Uh oh. I think I'm sensing the emergence of Paizocon's first Iconics and NPC Costume Contest! Right here, right now. We'll look back and say, this is where it all began.

Also, it must start outside so Avianna can use that outrageous fire spewing trick!

That's what we get for just copying your name, Eric. In all fairness, Mona should legally change the spelling of his name to better suit our answers, don't you think?

No.

I am so happy we spelled it right! Our table had no idea what to put for the true name of the Whispering Tyrant, so our designated answer-writer put "Eric Mona" down. Luckily I had just come from several panels that he was on and he had been wearing his name tag. I suggested switching the "C" to a "K" just as they picked up our answer sheet. It's a good thing I did too, since everyone else is getting mocked for misspelling it.

In all fairness, my brother Shirak (no, that's his real name, not his screen name) hadn't gamed in well over a decade and a half. He lives on the West coast, and I live on the East, so we don't see each other more than once every few years -- let alone game together.

I invited him to GenCon 08, to which he came, largely to hang out. He didn't pursue events, missed sign ups and didn't really get cons at the time. I asked Nick Logue and Josh Frost if they'd squeeze him into a few Pathfinder Society events. Knowing him and knowing Pathfinder, I figured he'd get hooked.

He did.

Now he's avid for Pathfinder, genuinely engaged by the IP as a whole and Society in particular. He came to Paizocon with me, and this time he was downright lasered in on getting the events he wanted, dammit!

And I got to see my brother twice this year. It'll be three times counting GenCon '09.

In a very real way, I can say Paizo gave me my brother back. Or at least the excuse and opportunity to see him and to share something with him about which we're both enthused.

That also means, being new to Pathfinder, he hasn't received a lot of product from Erik. Yet. But he sure as hell knows how to spell the man's name now, product or no!

Thank you, Paizo.

So our amnesic wizard (played by Derek Poppinink) has a moment of clarity and ingeniously crafts a small wooden house for the agoraphobic cleric (played by Pete Apple) hiding in the corner. The cleric runs into the house and the tide of the battle turns a bit as the party now has divine support against the evil blackguard. Then the badly beat up paladin and barbarian run for the newly minted wooden house in hopes of getting a heal and the blackguard blows up the paladin and the barbarian with a fireball, and catches the house on fire...

You were great as the cleric Pete! That game was a blast.

You were all great! And yes, Cursed Lot was my favorite part of PaizoCon, for the second year in a row!

Where else can you play:
An Amnesic Wizard that hears barking dogs
An Agoraphobic Cleric in a carriage (and her warhorse, Daisy)
A Barbarian that panics at the sight of blood
A Rogue that's afraid of the dark
A Paladin under a permanent "Suggestion"
A Hemopheliac, OCD Monk that counts everything he sees

Extremely creative and lots of opportunities to play off one another.

"The Monk is bleeding! Turn him off! Gaaa!"

And the wooden house! Brilliant!

Its really kinda funny.. both years now, I have pretty much poured all my energy into the characters, then pulled out the simplest of plots and let the havoc begin. Its surprising how well it works... well, with horribly cursed PCs anyway.

I agree...the Cursed Lot II was the highlight of my gaming experiences at Paizocon (so many AWESOME things, I have to categorize them), and even moreso because I did not think I had gotten into it.

I had just finished up Greg Vaughn's Slumbering Tsar game (which, btw, is outstanding!) and was preparing to go grab lunch and review my afternoon of panels, when LO! I see that I have a ticket to "Cursed Lot II". I had tried to snag the last seat when it came up after the lottery, but thought I had lost out. Soooo, I find Jason's table, and ask "How's it going?" Fully expecting to hear that they've started with all hands. Jason answered, "We seem to be short one player...."

The barbarian was, once again, a hoot to play. And the interaction with the other players and THEIR curses (I'm looking at YOU, Zoomackulas/Rob) was a perfect way to crank up the Cursed Lot up a notch. I'm still chuckling about the rogue....with darkvision....so funny.

Go here and in the Photos box in the middle of the page, you should see "Add Photos" on the right-hand side. Click that, then choose your own album and photos to add. The "select all" button at the bottom might be quickest. Then you're done! See, wasn't that easy?

Alas, I see no such button in the photos section. I even tried scrolling through all the photos to see if there was a link at the end, but no joy.

EDIT: Never mind, tis DONE! Tim N. pointed out that in order to add photos you have to RSVP first. Done and done!

I think it's because you haven't joined the Event. I sent you an invite (yes, I KNOW it's over now, but....) so that may solve the problem. I hope.

I've kinda avoided this topic...

Honestly, to number any of them, wouldn't do them justice. Every game I was in was amongst the best things I've ever done at a con. They were all simply amazing. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the Merry Jackanapes but then I owe that to Boomer pushing us all and still making us feel comfortable amongst strangers. That's a tough trick.

Sitting down with Jason Nelson and his game was a pleasure. His GMing style is just a lot of fun and I can't wait to spring a few of the little side bits on my players.

Jason Buhlman had us hopping in some of the most ridiculously fun characters ever, and I do mean ridiculous. Getting a cheatery look at a few of the final PFRPG rules was delicious.

Lilith paints a mean chinatown and the twists on that were really great. We had a ton of fun and playing some d20 modern was an extra cool kick for Immora who can never players. And thanks for the cookies.

The Wayfinder was super cool. I can't believe I'm in it with so many really creative people, but hearing people either tearing it down or saying that they wanted to play it or see it in their campaign was... just... wow.

Also, I wanted to thank Cosmo for making sure I got my dice. They helped loads. ^_^

I have to say, you guys throw a great shindig.
