Did we ever hear word on whether the names of the 10 finalists will be posted?
They said they would announce the top ten either today or tomorrow, but I don't know if they're actually going to post the names or just e-mail people.

I hope that they send emails to everyone, yea or nay, at the same time...because it would be tense for nine people to post "I GOT MINE!" and the one non-paizo poster doesn't (Ryan "RangerWickett" Nock, anyone?) while the rest of us wonder.

Though Tuesday or Wednesday was mentioned I am expecting it will be the 15th per the original announcement (this way I can be pleasantly surprised :) Paizo has been pretty good in the past to say we have made it 'X' far and the 'N' people have been notified--even if they do not tell us who the winners are.
While those 10 are phase two I am curious about phase 1.5, that is, those 30 that were brought to the final meeting to decide the 10. I like my chances better being 10 in forty than 10 in 150. ;)
As of this moment, we have sent out 0 emails concerning the open call. We were going to have our meeting about it today, but one of our number is out sick so it will have to wait until tomorrow. Expect emails later this week.

Are you trying to suck up to Jason with your avatar, Talion?
Nope, this was my original avatar when I started posting here, way before the Open Call.
In the spring I switched it to the Valeros avatar (taken from the picture in D0 where he is grappling with the tatzlwyrm) because I thought the art was really cool.
But I was going to use that avatar pic for a PbP game, so I decided to go back and to Belkar.
Besides, if I was going to try and suck up, I'd have picked a gnome ninja avatar ;-)

So, knowing that the blog hasn't been updated and emails haven't gone out (to me at least), it can only be assumed that a decision is not fast in coming. And I realize that the 15th was the set date for answers.
Mike/James/Eric/Jason/Anyone else who might have this information, how's the progress on the open call?

I'm just assuming that all the entries are so incredible the panel is having to consult an elder brain in an attempt to illuminate the minutia that separates the pack...

But remember the elder brains answer to the Horrors from Beyond Time and Space as described in the Necronomicon, so I can only assume they have to consult Them as well...

That only bodes well for my query! <insert insane laughter here>
*I drew pretty heavily on Lovecraft for inspiration, after Eric Mona mentioned in a post that Golarion's aboleths are indeed an elder race from another planet. And if you have one Elder Race.... ;-)
Jeremy is feeling better today and has returned to us! Yay!
We have put our thirty blindly selected choices in a pile (that means each one has a number assigned to it, and we can't see who wrote it).
Later today, in theory, we shall narrow down that list of 30 to a list of 10.
It's coming!

Fantastic! Best of luck to all! Whatever happens, this has been fun!
So this is kind of a silly question but, if the winner of this contest is already a GameMastery subscriber, will they be given two copies of their own adventure and get charged for one of them or will the copy that comes with their subscription just be given gratis and they'll only receive the one copy?

I'm pretty sure that it's already been defined previously that writers get a free copy of whatever they wrote and that's pretty much it. Of course, with a 22,000 word submission paying 5 cents per word, you're looking at an $1100 paycheck (minus taxes) which will certainly get you a subscription for quite awhile. :)

*32000 words, so $1600
Edit: Nevemind, it is 22000 words.
Huh. I had 32 000 in mind when I was trying to figure out how many encounters, etc.
Looks like I've got a lot more cutting to do if I make it to the outline stage, lol
Dear PostMonster General, All-Seeing Eye, His Ocular Omniscence,
We know you just made all the servers happy after their crashes last night. Please be aware you will have at least 150 people frequently hitting the refresh buttons on their browsers as they eagerly await word from on high.
Sorry if we make the servers crash, please accept this offering of Visine. It gets the red out. :D

Those are the standard rates?
Yup. They sure are:

Generally five cents per word... which, in this industry, is pretty darn good.
