I'll be straining from the weight of the August shipment.

Then I'll sit down at work and between calls work on gettting the arcane legionary and spellstalker fully Pathfinder compatible.

First: Get it signed at Gencon

Second: Laugh at the designers who have to sit in a stall for an entire weekend while I game.

Third: Freak out because I play a PRPG game 2 hours after that without knowing all of the new rules

Fourth: Class and race combos. Convert my three organized play characters over before my game.

(RPG Superstar 2011 Top 32)

Read, read, convert characters, read more, all the while making noises of glee :)

Solnes and I will strip naked, smear our bodies with orange marmalade and run about our neighborhood yelling as loud as we can "The Pathfinders are coming! The Pathfinders are coming!". After that I will get tasered by the police.

I'm going to check out the Cleric, than spells, than sift through feats, than start reading from the beginning. I'm still pretty skeptical. In a healthy sense.

We got a futon in the living room, so come on up! I may need to get Solnes drunk to get her to do it front of other people but what the heck, I can charge admission. ;)

Is Solnes getting her own copy of the PF RPG or are you two going to fight it out to see who gets to read it first? ~quickly places bets on Solnes~

With the new Pathfinder RPG in hand, I will finally have enough courage to ask out that girl at work that I have a crush on! I will stroll up to her, show her the book, and say, "Wanna come over tonight and do some role-playing?"

WOOT!!! Threadjacking FTW!!!

The first thing I'll do is stand on it, so that I can finally reach the cookies. Next, I'll cover it in crumbs. I'm not sure which is more delicious.

Just kidding, guys.

Read like I've never read before to master the book. Thus shall I prepare for next summer and Games Camp, wherein the youngsters will learn the glory of Pathfinder. I plan to GM.

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Companion Subscriber)

Well I will hope I can find enough change in the couch to buy one. Then rife through the car for shipping fees. After that I will hope I manage to read all of it before my wife gives birth to the twins. After that I'll probably have to stick it on a shelf for a year or two cause my hands will be full.

Cheliax (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

First I'm going to do my damnedest to get everyone at the Paizo booth to sign one copy. Then I'm planning on walking around the rest of Gen Con's dealer room for as long as I can before the weight of the non-signed book forces me to sit down and read it.

25 days, 9 hours, 57 minutes... but who's counting?

When you get your copy of the Pathfinder RPG, what's the first thing you're going to do? Crack it open to a particular section? Go page by page ooohhhing and aaaahhhhhing the artwork? Or start a list of every typo you find? For me, I'm flipping over to my favorite class: the wizard.

I am going to open it respectfully and neatly using the standard method for opening a new book that will be frequently used. Once the spine has relaxed and the pages are gently flexed, I will turn to the beginning and read it straight through, cover to cover, in one sitting. I will grumble at anyone who attempts to interrupt for any reason but to bring me coffee or food.

I am going to convert my Tunnels and Trolls characters for my FidoNET pbem game, and update my ASCII character sheet to reflect the changes.

Does anyone have a PDF viewer for the TRS-DOS?

I will pick up my deadtree copy from my FLGS. I will then convert my pbp character to the new rules (if the GM allows) and then I will attempt to learn the system for my own face to face campaign here at home.

Hah! I don't know what makes me feel older... That I understand all of what you said or that I remember I have a 1e character generator and ASCII character sheet printer on a TSR-DOS floppy that is probably still somewhere in the back of my computer junk closet near my 9-pin dot matrix printer.

(Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

After acquiring my copies of the book and hugging it and squeezing it and petting it I will begin a rigorous training regime with Eastern mistics (though I'm pretty sure they're just asian hippies high on pot or shrooms but who knows) and then will begin my campaign of terror against all who oppose freedome and right. With one book acting as my shield against the armor piercing rounds of my enemies and the other as a weapon I'll become judge, jury and executioner bringing a whole knew level or nerd rage to the phrase "throw the book at them".

At least until saturdays where I'll game like mad.

First, I will peruse the Cleric class followed swiftly by the feat section and spells. Then I will revise my Beta-PF 7th level Cleric for our Shackled City campaign! Next will be reading through the whole book from beginning to end.

joela wrote:

I will be off to buy a black marker to start to work on making it balanced for non-melee classes, likely trying to return some old spells and remove some silly rules changes. Then in a month or so getting together with the group as we discuss what we will be using and whether it's it enough to justify them buying copies....right now, so far it aint looking as promising as it did before they decided to prodce 3.5 improved melee edition and not improve 3.5 for all classes.

Andoran (Paizo Superscriber, Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber)

Classes...Races...Feats...Skills...Combat -- in that order.

Qadira (Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber)

I'm gonna be at GenCon... I'll be making a quick stride to the Paizo booth for my copy of the PFRPG.

Maybe some autographs, if the folks at the booth are not too swamped (sh'yeah, right).

Then... lots of reading and planning for any necessary changes to my current Pathfinder campaign.

1. Flip through and look at all the art.
2. Look at the table of contents, then the index.
3. Flip around looking for messageboard influence, smile and think, "Oh yeah, that was so and so's idea."

555-1212 - That's directory assistance isn't it?

Yep, I was actually thinking of dialling in to see if it was for real and checked to see what range of the 555 numbers were actually assigned for fiction. Good Wikipedia article on the 555 numbers.

Thanks for the nostalgia :)

Well, I will treat it better than I did my 4e core books.

The 4e players Guide is called Heathansson.
The 4e DMs Guide is called CourtFool.
The 4e Monster Manual is called Kobold Cleaver.

I really need to come up with a name I like for the PF RPG, since I do like the PF RPG.

Any suggestions?

~GRINS~ J/K on the naming of the 4e books.

Heck..

This thread has got book lovemaking, kick boxing boobie posts, "I'm going to make or convert characters" posts. Posts describing broken backs, broken wallets, and stolen hearts. Posts suggesting it can be used to steal baked goods.

What can I say that hasn't been said already?

Spoiler:
I'm gonna throw it at the Taliban! If it doesn't kill 'em, it'll convert them to our corrupt western ways!

The shareef dont like it
Rockin the casbah
Rock the casbah
The shareef dont like it
Rockin the casbah
Rock the casbah

He thinks its not kosher!
Fundamentally he cant take it!
You know he really hates it!

Ahem..

Probably read it, and tell my players to start converting their characters from Beta. That was the agreement at the start of the campaign.

Spoiler:
I won't use it as leverage to save the flumph, unless Daigle and those mooks agree to roll the nilbog into the deal.

Give my husband a kiss and whisper in his ear - "Honey, you're in charge of the baby. There's food in the fridge. See you tomorrow."

Then I will rebuild my Pathfinder Society barbarian/bard, sighing in ecstasy over being able to rage and inspire courage more than 1/day at first level.

After that I'll follow the whims of the moment, savoring the crisp feel of the pages as I devour the scrumptious contents. :)

Lift with your legs. That's what I'm going to do*. I may have to give the mailman a bigger tip this holiday season. :)

I will probably check out the spells first (while sipping some Pinot Grigio). I am of the opinion that while fighters (and melee) needed a bump, full casters needed knocking down a bit, too. If the book doesn't go with Pinot Grigio, I'll try Pinot Noir, then a Manhattan, then a beer of some sort. I'll go all the way down to diet A&W.
