Well done Amber Scott, just a big thanks for an awesome article... tieflings just got a bigger slice of my (in build) PFRPG campaign! Oh I just LOVE rolling a d100, reminds me of my early ADnD days. Great fun making up Tieflings with all sorts of odd traits, will keep the players on their toes ;-)

And, BTW, can anyone help me to where the Tiefling race game stats are? I am playing 4E ATM and my 3E brain as atrophied, I have pretty much all the books... EDIT: ignore the question, sorry

EDIT: It is on d20srd.org but has a LA :-(

is there some PF source for the with no LA due to be published, I guess maybe the bestiary

Based on the power boost all PF races have received, I've adopted the quick and dirty rule of treating any 3.5 race with a +1 LA (half-giants, tieflings) as a ready-to-go Pathfinder race without level adjustment. Your mileage may vary, but I'd go ahead and use tieflings as written.

Yeah that would be my plan, I really hope they are in the Bestiary anyway :-)

They're listed in the Bonus Bestiary as a race/creature to be in the final Bestiary. So you're in luck!

I think the rough guesstimate on the boards is that Tieflings are ready to go, if you swap the stat adjustments to Dex +2, Int +2, Wis -2, rather than the 3.5 Cha penalty.

If your wanting something PF for tiefling before OCT when the beastiary comes out, the new Council of Thieves has at least two to three pages.

I believe tieflings no longer come with la, but as for stats, the AP at least presents options for different stats determined randomly unless you select a feat, which lets you not only decide which stat set to take but also lets you roll extra on the tiefling traits d100 table and pick which of the rolled ones you want.

No matter what, it will probably remain in the air until oct, but I am pretty sure you are going to be PF legit, if you follow the CoT AP1 guidelines. Maybe Paizo will release the info earlier for tieflings due to their likely being far more prominent in this AP. What would truly be awesome is if they would allow it for PF society. Still no matter what, PF society only looks to get more awesome with the PFRPG book coming out.

It doesn't work so well with Goliaths, but otherwise I haven't run into any problems using this method.

There is a list of races in the PfRPG Core Book which are tentatively given the green flag for player characters.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tiefling article. I love the random traits and abilities. I also love the whole attitude towards the tieflings. First time I've ever liked the tiefling as a race.

I can do without the tiefling artwork. It looks like a collection of exotic coatracks. The gal on page 63 probably has to turn sideways to get her horns through doorways. Less Billy Goat Gruff and more Lavender Lil' please?

forget about lavender! ;)

Lets see more of Sharofa Pamodae style artwork.

I second Shorafa's request!!!

Expect plenty more "Sexy" tieflings, no worries!

I'm probably doing pretty much that, only removing Favored Class entirely. Assuming the rules are as they were in the beta, the choice of a HP per level or skill point per level being removed seems a decent way to level the playing field. Yeah, if someone doesn't play a race's FC it's all a wash, but it seems reasonable to me.

for those who haven't checked, tieflings as a race are addressed in the Beasty preview.

When are Aasimar gonna get some love!?

(Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Tales Subscriber)

Tiefling was likely included only to help with this AP. They'll likely be in the beasty book.

Devas are the new equivalent to Aasimars, who were little more than white, good tieflings.

I do, however, lament the loss of the Cansin and Axani, I'd love to see the equivalents in 4e, and they could really use some support. They suffered from the same thing.

3.5 stats for the Deva, along with new chaotic and lawful planetouched? would just be awesome.

What are you talking about?

You must be thinking of "Aasimon"

I hate Aasimar being referred to as "good" Tieflings.
It totally blows how they always take a backseat to them.

tsk tsk a cheliax asking for aasimars. ;)
Bad Cheliaxan!!!!
I will see that your properly reported.
This will hurt me more than it will hurt you. Honestly, it pains me so.

In truth, when done right, Aasimars can be pretty awesome; storywise and artwise. Im sorry, what, who said that!!!???
