town? ... No, probably not, just the same FLGS era.

So, Nick took pre-orders but didn't deliver on time and refunded the money? What's the problem again?

Jared did you run any events at Paizocon? I thought i saw your name next to a game.

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path Subscriber)

I pre-ordered Razor Coast and don’t regret it at all. I’ll get it when I get it and I’m sure it will be great. And if I never get it I’ll be disappointed that I don’t get to read the product, but who cares about the money; it’s not like I’m going to miss a few dollars I spent weeks / months / years back – besides, the way I see it, the money I spent at that time funded Nick being able to put up his website, spend the time posting and chatting on it, and enable him to put out his excellent (and missed) Indulgences line super cheap – so that is money very well spent from my point of view even if I never get Razor Coast (though I am sure I will).

I didn't pre-order RC, but when it does come out I'm going to be all over it like shingles, especially after all the enjoyment I got out of the Indulgences.

Plus, Polynesia is one of the holes that needs to be filled in my global d20 fantasy library.

Folks obviously have other issues going on here. The thread's served its purpose in revealing the mysterious fate of Nick Logue. Please refrain from unnecessary personal attacks or arguments like this on the boards.

Since the thread's served its purpose, I'm locking down the thread. I'm also suppressing the last several posts to keep things from perhaps spilling over into other threads.

Play nice, folks! Thanks! :)
