I picked it up as a preorder and got a PDF then when it first came out a couple of weeks ago. Still waiting on the dead tree version. All and all I have liked what I have seen of it.
Seriously thinking about this but how does it differ from the old game. My players main complaint was that they never felt really at risk when playing it whilst mowing down screeds of gun fodder.

This one seems like it will be a lot more dangerous. To the point if you don't use cover you could easily end up dead. I have not played it yet only read it and toyed around making characters and stuff. But it seems like it would be fairly dangerous. It also depends if you use the optional rules survival points which is kinda like fate points which keeps the game less dangerous.
I just looked at the pdf but 2-3 shots by a assault rifle and most character while be done with a chance of death. So body armor and cover is your friend.
To be fair I never played the original so I can't say how much more or less dangerous it is. I just know from all the games i have played this one seems at the high end of dangerous games. A final point i would like to make is what tier you use in combat. The game has tiers of rules with each tier 1-3 getting more indepth and likely more dangerous, certainly tier 2 and 3 are more dangerous than tier 2, so that matters to.
Hopefully I was able to give you enough information to answer your question.
Cool. I had no idea this was out. I always enjoyed Twilight 2000 back in the 80s.
Anyone know if there will be a print edition of this book?
Yes they are doing a print edition. Right now they are just doing preorders with a special directly from them. I honestly expected to see the preorder deadtree version show up here on paizo. Guess they are waiting till they know for positive when it will be back from the printer. Last I heard they was hoping to get them shipped by Christmas.
I also know they have a few other books already planed, a Navel source book, UK source book and a adventure book. There might be more but thats all I can think of off the top of my head.
I agree with Dark Mistress, and having played Twilight 2000 (second), but not this one yet, I would have to say I expect this new edition to be much deadlier, especially at Tier 3. Body armor and good cover will definitely be a HUGE help in this edition. It will be at least 7 weeks, including this week, before I will be able to run this edition with my Thursday group.
I have to say I much prefer character creation in this edition. I think its much better presented, and much easier to get through, and allows for better skill sets and "uniqueness".
I also like the new history, which has our world going to crap in 2013, and covers events with good enough depth world wide to give a GM plenty of ideas of how to start off in whatever part of the world they wish.
Be sure to visit their website for some good free stuff and errata, which is not very extensive at all. I know of a multi million (billion?) dollar RPG company who fails to do as well on their books.
Plus there are some PDF's detailing more weapons at rpgnow for a pretty modest price. I have yet to buy them, but that is because I think I nabbed most of the data while it was being discussed and worked on among the fans and creators on their website over the last few months.
If I find out I am wrong I'll be getting them, though. Hmmm... reading over the offerings on RPGNow, several of which are free, it looks like the additional PDF's are things I haven't seen before.
Anyways, copy/paste this into your address window to check out the PDF offerings:
Excellent! Any way to have them show up when the main link from your advertising blurb is clicked? I only saw the core book and PDF for it.
If you mean you clicked the blog title (or the cover image), that always sends you to whatever the main focus of the blog is—in this case, it's the core rulebook. However, we did mention and link to the other PDFs in the body of the blog entry.
