Thanks again carborundum. Now that I have had a good read through the original C1 module and your little (32 page) tie/conversion I can honestly say it is great stuff.
I've not had a good look yet so I don't know how good/useful it is but still...
TONY.
Unfortunately it was converted into some other gaming system of which I am unaware. I don't think it's very compatible with D&D. But thanks for the post!

Should be lots of fun (says evil DM)
Tony.
I was happy to pass it on, though all credit goes to Luke from the first page of this thread!
Nice, and thanks! I was contemplating using a modified map of Palenque as a base-level Urol map to hand out... perhaps I can modify the locales to match up with it. A little bit of tinkering in Photoshop went quite a ways. : )
Okay, sorry to be a pain but I too got directed here for conversion notes for C1. Could you pretty please send me the conversion notes :)

Had blast running the conversion over our last two sessions. The PCs bargained with the Ogre Mage Xipe, sating him with tribute and allowing four of his lizardmen to accompany them to ensure they didn't "steal" any of the items within the ruins that "belonged" to him. Needless to say, all four lizards were fried by the first trap.
From there, it just became a trap-laden war of attrition, with the party slowly wasting away from the various diseases and poisons. It was a bit silly that the two rogues in group didn't even bother to search for traps once during their stay, and the group as a whole paid dearly for it.
I expected the vampire to be a near TPK, but the party ripped him to shreds before he regained strength.
They managed to survive intact, but they looked pretty silly meeting up with Lavinia and the Jade Ravens sans clothing (after a few prolonged baths in a certain room of brackish water).
A note to lazy DMs (like myself) who plan on running this: Be prepared with a suitable god to reference for the Nereid encounter. I was caught off-guard when the party asked who her father was. Xerbo makes a good choice in Greyhawk, since the Azure District of Sasserine features a temple dedicated to he and his wife.
My gang are just about to clear up the Bullywug's and raise Lavinia from the dead.... a tragic player error detailed elsewhere on the messageboards!
Your conversion of C1 would be a fantastic addition to the epic journey of the Sea Wyvern.

Thanks to Carborundum for continuing to spread that conversion. It's very cool to see folks' descriptions of how it played out for them. I had both the sea charts and the conversion posted for awhile on my site, but I got concerned when Paizo lost the rights to old Dungeon material and took it down. I'm not sure where the fair use rights to that stuff is held anymore and I didn't want to tick off anyone at my favorite gaming site.
Anyway, if anyone is still looking for the conversion they can email me and I will be glad to send it along. lpotter5@tampabay.rr.com

I really hate that they have this "Archive" section on the STAP fora. Of course I was, as other here are/have been looking for some interesting C1 conversion notes.
Carborundum, or anyone else that has these notes, please email them to hiredsword at gmail.com
hopefully my guys won't get to Tamoachan before I can get a look at this info.
If I use it, all or in part, I will be back with an AAR to relay how things went.

Thanks to Carborundum to start me off I've just got another five locations to finish and I've updated the whole thing. I can email it across as is if you want, a second pair of eyes to edit glaring errors would be nice. I haven't scanned the maps though cos I have the original copy. I've waited 30 years to run this!

AAR ? Really now ... reminds me of a certain "grand strategy" game forum ...

dunno about that. Too many military/former military folks in my group, though, if that helps any.

I love the idea that Tamoachan is still being run and people are still getting to experience its dark halls. I've never run it but would love to, let us know how it fits will you?

Huzzah.

It is an excellent adventure and updating it isn't a huge problem. I've ran a Runequest version and it went down very well. It really is full of flavor.
Hope its not too late to join the party. Would it be possible to get a copy of the conversion notes? muds_up(at)hotmail(dot)com.
Thanks in advance.....
I guess it's never too late to start STAP, so... please make some old-school pulp hungry players happy and send the conversions to graebsch at gmx dot de.
