~grins~ Fakey! I do agree that having an education helps out a lot, it is just that people can make it even without an education. ~sighs~ Unfortunalty, the odds against you increase if you do not have an education.

BTW, Fake Healer and Lilith, how are you enjoying the copies that I sent you?

'Tis very cool. Plotting and planning dinner as we...type?

~grins~ Good going, Lilith! Is there anything else that you want me to copy from the book? ~grins sickly as I imagine the tortures that the Great Demon Queen of Vituals and Brain Devouring looks upon me~ Your humble servant is more than willing to copy ***ANYTHING*** you want me to!!!

I think I'm gonna try out the Gully Dwarf Stew and sub the lizard meat with Alligator meat (prepped in a crock-pot, otherwise it's too tough). I don't think I need anything else copied. I haven't forgotten to send you my thanks, I just got roped into DMing for a few weeks while my DM is in Isreal visiting family and haven't had time to think. I will be sending something in a couple weeks.

Do you use minis in your games, Sharoth?

FH

Fakey,

No thanks were needed. I am just glad that you like what I sent. I was also checking up to see if it was what you wanted. As for minatures... Yes, we use them. If you had said brains, I would have said "No!", since Lilith the Lilithid has drained them all away! Also, tell me how it works with the gator meat. One of my friends brought some to Guys night and he fried it! All I can say is "YUMMMMMMMYYYYY!!!!!"

B.A. Music Education

B.A. in public relations last year from Arizona State University. I graduated with honors and earned a spot on the National Dean's List for 2005. I had some excellent job offers from both local and national companies, but instead, I joined the Army. Now I'm a paralegal specialist for the Army's JAG Corp. And please don't ask me why, because I'm still trying to figure that one out myself. Seriously though, it's a rewarding job and I'm happy to serve.

B.S. in Evolutionary Anthropology and some credits toward an advanced degree in Physical (Biological) Anthropology.

MS Biology (cell/molec)

I really should go back and get the PhD, but I've gotten to like no longer being a starving grad student here in the real world.

Associate Degree in Cryptozoology and Lawn Mower Repair

Just kidding!

BA Secondary Education (History)
MA Management

Lawn Mower Repair would have been way more practical....

BA (Hons) English Medieval Studies (3 years)

MFA Staging Shakespeare (1 year - a year I want back to do over)

British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat - rapier and dagger, unarmed (lapsed)

St John Ambulance First Aid at Work certificate :D

Bachelor's degree.

However I wouldn't say that education level is a meaningful predictor of intelligence. I do a lot of hiring in the tech industry and I tend to hire people with a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience over a master's degree. I think the technical fields tend to be this way.

BA Cultural Studies

MA Applied Linguistics
PhD (in progress) Education

I teach a lot of people from all walks of life. Many of my favourite students are high school drop outs. They usually bring a great deal of enthusiasm to the class as well as a curiousity fueled by life experience.

Bachelor of Arts - Political Science
Juris Doctor

Will be taking up the Culinary Arts soon.

Let's see....

Bachelor of Arts - History (Medieval European)
Dual Minors - Studio Arts & Conceptual Physical Sciences

When plans to go to school in Europe for an advanced degree were put on hold, I got sucked into the I.T. field and became an MCP. Now I'm learning all kinds of neat things about the library supply business. Interesting times... ;P

B.A. English & American Literature; w/ Minor in Medieval Studies

Currently work as a federal court employee. So, no obvious connection to my education. But no regrets!

BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.

Rather than going back for a Masters (which would be useless to me right now and likely a waste of money) I'm trying to find my legs in this "real world" everyone was talking about and fill in some of the gaps in my education on my own.

Master in Finance

B.A. - English & American Literature (with Creative Writing Specialization) and Politics - New York University
J.D. - Harvard University

I'd like to go back and get some more degrees, but at least for now I have to work on the pile of student loans I built up accumulating the ones I've got!

You don't need a piece of paper to be an educated individual.

At least that's my line and I intend to stick with it.

I finished compulsory education with good grades and I've always wanted to go to university but somehow life has always managed to get in the way of my formal education.

Since BV210 seems to have missed your question, Ed, I'll answer for him. Yep, the very one. I did my freshman year there myself in biology before moving on to the University of Oklahoma for archaeology. Were you perchance a Bison, as well?

Greg A. Vaughan wrote:

I wouldn't say I was a Bison, but I did attend Harding for a short time. I'd laugh my "you know what" off if we met each other back then... Ha!

B.A. - English (Grinnell College) mostly British poetry

I then applied to the University of iowa in math, and they put me into the PhD program, which turned out to be ... really hard! I turtled-up and passed my Comps in Algebra, Topology, and Logic/Foundations (notice the absense of Analysis there? I hate Analysis.) When my thesis advisor retired the next year, I switched degree programs, took another year of (suddenly very easy!) courses, and another set of Comps.

M.S. - Mathematics (University of Iowa)

After a couple of years as a freelance technical writer and, well, magician for private parties, I went back to school to become a teacher.

M.A. - Education (University of Iowa)

Basically, I spent 17 years studying to be a DM.

Being a DM is good training for teachers. Good teachers and good DMs are able to make things entertaining, clear, organized, without forcing people to see and do things your way.

Master in Graphic Design.

B.S., Mass Communication with a minor in History
University of Utah
- Student Senate

Mathematical finance is using mathematics to price financial contracts (like stock options, commodity futures and other financial derivatives [link]).

That might be what Mormegil's degree is in, but "finance" is a pretty broad category.
