Extensive guidelines for continuing the campaign after the end of the AP? Will this be a lead in to high level play, past 20th level?

(RPG Superstar 2009, Contributor)

Ooooh. Love the name. Love the author. I was wondering who would be tying this AP off. I'm really looking forward to the finale and the extra info on the First World.

Sir Pett writes the AP finale ? This will be all kinds of awesome...

We're not sure yet. The hope is to do an article like this for ALL of the Adventure Paths from Kingmaker on. A 6 or so page article that gives adventure seeds, plots, maybe even a few maps or stat blocks to help folks keep running the campaign after they finish the AP. Whether or not it takes you to 20th level depends on the wishes of your GM, but it should be enough to allow for that type of game if you want.

Personally, I think thats a great idea

the description text claims this is an adventure for 16th level PCs- is this true? is PF going high level?

Yes. I'm going to try my hardest to have Kingmaker go up to around 18th level or thereabouts. We did that with Rise of the Runelords, after all. And folks have been asking for higher level ones. I'll be curious to see how the sales numbers look for Kingmaker's last 3 installments, that's for sure!

"Sound of a Thousand Screams" eh? It sounds like something from Skinsaw Massacre; that is, the book found in the mansion that mentions the First World and all the horrible war machines that came from there. Will we, by chance, be meeting the Jabberwock (my son)?

Fey-tastic:) I've been waiting to have a go at a twisted fey adventure for ages, hopefully I'll be able to do the other authors in this AP justice with a grand finale.

Twisted fey ... Ever since the Pagans from Thief computer game, I am in love with the "dark, sinister, blood-drinking, bone-snapping nature" vibe.

"Builds your roofs of dead wood. Builds your walls of dead stone. Builds your dreams of dead thoughts. Comes crying laughing singing back to life, takes what you steal, and pulls the skins from your dead bones shrieking."

At least we can now all rest in peace knowing that the Kingamker finale is in good hands, there will be plenty of horrifying moments, and somebody will say M'naaaaaaaaaaaaar. Oh and please don't hold back Mr. Pett, we want the final encounter to make our players weep bloody tears and proclaim that Xanesha was a wimpy schoolgirl.

The foreground is Rajali from Pathfinder #24. She has diamond skin. The background is from Pathfinder #12.

Hogarth, thank you kindly.

hang on, where did my traditionally stiff-upper-lipped shape-changed roper in the cunning form of a ninja xorn go????

Ah, that's better, carry on

I can feel an extra large M'naaaaaaaaaaaaaaar coming on Gorbacz, particularly with mention of pulling dead skin from bones:)

I always thought Xanesha was a bit of a big girl's blouse.

But in the meantime, to the present Mrs Pett's curry, which is burning in the background as I mull over your fine words.

Shall I mop it up with my gorgeous curls?

ericthecleric wrote:

Those 3 ropers you sent may have helped though eric:)

Plus, a special someone may have had a hand in the decision, I can't say in public, but I think a very special lady may have been on the phone to mention her preferences on the AP front on behalf of that very special family. Or something.

Huzzah!

Is this your girlfriend or the Queen? or both at once, Richard. Nice to see you got what you wanted ... an episode of Kingmaker. Well done.

May convince me to buy my first high level adventure since the Mines of Bloodstone.

Cheers

Yes, quickly, and when you're done with them, hand them back.

And where's my gown? I have a ball to go to!

Cheers French Wolf, and huzzah!

But, in no particular order, if we're mentioning things I'd like:

A mechanial bull
A giant inflatable cactus
Billie Piper in warm lime marmalade...

...oh, the list goes on

Yes sir, right away!

Kingmaker AP....awesome
Fey in the finale....even more awesome
Richard Pett writing it....even MORE awesome

This AP, if held up to the same standards as the rest, seems like it will be a huge favourite of mine, and my group.

Excellent ideas Paizo!

It could also have been Lisa Stevens, or Nic's wife... (Oh I'm stirring the pot there. [Grin])

Both very fine ladies I hear. Alas, the mem' has reappeared from her leopard-wrestling evening class and I must away with the curry fest!

God save the queen and all that.

Until the morrow.

Huzzah!

The Kingmaker Adventure Path draws to a close as the heroes face a foe eager to bring the full fury of this strange and violent realm into the world of Golarion....

Actually, I'm surprised that Paizo are letting you stat up Nick Logue and put him in one of their adventures.... ;)

Congratulations though, and remember the old cub-scout motto! (No, not that one, I mean the other one, about 'do your best'.)
And I have a dead tree copy of the bestiary now after trip to Spirit Ganes in Burton (huzzah!) and see that nymphs under PFRPG rules can improve the performance of bards who have them as their 'muses' (see PFRPG bestiary, Page 217) which might have possible applications given the bardic support any force of invading fey may have.

Edit:
Okay, that's enough late nights for this week. Off to sleep now.

Hush you! Do not mention that wretched name or I will throttle you with my luscious curls!

Gaaah. And I meant 'Spirit Games' in Burton, not 'Spirit Ganes'. Confounded typo errors at five in the morning.

James,

I really like the idea of a short article that gives ideas/seeds/maps/other cool stuff to keep the campaign going past book 6. Kingmaker is going to be great!

Cheers!

"Sound of a Thousand Screams", a hopeful indicator of the body count to come over the campaigns that get through to this chapter of Kingmaker.

insert maniacal villainous laughter here

Awesome!

Ever since the Skinsaw Murders with The Syrpent's Tale: Fairy Tales of the Eldest I've wanted to see Richard Pett return and add his touch upon the powerful Fae..

Whoohoo!

You know, I wasn't exactly 'hanging on the edge' about this AP. Indeed, going by the quality of Paizo's other ventures and the prospect of my player's being able to forge their own kingdom sounds thoroughly terrific!

But what tips the balance? An article about how to continue the adventure after the main plot has concluded.

Of course we could always find ways and means of doing so anyway, but this thoroughly makes me salivate with expectation!

I tip my glass to you, Sirs. Excellect!

Did you know that the word fey can also mean insane...:)

James, I know this is asking a lot but is there anyway to have an article done on higher level play for past APs even if it is just on the web. Maybe for us Charter subscribers at least.

There are only 5 of them???? Please, pretty please....

I have often thought I would like to take my Runelords group back in.

And of course devlving into the Pyramid at Korvosa after Crimson Throne... I am looking forward to creating my own adventure for that soon.

I'm not James, but I'm guessing the answer he will give is that they're already quite behind schedule, and tasking a couple of people off for a day or two to do these (and that's a very conservative estimate of what it'll need) will cause even more problems

Web enhancements or web exclusives save time on the print cycle and the distribution cycle... that's stuff we don't do in house as it is, so a web product is Equally Time Consuming for us to do as far as art, editorial, and layout. So it's not an easy, let's just whip something up over the weekend or after work one day kind of thing.

Maybe after we get AHEAD of the schedule instead of behind schedule we'll consider web stuff like this, but for now it's too much.
