Turns out my group actually flushed him out so it wasn't a problem. But yeah, I tried thinking of other solutions. Your UMD was the best I could come up with. I could also have given him one level in a class that gets a familiar or animal companion but that seemed like more work than should be required. I was quite surprised at how that encounter went. But it's still ongoing so I'll wait until it's well past before I comment on it again. I know at least one of my players skims these forums. :) |
