I think that's the one we sent to the printer with a note saying "we want it it at least as good as this."Hardback cover stock is the only way to do it. I'm so glad Paizo (and WotC before them) followed Green Ronin's exampleVampire The Requiem was the first place I saw it.
That screen sure is gorgeous. And the proper material. If yours is as good or better, I'll be more than happy with this.
Is it too late for a request?
I'd like a handle on my new, sturdy GM screen to use it as an impromptu weapon to beat players over the head with. For those times they're being dense or annoying, but not enough so to warrant a beating with a sword or broomstick.
Arrrgh, I want... but I have to admit, I've been spoiled by DM screens of the past that feature Wayne Reynolds high action art on it. This one just seems.... cluttered and quite frankly a little dull. I'll get it none the less but I almost would have preferred something akin to the Eberron DM screen rather than all the iconics just sort of posing there. Ah well.
Good thing I'll be subscribing to PFRPG -- it will make deciding which awesome products to purchase a whole lot easier! Now to go sign those second mortgage papers...lol.
I already have the Eberron screen, and I do like the art on that one. But this one looks gorgeous too and I am really excited about having a screen that's a bit more durable!
So, I see and recognize all the iconics but ...who is all the way to the right? Did I miss an iconic? Do we have an iconic Drow wizard or something that I totally missed???That's Seltyiel, the iconic multiclass character from the cover of Pathfinder #12. He's a half-elf.
Oh, Ok. I'd never seen him before. The other iconics seem to show up all over the place, but that guy just seemed to pop up out of nowhere to me!
Is he going to be shown in the final RPG book, under the multiclassing rules for instance? It sort seems like a prerequisite of being called an iconic to be the illustration for that given class in the book after all ...
As for the size of Harsk on the screen ... I kind of agree. According to the Beta text, Dwarves are about a foot shorter than humans while Halflings and Gnomes are even shorter. Harsk looks a bit too small. I guess it's a bit too late to worry about it now of course, since the screen is at the printers right now.
Anyway, I like the look of the screen overall and can't wait to get it (speaking of which ... any word on a Core RPG subscription ... hint hint ... :)

This would be a sure buy for me, if only it was in landscape format :(
Some of us do like that it's easier to see over a landscape-format screen. But many of us feel that the 34" arc of a vertical 4-panel screen is about right, while the 44" arc of a horizontal screen is just too big.
The real dealbreaker for the horizontal format for us, I think, is that since your books, dice, minis and such usually block the bottom inch or two of the screen, horizontal layout means we'd lose as much as 20 square inches of useful printable area for tables (compared to vertical layout). That's a fair amount of real estate that we can put to good use.
Well, one more vote for horizontal here, but definitely not a deal-killer. I can easily see it going either way.

I'll have to disagree, I think his action shots are a lot more cluttered, often to the point where I feel like it's all just one big blur. I heartily approve of this simple lineup approach.

No need to hint. It'll go live this week. 'Twas announced at PaizoCon and not long thereafter all over these boards. Gary said he should have it live by the end of the week.
I can't agree. In his action scenes there's maybe two or three characters and their enemies. This one has them all bunched together and apparently not even to scale :P. That and poses are... dull. Don't get me wrong, I like the art as it is but I would prefer something a little more... exciting. Either way it's still going to be purchased by moi.

I think he's in the Core Rulebook as the iconic Eldritch Knight. I could be wrong though.

Absolutely; economies of scale and all that. I wasn't at all trying to suggest you guys should be able to match that price, merely setting the record straight. And speaking of the record, I'm buying a copy of the pathfinder screen, despite my preference for the landscape format. I plan to give PFRPG a fair shot, and to me you gotta have the screen to get the full experience. ;-)

yep that is the one. When it first lunched they goofed on the tables, so they wanted ya to print off the fixed tables and tape em on.

For the record, there was one table with Errata, but that hardly seems relevant to the price of the screen. Nor was I suggesting non-4E players should buy a 4E screen; I was merely pointing out that the price of the Pathfinder screen, while good, was hardly amazing. I certainly didn't want to provoke a WotC confrontation.
It's cool man. It is a good price but for a game I do not play. Also the size of the print run will effect the cost and ya know it must have been huge.
Edit; yeah I got that however you can't use the wotc one for a "Normal " prices screen as the run is prob at lest 5 times larger then most other screens.

Let's fight about why the Pathfinder screen should be landscape instead.
Another note. The shadowrun and world of darkness screens are both in the same price range and I would say print size

I like the art but I would have preferred some sort of scene similar to the horizontal art on the AP covers. A cool battle scene involving certain iconics vs. cool monsters against a nice colorful backdrop of jungle ruins, a desert oasis, frigid mountains or something similar.
Still, I'm happy with the end result and will be getting one.
The big crowd scene is a little boring. I liked the 3.5 Eberron and the Star Wars Saga Edition screens a lot more.
Nah, what we Chelaxians want is more *DEVILS* on that screen... what is this? A bunch of "iconic" do-gooders, and none of them (to my knowledge) hail from Cheliax! If they added some Devils, Hellknights, our beloved and revered Majestrix and finally the glorious Chelish flag into the background, this screen would be perfect! ;P
