I'd actually quite like to see Paizo make this.

I've got a mental image of an adventure you can happily play with quite young kids but which has enough allusions, oblique references and clever in-jokes to keep adult players laughing, and roleplaying, to the end.

Based on that description, the first thing I think of is Carnival of Tears. You could do something that's light and fluffy but with a sidebar for more "adult" play where the Fluffy gnome tribe are all actually cannibal fey and Silky the Unicorn is an abberation that demands human sacrifices. Misunderstood Quentin is actually the hero but he wears black all the time and people mistake him for a necromancer when he's really just angsty.

That or the gnomes and unicorn are normal but Misunderstood Quentin has a unicorn fetish and his lair is actually full of little unicorn statuettes and images like in Dodgeball and he's totally creepy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CraYF9q-kp0

Sebastian would sue for plagiarism of his life. ;-)

Who's this lovecraft fellow and what does the word 'carrion' mean?

And so the torment begins.

Pett, you sick b@st@rd! What are the Fluffer gnomes going to do to that poor unicorn???

That image alone is probably banned in several countries. ;-)

How easy is it to trasplant this adventure to a smaller town or outpost?

Easy.

When should this be in UK shops? And what's the latest AP book that should also be out by then?

We're looking into the question about it in UK shops. As for the AP book, it should be out and available shortly before Pathfinder #27 is out (part 3 of Council of Thieves).

Airweaver games did a module (thier only one, I think) for 3.5 called "The Goblin Market"

It was a pretty goofy adventure where an annoying wizard hires the heroes to go to the Goblin Market (sort of a Fairy Bazaar) to acquire an item for him to free him from a practical joke that has him imprisoned in his tower.

The Market itself is very fairy-tale-ish, with talking animals, playful intrique, innocent romance, and some really odd things for sale. And a goblin who will hit anyone on the head with a frying pan if you pay him a copper piece. (The players, of course, will normally inflict this on each other).

The end has a short dungeon crawl (about 10 rooms) with some nasty, but colorful opposition. But all and all, its more about role playing.

(Also, a great goblin merchant selling rocks and espousing the many uses of a rock:

perfect for advanturers: use it to keep a door open, weight down your tent, hammer in spikes, handy missile weapon, prop up opts over the fire, heat it in the fire then wrap it ina blanket to keep you warm at night, etc etc...

Its a lot of fun and I dont think there are any truely gruesome or risque moments in it.

Items appear in the UK usually about a week to two weeks after they appear in the US (what with that overseas shipping and all).

Looking at the schedule, it appears this volume is tentatively scheduled to arrive at Paizo in very early November. That means it should be hitting store shelves around mid-November, possibly as late as the 20th.

Also from the schedule, it should be hitting shelves concurrently with Pathfinder 28. (Sorry to contradict, James.)

Our most up to date product schedule can be found here: http://paizo.com/paizo/about/schedule.

It's apparently called The Goblin Fair. There are a few copies in eBay stores, but I just grabbed one. Sounds like a fun adventure for introducing our kids to gaming. :)

Thanks, Joana.

Spoiler:
Did you pay less than 7.46 for it?

My mistake...its the Goblin Fair.

Much as I hate to send people to another distributor, nobleknightgames has it http://www.nobleknight.com/ViewProducts.asp_Q_ProductLineID_E_2137417505_A_ ManufacturerID_E_2145082541_A_CategoryID_E_12_A_GenreID_E_0

BTW, is this module part of the same series as 'Crypt of the Everflame'?

Asgetrion wrote:

Nope. This and Realm of the Fellnight Queen will be released to alternate with the next two volumes in that series, which are Masks of the Living God and City of Golden Death.

Hey, if you want to ask a question , ignore my answer, then post the same question somewhere else a day later, than that's cool.... just thought we were better than that Asgetrion... :-P

Gorgeous!

Wow I'm loving that cover. I have no idea what the critter they are fighting is, but it looks very creepy indeed. Ustalav is one of my favourite nations, so this is a must buy for me. I love gothic horror.

Yeah, this is my favorite Pathfinder module cover yet. And if you want to know what it is they're fighting on the cover...

Spoiler:
...you should read Lovecraft's "The Dunwich Horror." :-) They're fighting a spawn of Yog-Sothoth. Normally invisible... note how Seltyiel is using a dose of dust of appearance on it to make it visible in all its awful glory!

It's absolutely fantastic! :)

Who did this amazing art and that of the two Chronicles that were unveiled tonight? Mainly who did this one, though.

I'm assuming Seekers of Secrets was Steve Prescott and Book of the Damned is Kieran Yanner. Not sure about this one, though.

I'm not crazy about the Carrion Hill font, but I'll still buy it. Not to worry.

There's a signature in the bottom right corner but the resolution's not high enough for me to read it. It doesn't look like one I recognize from past Pathfinder art.

It's Dan Scott.

Looks like a great adventure....but I HATE HATE HATE the font!
It's too cartoony. Takes away from the creepiness.

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber)

It pays respect to the original pulp magazines like wierd tales, way to respect well done!

Yeah I kind of dig the font. I certainly wouldn't want to see it become a standard, but I would like it on certain modules.

Kudos to the artist. Using "human" teeth makes the thing more unsettling.

It also seems to be suffering from the gum disease known as Gingivitis!

Gorgeous cover and great font! But yea, I guess you have to have some kind of pulp-background to appreciate the font...

I can see it again.

I CAN SEE IT AGAIN.

YOU SAID I WOULDN'T HAVE TO SEE IT AGAIN

I provided a cool, weird reference for the artist to show what the Spawn looks like, I'm really pleased with how the cover turned out. :)

No, that's likely Pett's mama! Sean's mama is bald and smokes a pipe...

No, that's my dead granpappy. My mama's a nice nonsmoker and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Stunning Coverart!
I like the title font - gives it a kind of 1920s horror feel...

It also gets a little more complicated when you do game content based on Lovecraft, since Chaosium has the license to the "Call of Cthulhu" game (but not all of the actual ideas, since many of those are in the public domain). Nonetheless, we make sure to give callouts to Chaosium whenever we do something Lovecraftian; I for one LOVE their games, and they're an EXCELLENT source for GMs to go to if they want to inject more Lovecraft stuff into their game, be that game Pathfinder, D&D, Mutants & Masterminds, Toon, or whatebver.
Toon? Wow, I'd forgotten about that one. ...what would it be like to catapult pies at The Great Race?

I think it would look like This

Another shout out for the cover.

Amazing. Astounding. Weird.

And as many other words from pulp titles as you can come up with.

Ummmm those teeth look a lot like plant eaters teeth...so that means it well be VERY painful when eaten by it....

I love the cover!
