I know I am a little early for this BUT... since my wife and I are expecting our firt child in early May 2010 I was just wondering if there have been any date set for PaizoCon 2010 yet? Maybe before early May perhaps? Just a thought...

I certainly do not speak for Paizo, but I beleive Lisa said in another thread that it is almost certainly going to be in June.

Paizo is delivering messages by carrier-ducks now? Hunh. I never knew you had anyone capable of casting animal messenger on staff before. Is it that new guy from Prague? ;-D

Sounds good, maybe it is some monster delivery duck.

Would that mean ... today (as in Friday)???

Yes. Sometime around 7pm-ish Pacific time. Maybe earlier.

That's so late! Some of us live in the lands of the East you know. How can we be first in line if your ducks are so tardy?

Oh, that's going to be late... like 3am here :)

Yeah, but what do we have to do tomorrow morning that's gonna make us go to bed before then?

Regardless of when the announcement goes up, it'll be late for someone somewhere.

Oh, and I am glad that you all finally got your ducks in a row! ~grins and runs~

Well said.

Now that it's announced ...

Before anyone freaks out, yes PaizoCon is on Father's Day. We had a terrible choice to make: the weekend we wanted (11-13) was booked. If we moved it one week up (4-6) most everyone who is in school would still be in school and we'd lose people that way. If we moved it out two weeks (25-27) we'd be scheduling against Origins, a show I attend to run Pathfinder Society and one that several PaizoCon folks also attended. We didn't want to move it to another month, since we'd taken so much time and effort last year to talk about how it was always going to be a June con...

So we had to go with 18-20 and that, unfortunately, falls on Father's Day (says the guy who is a father and will spend the week before and the ten days after Father's Day traveling and working).

So does that mean in 2011 you'll be trying to get it back to the week the 11th falls on, I kinda like the idea that PaizoCon falls on my birthday usually, and you know this whole world was built around making me happy right? :)

Yes. We're trying to stay two weeks ahead of Origins and yet out of most district's school years. If we completely sell out for PaizoCon 2010 in, say, December of this year, then it's likely we'll need to seek a new venue for 2011 as well. But we'll see.

You hear that b~~%~es, all I'm sayin is the better be a ton of Birthday Cake up in here when I come rollin' out (Ice cream cake or Cheesecake are preferred none of that cheap frosting crap, if you're going frosting it'd better be fondant or buttercream)

"Ohhhh, I've got your cake right here."

Best wishes for the main PaizoCon event of 2010 over there in the US.

Hmm. That's not fondant or buttercream on it though, is it?

For some reason I don't think my wife will be up to letting me go for a few days right after a month of having our first new baby. Well, I guess it is time to start planning stuff for PaizoCon 2011 then.
