Dwar Darkstone a dwarf sorcerer/rogue in our AOW campaign took over the house after the party moved on to Greyhawk. Dwar lost a leg to the owlbear at the Land farm, next to the fireplace is the stuffed owlbear cub, it's mothers head is over the fireplace. The player of Dwar turned the place into a inn knowns as "The Owlbear".

What ever became of the Ruined Mine Office in your campaign...

The characters in my campaign had no interest in restoring the main structure. They hired some laborers to tear the building down to the foundation. They then established a very simple living quarters in the basement.

The character who had inherited the property initially was killed by the Wind Warriors in the Whispering Cairn. The two surviving characters from the original group are still carrying the deed around with them, but they haven't been back there in months. (They are currently trying to escape from the wight-infested Free City - as they failed to stop the ritual - D'oh! )

(Pathfinder Adventure Path, Companion Subscriber)

My crew burned some gold on hiring laborers to rebuild the place, they barely used it though. They usually wind up crashing at an Inn in Diamond Lake.

My party decided to stash all their loot there for when they went to the free city, putting up an illusionary wall to hide it all.

My players also didn't seem interested in the mine office. They briefly considered taking over the observatory, but it was pointed out to them that it is technically owned by the town and currently being rented by Smenk.

One of the PCs started as a bar wench in a local tavern/inn (we made one up for the game called The Pointed Rabbit because the player didn't like the sound of the other pre-existing bars/inns). After their return from the Whispering Cairn, they found out that the woman who owned the Pointed Rabbit died of an apparent heart attack, and left the place to the PC (a rouge) in her will.

Now the PCs have a place to call their own, and with the history they've created with it, it will be that much more interesting later in the campaign. ;-)

My group totally ignored the old mine office.

I did however have Smeck work a deal with my PCs. They help him with his problem with the Triad, cover his tracks in the temple area, and he signs over the deed to the old observatory and he forget they killed his friend Filge.

They dropped a lot of coin fixing it up and making it livable. Hired a butler and a couple guards.

Its going to be a shame when they get back from the Free City and find Illthane has destroyed it and killed their hirelings.
