Announced! And the first-ever Tier 12 scenario. Also the first Pathfinder Society scenario written by Paizo's own Erik Mona.

I was wondering when this'd be coming along. Erik hinted at it quite a while ago. How many adventures are planned for the Eyes of the Ten series?

Four. It resolves in #67 in December 2010--and the ending is gonna be sweeeeet.

I'm working on this over my Christmas vacation.

It is going to be awesome.

Is this the same Red Raven as the one in module W3?

It sure is. :-)

I should also point out that we're in the process of changing this price--it should be $7.99 for this scenario. Why the price increase? This is our first ever 2-round (or 10 hour) scenario, a little experiment to see if (1) a 2-round scenario will do well and (2) to see if launching the Tier 12 arcs with a 2-rounder is a good idea or not.

Well, the title certainly has me intrigued!

I'd hate to see the Red Raven go ... he seems like a top bloke!

Ooh, two-round tier-12 by Erik Mona - I think it will sell itself!

Time to level up my PFS character.

Interesting. Will this necessarily need to be run in one sitting of 8-10 hours, or could it be run on subsequent weeks with sessions of 4-5 each? I like the idea of a longer scenario, but having it be a single double-length session might make it hard to schedule for groups that meet during the week or at locations with time limits.

It's designed to be run in two 5-hour slots. There's a single chronicle sheet at the end of the second slot.

Wow.

It is super-long and packed with awesome. Or it will be by the time it comes out. At the moment it is a bit larger than a glorified outline.

Any requests?

Out of curiosity, what's the target page count?

-Skeld

Since it's a PDF, it doesn't really have one. I'm guessing it will be about twice as long as a "normal" PFS scenario, but as I'm still writing it that's guesswork at this point.

Seriously, though...if this is set in Galt (which I imagine will be the case, since it's a follow-up to an adventure set there), I'd love to see one of the guillotines. So far the two adventures set in Galt don't revolve around the Revolution (or feature it at all) and it's such a defining element of the nation, so the result is that the adventures feel too modular. If I'm going to Galt, I want to know I'm in Galt. If the adventure is actually set somewhere else, well then, don't include Galtish stuff. Also, some meaty backstory on the mysterious Red Raven would be cool too.

This thing is going to be packed with Revolutionary stuff, rest assured.

Thus far there will be no flumphs.

I'm not buying it then!

I do not think that is in the best interest of the Wiki. You will probably appreciate the Easter eggs I'm putting in this thing more than anyone.

Any Colonial Gothic inspiration will be much appreciated.

I retract my last statement.

I'm a little sad that my PFS scenarios are coming out in the months immediately preceding and following this one, though, since this scenario is sure to eclipse them both.

We'll see. Lots of cool ideas, but lots of work to do before they are all down on paper.

Still, I'm pretty excited by what's in store.

Can't wait to read your adventures!

Please, just no falchion wielding Zvarts.

LOL. No worries.

Everything is coming together swimmingly for this. I hope to run a playtest very soon.

Is it way bigger? Just wondering why it's 7.99?

Answered above - it is a double-scenario.

I'm finishing up the sequel to this scenario this week and I have to say, this is going to be a mind-blowingly awesome story arc! I can't wait to see Erik's final piece, as all I've seen to date is the outline. I encourage everyone to get their PCs up to 12th level ASAP so you can play this. You have no idea what you're in for!

Go, Mark, go!

How about falchion wielding flumphs? Maybe, please?

Just asking......

(Pathfinder Adventure Path, Tales, Battles Case Subscriber)

Double length, you say?

Yes. He and pretty much his entire gang are in this one, along with lots of other well-known PFS NPCs (Adril Hestram, Eliza Petulengro, Osprey and some surprises).

I've been enjoying writing it!

This scenario is delayed by at least a week. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. :-(

I don't get paid until Friday anyway, so I can wait a bit longer. But what happen to Crystal's?

We still expect it to be up today.

Just picked up on the details of this one - sounds intriguing and a lot of fun: excellent.

Question for planning please:

As it is Part 1 of 4 and is already APL 12 and double length (2 XP?), how best to ensure that one's PC is not too high level to play Parts 2 to 4 before retirement with the same PC that does Part 1?

Cheers

Jason

The double length scenario will still provide only a single Chronicle. Each level 12 PC may play through an entire lvl 12 arc before retirement. They never advance to 13th level over the course of the arc.

No XP is given on a Tier 12 arc chronicle sheet. There will be additional details about the Tier 12 arcs in 2.2 of the Guide.

So is this module off the schedule completely now? It doesn't show up on the PFS product page at all. Just wondering when it's going to be back because I was looking forward to picking it up.

-Skeld

I notice this shows as unavailable now it was supposed to release yesterday. Is there any word when this will become available?

Taldor (Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Cards Subscriber)

i wish i had some glitter dust...

I can't speculate on when we'll see the release of this scenario. My hope is within a few weeks. I have a draft of it that I'm reviewing, but the final turnover will likely not happen until the end of next week.

My hope is that I'll have this out before the April scenarios, but I also cannot guarantee it.

As noted in other threads, a very specific set of circumstances has to have transpired for someone to be 12th level now anyway, and I know a lot of people are waiting to complete Echoes of the Everwar for their last 11th level scenario, so there can't be that many people with 12th level PCs to begin with. We can wait.

Spoiler:
I hear the sequel's better anyway.

Taldor (Pathfinder Charter Superscriber)

Read 2.2 now and your earlier posts here - understood and looks a lot of fun.

Cheers

Arg! Need... to... gain... levels...

Can't wait to hear what people think of this...

Taldor (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Just a question. But why is it so much more expensive than other scenarios?

(Not that it would stop me from buying it)

Never mind, didn't see Joshua's post about it until after I posted.

By raw wordcount, this adventure is close to 3 times as big as the normal scenario length. It's big! It's actually got more words in it than a printed module does.

Because it is CR 15.
