I didn't realize that was you at Blake's table, Sara, I'm sorry! I'm wondering if I talked to Quandry while I was there and just didn't know his name. Next year we need bi-level name tags with our screen name and actual name!
Getting a chance to meet and see the faces behind the products I have played for years... and realize they are geeky gamers like me who throw themselves into their work.
Playing in Erik's (spelled correctly) game. He mentioned he will eventually get around to writing it up so I will not spoil the plot. I hope to see it as a gamemastery module.
Listening to Monte Cook talk about exploration for exploration's sake. It made me miss the old days of dungeon crawls. Seeing my best friend get his book signed by Dr. Cook.
Dinner was great... for 5$ OMG we ate enough to feed a small country!
Getting my submission rejected by Josh. There are a lot of shoot in the dark things about submissions. I have to admit, I thought the idea I came up with was kind of unique until I got there and three of the submissions were very similar to my own. All of the ideas were good, execution is what makes the diffrence. Josh had less to say about the ideas and more about gramatical errors, the dreaded ";" and the fact that Venture-Captain was hyphenated. I can not blame him, he admitted to being an english major (I am a computer science major and CS will really F#@$ up your english). Anyway, his critique was precise and dead on, no one in the room felt insulted and it was an hour well worth the $800.00 air fare. Next time there is an open call, those of us in the room will be more equipped to deal with the technical pitfalls of submission writing. Thanks again Josh!

Eric and Blake thanks for the great Tides of Morning game, I hope you all enjoyed the cats as much as I did. Eric, you might want to consider a level of ranger with hated enemy - felines, to enhance you title as cat-killer.

Yes, I did enjoy the game. Thanks Kelly! I joined into the PFS games just so I could meet more people and have something to do during those time slots and I wound up pleasantly surprised at the good times from both of the PFS games I played.
I'm looking forward to next year.
Oddly enough, I wasn't even sure how to portray a Qadiran princess. Pasha Muhlia was supposed to be all business-like and interested in profit-margin, return on investment, and portfolio risk management for any and all Qadiran shipping and caravan concerns. And, when I sent my Qadrians off to the next room to find "Amal" (my moneychanger and major-domo), I don't even think poor Russ Taylor knew that was supposed to be him. Thankfully, he found the Qadrians and sent them on their faction missions anyway.
Eventually I figured out that Amal was the missing "pivot" role. I think it might have worked better to have all of us in the back come into the front, and round up tables that way.
and the fact that Venture-Captain was hyphenatedHyphenated, AND not capitalized. Use "venture-captain" unless describing a specific person, like Venture-Captain Hapless McFreely.

These rules are all presented in the Pathfinder Wiki manual of style. I'm waiting to get an official Paizo style guide to incorporate, but Wes said one doesn't exist.
And the number of times a hapless Qadiran wandered around asking if I was Amahl was more than I could count. Poor Qadirans. There's just no hope sometimes, it there?

Or...if the "front" folks could have met with the "back" folks and discussed how we'd hand off the faction members, that would have worked better, I think. Unfortunately, I got pulled in literally 2 minutes before they started letting people through the door. So, regrettably that didn't leave any time to sync up with you. I hadn't even seen the back room...much less, have an understanding of how things worked back there. But if we do it all again, I'll be better prepared. I think you did an amazing job handling the people I sent your way.

Or better yet, join our Critique Group and share all of your gleaned wisdom! Now that I'm all jazzed up from PaizoCon, I'll be doing some serious updating for the Critique Group in preparation for September's Open Call

That would probably be helpful for a lotta folks. Open Calls are like the Superstar contest - if you come up with an idea and people don't like it, well that's life, but you NEVER want to go down on a technicality!
Aside from meeting various good folks at PaizoCon, including a lot of those whom I've talked with on-line, yet never in person before, I've a few addition "best thing" moments to add.
Best Spur of the Moment Expedition: Heading to a Sushi place with folks from Open Design, patrons and talent, for dinner. Not only was it good company and good food, but even the drive there and back was hilarious, too. I finally got to meet Wolfgang, face to face, but I got to imbue some of the best Teriyaki Chicken I've ever had.
Best Paizo Employee-ran Game: I really can't choose, since Unspeakable Future and Into the Scarlet Monastery were both awesome and I had a blast. But, as a sub-category, Unspeakable Future had some damn fine and fresh brownies, which I wish I would have scarfed down more of. Both games were Pathfinder Final, but with tweaks and I enjoyed them both. Not only am I a post-apocalyptic genre junky, but I'm also a lapsed WoW player, so both games touched on something for me, too. Both DMs were a blast, too, which made things even more awesome.
Best Signature Moment: I got to add Sue Cook's signature to my copy of Ptolus, which is something I've been meaning to do since I pre-ordered the epic tome, and that was quite cool. Not only did she sign it, but I got the signature at the end of her seminar on self-editing. I also got SKR's signature added to it, which started my "collect the players" signature quest. Seriously, what made this the best moment was the sheer volume of people checking to make sure I knew to go get it, telling me that she was cool with me getting it, and then making sure I got it. *grins* Obviously, thanks to some late developed neurosis about getting a signature from a nice lady, getting her signature got made into something bigger than it was, but it's all good. It's not like a lot of this folks don't know me, I've chit-chat back and forth with them for years, but I suddenly got nervous about it. *shrugs*
Best Seminar: For me, all the seminars were cool, but the self-editing one with Sue Cook was the best, since I started doing some editing work for Rite Publishing and I try and prune my prose, as needed. Excellent seminar, very informative, and it was nice to share with others, too. Picked up a couple extra tricks from the audience, too, for editing work.
Also, as an added piece of Con advise: if your look has changed and you're gonna update a picture that people know you from...do it sooner than two or three days before the Con, as people react to it better. *grins* I felt like I was ambushing some folk, because they'd always say, "You're hair is longer than the picture." *laughs*
The post-banquet game of Werewolf with Lou Agresta, Tim, Matt, Ellen, Liz, Cosmo "Mr. Pokerface", Brandon "the Candyman", Scott "the Pissboy", Josh "the Assistant Pissboy", and all the others. My god, that was a hoot and a holler!
Ha! That game was so fun! If I'm ever the werewolf in another game that you're in, I'm eating you first. ;D

Oh, and about that... Lilith—I hope I didn't disrupt your game, but I just had to find out who this person who was tweeting @PAIZOCON every few minutes was, and she'd just tweeted that she'd sat down at your table...
There are too many things that were great. Meeting everyone that you read so much about and then sitting next to them (Jason Nelson) and not even knowing that it was them until your game is all over. Such a blond moment. Loved every minute of the interactive. It was the best. Glad to prove to the hubby (Dreamweaver) that I can tell stories just as good, if not better than he can. (Boosting Champion) Having Wes try to pull you over to another faction with his good looks and charm alone. ;) The great food, the great games, Watching everyone get killed over and over again in Yetisburg. I could gab on and on but can't wait for next year and all the great things we will get to do then!

Of course, hands down, some of the best parts were finally getting to meet so many of you that I've seen around the boards. Lilith, Yoda, and everyone else (sorry if I forget usernames, I'm slowly starting to associate the faces from the con with the avatars here, ll). And Lilith, awesome cookies! Even better than I thought they'd be. The sugar cookies were especially delicious.
I was pondering about a cos-play of Nethys (though I've never really done cos-play before) but realized that I knew no one to make an awesome costume and it would also probably cost a fortune.
Maybe next year.
I hear Cosplay and my ears perk up from across the internet.
If you dress up next year. I'll dress up with you. I'm trying to decide which Iconic.

I was in full "fight or flight" mode from being around so many strangers when you first approached so my brain kinda froze. After you walked away, something stuck and I realized you had on an official "I am Paizo" shirt. Much of my weekend was spent trying to remember all the names of the Paizo staff and what they do. It didn't click that it was you until after I got home on Sunday evening. And my brain kinda went "HOLY CRAP! VIC WERTZ HUNTED MY SCREEN NAME DOWN!" It was all kinds of awesome.
That's what we get for just copying your name, Eric. In all fairness, Mona should legally change the spelling of his name to better suit our answers, don't you think?

I am so happy we spelled it right! Our table had no idea what to put for the true name of the Whispering Tyrant, so our designated answer-writer put "Eric Mona" down. Luckily I had just come from several panels that he was on and he had been wearing his name tag. I suggested switching the "C" to a "K" just as they picked up our answer sheet. It's a good thing I did too, since everyone else is getting mocked for misspelling it.

If I'd have ran into your before that, I'd have dragged you a long, as it wasn't exactly exclusive...just attached to patrons seeing the blurb in either LJ or twitter and then saying, "I wanna go."
Heck, we even snagged an extra person on the way, too.

I can sympathize there, as I'm a bit of an agoraphobe, at least with non-gamer groups. It's odd, throw me into a group of unfamiliar folk and most people start to assume I'm with security due to all the wall leaning and arm-folding, not to mention the stares. But, make the group of unknowns gamers and my normal gregarious and blathering-idiot panache comes right out into the open.
I don't know if I wanna blame the Marines or when I worked as a bouncer, but I really don't like unknown groups much. *chuckles*
