Please let it be sandbox. All the greatest NG products are sandbox, and that's rare enough to find.

Yes, it is sandbox. I was just talking about our discussions about possible ways to break up the sandbox to make it printable in a serial monthly format (basically expanding it into more than 3 adventures of shorter lengths) not changing the content in any meaningful way. I'm talking about the packaging, nothing else. Anyway, nothing was decided, so it's all academic at this point.

New info from PaizoCon to drive you crazy:
from RPGAggression - "Now its 7:30am, and I'm off to Greg Vaughan's Slumbering Tsar preview. More soon!"
from Twitter - "monkeyking Playing Slumbering Tsar with Greg Vaughan at #paizocon , using the Pathfinder iconics. Great game, great DM, fun table."

Wow... just when I thought not being able to go to Paizocon couldn't get any worse. Way to twist the knife, Wolfgang ;-)

Nothing new since PaizoCon. I'm sure I might just happen to mention it again at Gen Con. ;-)

So, there was a preview at PaizoCon...but no hints, announcements?

I think he just ran a game or two using his draft. Least thats what I heard and was my impression but what others said about it.

Thanks, DM. Yep, I ran three games from an excerpt of the first adventure at Paizocon (killed a lot of PCs, too). What I was actually referring to, though, was that I had the chance to sit down with some of the Paizo guys and talk about it, mainly to keep it fresh on their minds. I think the success of the PF RPG book will be very telling in regards to Paizo releasing these adventures. So buy lots of copies of the PF RPG. ;-)

Soooo,
with GenCon over and the PFRPG available, when will we get the good news that Slumbering Tsar is being updated and finally published?

Well with it selling out I think the last part came out as good as it could have.

I think the success of the PF RPG first printing selling out (let's go second print-run!) is going to shift the publishing paradigm of Paizo over the next six months to a year. Hopefully ST will be a part of that shift. It's probably still too early to tell, but it was brought up again and still received in an extremely positive light by the Paizonians. So hopefully we'll see some progress on this. I'll keep querying (without trying to become too obnoxious) and hopefully possibilities that didn't exist before will be opening up. I think ultimately this will come down to a sit-down between Erik and Clark on the logistics of the thing. (fingers crossed)

Hi Greg,
good to hear that things are looking good. Be assured that we will not let this thread die!
Maybe we should start to pester Clark on the Necro Boards about this too. Or is there a similiar thread?
Anyway, I will wait and hope for TS (same as I wait and hope for Razor Coast).

Ok,
we have:
1) Razor Coast will be published before Slumbering Tsar
2) Slumbering Tsar will be published before Razor Coast
3) The Apocalypse comes before either Razor Coast or Slumbering Tar will be published.

Greg,
I know we talked about it quite a bit at GenCon, and I am hopeful that with the current success of PF RPG, ST will grow in interest.
Keep us posted!
Cheers!

Some of us Necro-boarders are now exploring other options to draw the demon lord's favor. We were considering a virgin sacrifice but have had a great deal of difficulty acquiring a suitable virgin... and despite the good intentions behind my suggestion, I have been informed that a "new-in-box" inflatable love doll is NOT an acceptable substitute.

I don't think it would hurt to keep it on his front burner, though. The last time I discussed it with Clark, he was very enthusiastic about it. So, while I wouldn't recommend pestering the Demon Prince of Undead, perhaps reminding him of the fans' enthusiasm from time to time could be a positive thing. If he and Erik ever get synced up on this, watch out!

Maybe.
But frankly, I feel like I (and others) have been asking and asking for it (and other things) for over two years now.
While I would really love to see this adventure, I need to see *some* movement by Necromancer to know that they are even remotely interested.
I'm going from *really, really* wanting Necromancer to do something to..."whatever."
If they start doing things for Pathfinder, I'll jump back on the train immediately. But I'm tired of asking.

Glad to see that Bill Webb actually put that post up. It's a little bit of light under the shroud that Slumbering Tsar seems to have been in for so long now.
That being said, in whichever form Slumbering Tsar is released in, I'll be sad not to see it in a box set form like RARe, WOHF or COB. Those box sets were litterally, some of the best adventure material ever to be produced for this hobby we so love. And then, even though I'm in love with ST and haven't even read it yet, a little part of me worries what it will look like when transplanted to Pathfinder or the Golarian setting (which is an assumption that is probable I think).
But, any news is good news... right?

Certainly more action here than on the Necro boards where I normally hang out. My first post on the Paizo boards is a shout out for TS. Either 3.5 or Pathfinder floats my boat. Print, PDF, box set, AP, whatever... gimme! The TS cover has been in my dark dreams for far too long.

Um, does this mean there is no print version available? B/c I'm not sure I'd get this if it was pdf only (sorry Greg!).

Can anyone tell me what the maps are like? (In this as well as Eamonvale.)

I hope not...how else will we see the whole saga? Plus, as is the campaign is for levels 7-17 and Greg was hinting that a Pathfinder version might be more like 1-20.

I'm excited that this is now available. But I would definitely like to know if a PRPG version is planned. If a PRPG version is done, could those of us that purchased the 3.5 ver. get it for free or at a discount perhaps?
Thanks.
