New product idea - Full Attack Dice?

Hi Guys,

What about a set of four d20s, each that takes into account the -5 penalty for iterative attacks? i.e.

Die #1 (Red): Normal d20
Die #2 (Orange): d20 with numbers between "-4" and "15"
Die #3 (Yellow): d20 with numbers between "-9" and "10"
Die #4 (Green): d20 with numbers between "-14" and "5"

To roll a full attack with four attacks, just pick up the four dice and roll, adding your highest BAB to each roll. Simple.

The only complexity I can see would be determining critical threats (perhaps a circle or triangle around the highest and lowest numbers on the dice).

What do you think?

We don't make dice, but I could see a die maker trying that out...

You'd need to remember when a 15 (say) is an automatic hit.

Also, it would make crit ranges a nightmare.

Still, it might be worth giving a try.

Wallis,

I do believe that a couple of Dice makers produce blank dice - what about getting those and adding your own numbers?

Yep, that's probably what I'll do.

...I thought it sounded like a pretty cool idea - I love nonstandard dice!

Does have a nice intrigue about it. Q-workshop might be able to help. Though I think the highest number should be 20.

I think if something like this were made they would want to make each die a different color. That way you can roll all of your hits and damage together by using an appropriately colored damage die.

Crits shouldn't be a big deal at all. If you crit on 18-20, you would crit on a 13-15, or 8-10, etc.

Though I do think there would be a relatively small market, the folks who like novelty dice. The reason being, the player still has to add all of his other modifiers together and add them to the die roll.

When I play I just write down my four total modifiers and roll my four attacks and matching damage dice and just crank out the results real quick. Unless you are getting a few dozen buffs every round, players should be able to crank out their four hits in just seconds.

All in all I think it an interesting and cool idea.
