Just out of curiousity how long does it take to process an order and ship out a product?
That's a question that needs to go directly to Paizo or IPR (depending on where you order it from). Once our books go to the Paizo or IPR warehouse, it's out of our hands. :)

Speaking for Paizo, PDFs will become available immediately. For the print editions of Robert's books, assuming the product isn't listed as "preorder" or "backorder," we'll usually ship within a couple of business days. (You'll be given a more specific estimate during checkout.)

Its definitely my favorite new buy in the last few months.

OK, I bought this and have spot read through the PDF. I am glad I ordered! All the elements that make me still love Aurora's is in this book, so a fine buy, IMO!
Glad my record of not misleading you is still intact. :D

That she did. I picked up this and the other print / PDF items that you all had on sale.
First let me say it's a worthy heir to Aurora's and will definately see use at my table. The two locations in the back are nice, and I enjoy their 'plunkability' (plunkability = the ability to be plunked down into any game world with little or no modification.)
That said I've some questions and comments.
Weapons
Barbed Arrows: I like the mechanics, though I think they’re more a ‘bad guy’ weapon as the monsters rarely have to worry about removing them/being fatigued as death removed the need for both conditions ;-)
Bodkin Arrows: Is the armour reduction only against armour/shield bonuses or is it also against natural armour bonuses?
Steel Arrows: I take it that it should be read that steel arrows reduce the range increment by 25 feet, mithral by 15 feet and adamantine by 40 feet, but it can be read that mithral arrows actually increase the arrow’s range by 10 feet and adamantine only reduces the range by 15 feet. Also it appears the cost for mithral and adamantine arrows are missing from the table.
Stone Arrows: As with Bodkin Arrows the affects against natural armour are unclear. It appears that a breastplate will stop them (short of a critical hit) but that ancient dragon with the +20 natural armor bonus can still be hurt with them.
Crossbow Hunting bolts: Aren’t these covered as masterwork bolts?
War Bolts: Same issue with the bodkin arrows.
Bow Lance: Did this thing really exist? (Look at some of the weird combo weapons in history, it’s a serious question) I don’t like the -1 to hit unless from X class mechanic.
Chakram: Shouldn’t it be 1d3 small 1d4 medium? I think I’d make the critical range X3, to make it worth the EWP feat.
Estoc: Again that armour mechanic. Also how does one set a sword against a charge? It’s assumed you set a spear with the butt into the ground or against a wall…
Executioners Sword: I think it would be easier to make it a martial weapon and be done with it. Also the damage progression seems to be off, going from 2d4 for small to 2d8 for medium.
Flammard: Hmm, no mention of pattern welding? I do like the fluff though.
Hooksword: I think making this a ‘monk weapon’ would have been sufficient. I don’t like ‘free TWF for monks only’ Like the barbarian only weapons, it just disagrees with me.
Hurlbat: I used to have a Hibben throwing axe, which is what this reminds me of. I like the mechanics.
Meteor Hammer: I’ll have to wait for the Pathfinder book to see how they handle the variable reach weapons. Personally I’ve no issues with this as shown here.
Sabre: I like it. Allows those Mongols to take the lance feat chain.
Spear, Barbed: “Impossible to cut” with adamantine weapons and the like? I think “Hardness 10, 10 HP” would be ‘impossible to cut’ for the normal man, but not for a high level fighter type.
Xistrera: Jai Ali in Pathfinder? Excellent!
Armour:
Jousting armor: Hmm, why exactly does this make flesh to stone or disintegrate easier to shrug off?
Leather Vest: Hmm, why wouldn’t a spell caster wear this? A possible +6 armour bonus plus armour properties after you enchant it of course? All for a 1% spell failure chance?
She Devil armour *sigh* The description aside, the +2/-2 to charisma is a mechanics nightmare. As it is metal, it can be made with mithral (goodbye spell failure chance) and give a conditional bonus to spell DCs via charisma? “Me not like scantly clad female, me shrug off disintegrate easier!”
Valkyrie armour: Well to each their own, but the sketch puts a nice bullseye on the chest.
The backroom
Idnar’s Blue Shirt: A +2 Resistance bonus to Charisma? And an untyped bonus to will saves?
Warlord’s Torc and Bracers: Again, untyped bonuses.
All in all, it's a good book for those who like to write out characters in detail. I was hoping for a great scimitar analouge, but that's my preference. Definately worth getting in PDF for review, and worth dead tree for the table, call it 4 stars.

Thanks so much! We're glad you like it, and "plunkability" is what we aim for! I've some answers for you (hopefully!).

As Luven himself says, they usually are bad guy weapons, and he is considering no longer offering them.
Matthew Morris wrote:

It is only against armor and shield bonuses, as that is what they are designed to penetrate. If we'd made it also natural armor bonus, it would apply to magical natural armor bonuses and that doesn't fit the "theme" of the arrow very well.
Matthew Morris wrote:

You did interpret the ranges correctly, but I see what you mean about how it could be misread. We did miss including the mithral and adamantine arrow costs on the table. We should have included in the description that Adamatine arrows cost an extra 60 gp/missile and that Mithral cost an extra 75 gp/missile.
Matthew Morris wrote:

On this one, we should have included that natural armor of +4 bonus or better was just as effective at stopping the stone arrows.
Matthew Morris wrote:
Crossbow Hunting bolts: Aren’t these covered as masterwork bolts?
I suppose you could look at it that way. Through our interpretation, the hunting bolt is not so much expertly crafted, but just designed differently, so one could be crafted by a less skilled bolt maker and still get the +1 bonus.
Matthew Morris wrote:

Same answer as the bodkin arrows. ;)
Matthew Morris wrote:
Bow Lance: Did this thing really exist? (Look at some of the weird combo weapons in history, it’s a serious question) I don’t like the -1 to hit unless from X class mechanic.
Yes, this really did exist. This painting done in 1843 by Karl Bodmer shows an Assiniboine warrior with a bow-lance. Note the curvature of the bow, the iron spearpoint and the long bowstring. Many Plains tribes used the bow-lance, but not very effectively. It looked better than it worked.
Matthew Morris wrote:
Chakram: Shouldn’t it be 1d3 small 1d4 medium? I think I’d make the critical range X3, to make it worth the EWP feat.
The 1d6 should be 1d4, correct. Perhaps on the critical range, but we just didn't feel it would do that much.
Matthew Morris wrote:
Estoc: Again that armour mechanic. Also how does one set a sword against a charge? It’s assumed you set a spear with the butt into the ground or against a wall…
As above, the natural armor bonus would need to be +4 or better to be considered. As for the set against charge, you would need to brace against something (a dead horse, maybe?) or drop the butt to the ground.
Matthew Morris wrote:
Executioners Sword: I think it would be easier to make it a martial weapon and be done with it. Also the damage progression seems to be off, going from 2d4 for small to 2d8 for medium.
The 2d8 should have been 2d6. Also, the weight and construction of the sword makes it very different from most other swords, hence the EWP feat requirement. If you're just lopping off heads for the king, I would say you don't need the EWP feat, but if you want to use the thing in combat, then you do.
Matthew Morris wrote:
Flammard: Hmm, no mention of pattern welding? I do like the fluff though.
It could have been added to the fluff, I suppose. :)

You're free to house-rule it, of course. :)

Indeed. The sabre has always been a favorite of mine because of what it was designed to do. Thanks!

Perhaps it was worded a bit poorly. Just hacking at it with an axe like you would a wooden hafted spear won't get it done as easily. It requires true effort, and the GM would apply the hardness and hp of iron instead of wood.
Matthew Morris wrote:
Xistrera: Jai Ali in Pathfinder? Excellent!
So the party comes upon a group of folks playing Jai Ali, who don't like their game interrupted and turn the "game" on the party!

It wouldn't, and that should have been clarified.
Matthew Morris wrote:

It was designed with spellcasters in mind, of course. I wouldn't see any but the most martial of wizards taking a +5 Leather Vest of Fortitude over other magic items, though.

To each his own, of course. Just as Luven knew that not all characters would be accepting of the armor, we knew that not all gamers would, but we chose to include it anyway.
Matthew Morris wrote:

As does the holy symbol or company insignia or family crest emblazoned on the breastplate of a any suit of full plate or half plate armor. :)

Yeah, the "resistance" was supposed to be with the Will save...

That would be an enhancement bonus, just like a +1 sword or axe.

Many, many thanks! We are glad you are pleased with it overall. As for the great scimitar, wait for the upcoming adventure from us, Albion Armitage's Astounding Arsenal...
I was my understanding with the Valkyrie plate that there's no armour there, unlike the suit with the holy symbol. Even Alias had a force screen there and Kara's invulnerable. ;-) Still it has a lower AC. I take the mithral chain shirt because I like lightly armoured fighters, so someone will use the cleavage armour.
I think I will allow the armour piecers to pierce natural armour as well though. "Thog have tough skin, thog fear nothing!" *thud* "Thog now fear bodkin arrow."

Actually you're mistaken, though given the nature of fantasy armor, that's understandable. The Bustier is meant to display - that's in the description, and it is essentially a catchall for all the pin-up type armors you see in fantasy art. Basically, we're saying, yes, you can have armor that really does look like that, but this is the stats for it...
The Valkyrie Armour is entirely different. It's designed along the line of the armor that Seelah, Iomadae, and Soul Calibur IV's Hilde wear. It is plate and covers the bust entirely. Basically, instead of the standard cuirass, it consists of an enlarged gorget that covers the neck, collarbone, upper back, upper ribs, and bosom. It overlaps the plackart, which covers the midriff, lower torso, and mid to lower back. The plackart has an attached fauld and/or culettes to cover the hips, groin, and backside. Then you have fully enclosed cuishes (thigh-pieces) and greaves. The arms are covered by pauldrons, rerebraces, coplyns, and vambraces. It's full plate armor, it's just not as rigid, giving it a slightly lower AC and slightly lower Dex Penalty.
Ah, I got hung up on this part of the description "Valkyrie armor generally does not have a solid breastplate..." and the picture. So this is almost like the Gray Maiden Armour?

It's actually more like this. And the sketch illustration in our book is supposed to have wings emblazoned on the breastplate, but it does look a little like a cut-away/peekaboo thing.

Robert
Then I'll have to retract my comment. In fantasy, boob plates I can live with, it's the "I have heavy armour, except for this huge honking hole in the middle" that bugs me.

Yeah, I didn't see what you meant at first but that does look a bit like a "keyhole" now that you mention it. It's no problem, we're here to clear things up.
And to clarify: Setting the Boar Sword and Estoc against a charge is done by bracing them in the half-sword position, with one's free hand almost halfway up the blade. This is possible because both swords are not sharp for their entire length - an estoc has a rhomboid or hexagonal cross-section, and a boar-sword is similarly bladeless for the middle third. Effectively, they are being used as a short spear.
For a 3rd consecutive time, Luven Lightfinger's Gear and Treasure Shop appears on the RPG Countdown! It fell from #4 to #6, but it's still hanging in there. Many, many thanks to everyone who helped make this happen by purchasing this book!
Yep it was well deserved, but you did set a really high bar for yourselves with future products. :)
Is that a challenge?!
Just saying with the tactics book you wrote you have your rep and 4 winds rep riding on how good it is, not to mention the lively hood of the rest of those that write for/edit/art for 4 winds... but no pressure. :)
Have you all submitted LLG&TS for ENnie consideration? I'm not sure what the rest of the competition in the relevant categories looks like, but I definitely think this is one of the best PDF/print releases I've seen this year.

Hmmm, I know we submitted Paths of Power for ENnie consideration... actually, I'm pretty sure all four of our books - which, by the way, can now also be ordered through Amazon.com, just search for "4 Winds Fantasy Gaming" - have been submitted for ENnie consideration.

I've a feeling that Ryan's S&T is going to be at least as well received as Gear & Treasure, if not better. :D

Yes we did! In fact, all four of our print books are being submitted thanks to a suggestion from our distributor, Indie Press Revolution, who encourages all of their publishers to submit their eligible products.

I bought this last year in May, D_M! I just couldn't bring myself to reading an equipment book after having some bad experiences and it lay dormant on my HD...

We have uploaded an updated PDF of this product to Paizo, and it should be available to those who have already purchased it as soon as Paizo approves the upload.
The updated (2nd Printing) file includes all new artwork for the weapons and armor and also incorporates all known errata directly into the text and tables.

I purchased LL through IPR with the PRINT+PDF, I'm curious though if somehow you can help me out with getting the PDF through Paizo. I like having all my PDF downloads in one place and the Paizo PDF Downloads section is the bees knees.
Very nice, I just looked over it. Not only do the images look better but you managed to get a lot more of them in the same space and make them look better. It is even better than before and honestly that was hard to do.
