Tickets purchased!

Wow, I can't believe you guys are already selling the tickets. I SOOOO should have been at Paizocon last year, but tickets sold out before I even had a chance to be certain I'd be able to make it.

*sigh* I'll look into it. I'd love to get a chance to meet you guys there, and as close as I live to the site there's no real reason I shouldn't be there.

Spoiler:
Tickets didn't sell out last year. Close, but not a sellout.

DANGIT!!!! That's what I get for trusting a friend to check it for me while my computer was having tech issues T.T

Master Soan

I'd love to go, but I don't think it's in the cards this year. By my rough calculations, toting up hotel stay, plane trip from iowa, ticket cost, and food and misc, I'd need to save up an extra $1500 or so between January and June.

Ah well, guess I'll have to try and make it to the next one after.

Drag a buddy along and split a room :)

Never would have thought flights from Detroit to Seattle would be so damned expensive. And if I try to use FF miles, it's 52,000 miles? WTF? I flew to Japan twice last year for 60,000 miles each time.

figure I might as well tour the micro breweries in portland while I'm out there. take a whole week off from the job, bring the wife, maybe convince her to come nerd out with me at the con.

Question....

Wife does not play so would she still need a badge to come to the event? Plus by the time of this event a 26 1/2 month old. WOuld he need a badge?

Plus new to the game. Do you need some experience or is their a FNG "table"?

The two year old was covered here: >>cliky<<

Not sure about the non-gaming wife, but my guess would be that she needs a pass.

Got my tickets!!!! Now for the hard part.....to see if I can get the time off of work. I wonder if 6 1/2 months will be early enough notice? I doubt it.

Generally no need for experience, but it may depend on the event being offered. Pathfinder Society games are a good way to get your feet wet. Depending on where you live, it may be easy to find some Society games before next June if you want to lose your newbie tag.

Do keep in mind that FNG's are just as tasty to evil dragons as FOG's!

Got mine too. Don't worry, they'll block us from getting off somehow. They tried to block me 4 times from getting to GENCON.

Both my husband and I will be there! Tickets and reservations made. :)

Where do we sign up for events?

Friendly Fighter

I, and apparently my entire Pathfinder group, will be there. We're going to make a road trip from North Dakota. What about signing up for seats at games and whatnot?

Mark Moreland

That took place last year in late spring, around the end of April or beginning of May if memory serves. It was handled with a lottery, so I'd just keep checking the PaizoCon page and the Paizo blog for updates as the convention approaches. Also, you might double check your email privacy settings to ensure you get any updates or news Paizo may send out to customers and attendees.

Sean K Reynolds

It was Friday, June 12, through Sunday, June 14.

Trust me, I'll remember June 12 for the rest of my life. :p

I was referring to the lottery for events, not the convention itself.

If you have a PaizoCon 2010 e-ticket, we'll send you an e-mail prior to event registration regardless of your privacy settings. (Such e-mails are considered "transactional," not "marketing," in CAN-SPAM terms—that is, they're part of delivering you something you've already paid for.) But you *should* make sure that your spam filters aren't blocking us.

I'll try and make it. Too far out to commit.

So, I've bought tickets to both the event AND the banquet....I'm assuming I would pick them up AT the event? I know I'll probably be working during the day Friday and may not be able to go until Saturday, but it should be fine to pick them up then right?

(I've never been to a convention before)

Yep! Someone will be at the front table with your badge and tickets and stuff.

Oh, and I LOVE hearing people say, "I've never been to a convention before" and then come to find out they are making PaizoCon their first.

That...is a very cool thing. ;-)

Haha I would hope so. It's destiny that I'm going to PaizoCon, the hotel is in Bellevue, where my internship this summer will be! All too convenient for me, haha. Otherwise, traveling from the Northeast U.S. would be impossible to go to a convention for.

Any tips on what to expect or bring (dice, books, etc.)?

That's a good start. I suspect that more information will be coming out shortly after RPG Superstar wraps up. Then events and such will be announced and we can start signing up for games, seminars, and other fun things.

Kobold

I hope I get the chance to get a ticket this year.
So I'm assuming there will be Pathfinder games that aren't PSOP? I don't like PSOP.

Sean K Reynolds

If you check the Events section of the PaizoCon page, you'll see that there are many non-PSOP events going on at PaizoCon--and that doesn't count whatever pick-up games other attendees are planning. :)

Pathfinder Society Organized Play. I don't play it because the ban on monstrous races offends me.
