This is awesome, though as I'm skimming through I noticed something that struck me as out of place, the Necro-Lord... why the whole create food and water and heroes feast aspect? It just seems out of place, like they're given a weakness that is almost immediately countered... Bear in mind I'm only skimming through and I don't know Urgathoa inside an out but if the prestige class embodies gluttony it strikes me that it would be like priests of Droskar, one would eat for the sake of eating as a Droskaran would work for the sake of working. Neither would focus on quality. But then that's simply my personal take on it, it simply struck me as out of place, anyone else feel the same way? Differently?
Finished skimming. Awesome. Pure awesome. I must further examine some of the crunch and eventually I'll get down to more thoroughly analyzing the sizeable thing but until then two big thumbs up.
yes Urgothoa is not only goddess of udneath but of gluttony... i haven't had the chane to read that prestige class but I would say this are is the one involved the create food and water
You didn't pick one up at the con? What's wrong with you people??
Mainly that I couldn't go. Try not to rub it in, I hate to miss this in print.
You and me both. I'm glad to have a copy, love the art (the goblins chasing the poodle made me laugh out loud) still reading the articles, puts me in a mood to write.

Since I wrote that piece, I figure I'll share my take on it.
The Gluttony ability is pure flavor: Getting enough food and water on a daily basis is pretty much a non-issue for anyone powerful enough to take the class in the first place. So it isn't really a mechanical problem to immediately counter it. (It might matter for Ghouls and Vampires, but how much they need to consume isn't codified anywhere anyway.)
As far as Urgathoa being a goddess of gluttony, she's a goddess of hedonistic gluttony, which means you're supposed to enjoy gorging. The comparison to Droskar breaks down, since he's a god of toil, not work. Torag says that artisans should enjoy their work and produce masterworks. Droskar says you should work because I said so, and enjoying your work means you're not working hard enough. In this case, Urgathoa is more like Torag than Droskar. If you're not enjoying what you're eating, eat something else. Thus, it makes sense that if they were to create a feast, it would be a tasty one, not the plain loaves and fishes create food and water normally makes. (And that if a Vampire or Ghoul used the ability, they'd get blood or carrion, not plain food.)
The print run was limited to attendees of PaizoCon, contributors, advertisers and those who donated before the cut off point. I can't imagine it would be too expensive to have print and bound yourself, but I've been wrong about things before.

One minor problem: for some reason, unless you're zoomed in to "page width," some of the illustrations have this weird 'halo' effect that outlines them in white.

Wow! Immora's an intern now? Lucky her, lucky Paizo.
I don't think I'm going to be able to count her with the other interns. Could you all make-up a special title distinction?
I hope this means we'll be seeing more new art previews in the blog in the coming weeks. I don't know as if we saw anything from PF23 and I'm fairly certain nothing's come out for PF24 and the upcoming modules/companions/chronicles.
Oh yes, and congratulations, Immora. I was there when you asked Erik about the possibility of interning, so it's nice to see that it panned out for you. Best of luck!

The covers of both PF#23 and #24 have been in the blog.

Covers schmovers. I remember back when you had a normal tag after your name like the rest of us, before your fancy Paizo title. Back in those days, you understood the difference between cover and interior art, Ross. Where have those days gone?

Hey, I'm a software developer too. Anyway, I was gonna say that I liked Crystal's pen and ink drawings especially. I love that medium.
Apparently me being an intern is "a thing." All I really did was mention to Sarah that I would love to learn layout and design from her. Next thing I know, I was being stuffed in a burlap sack, then tied to a chair in the Paizo offices.
James Davis said that I can call my family to tell them I'm alright as soon as I catch them up on the flip maps.

~laughter~ Gratz Immora! We will call the police AFTER the flip mats are done! ~cracks the whip~ Get to work, slave!
Gotta add: I really like that character design in the backround of the Foreword page. I miss seeing generic medieval fantasy headwear(with the exception of the brimless pointy wizard hat. I've never been able to roll with that. Ironically, I'm perfectly fine with the "Link" hat.). It seems you just don't see that anymore outside of retro material these days. I don't think they ever showed up at all in any WOTC 3.x books.
...well that was a lot of rambling about the matter of hats...

P.S. - Did you do the Succubus on page 44?
No, actually. I did the piss-poor illuminated text that came at the end of that article. I did the Dawnflower Dervish and Osirion Druid.

Is it true that they're still trying to get rid of some of the bodies Nick Logue left behind?
Bob says that's a trade secret.
~goes back and looks at the PDF~ Well, IMHO, your artwork is DAMN good! That was no piss poor piece of artwork, Immora! Keep up the good work and find us some of the bodies that Nick left!
