Since this book has a limited edition run of only 1,000 copies, will preordering a copy from Paizo guarantee that I receive my order?

If you can't guarantee a copy I may look at ordering it elsewhere.

Olaf the Stout

bump

Good question.

Paizo Employee (VP of Operations, Web Store Manager)

I'll look into it on Monday and see what our distributor says about it and get back to the thread.

Great, thanks Jeff.

Ok, so the pre-orders aren't due yet so there's still time for me to up my order if I need to but currently I have 2 on order. There's no 100% guarantee that I'll get them but so far there's only 10 copies spoken for before mine so I think we're looking at 98% guarantee. Submit your order Olaf and you'll be first on the list!

Ok Jeff, 98% sounds good to me. My preorder is in. Now I just have to hope that I don't roll an 01 or an 02. :)

Olaf the Stout

My pre order is in as well.

I pre-ordered a couple weeks ago. thinking positively :)

Paizo Employee (VP of Operations, Web Store Manager)

Crap, I guess I'll need to up my pre-order quantity. :)

Glad to see I've generated some interest Jeff!

As long as I get my copy I'll be happy. :D

Olaf the Stout

My preorder is in, too. This book looks like it'll be a good one. The PDF collection alone would probably be worth it.

Taldor (Pathfinder Superscriber)

I also pre-ordered one. If it's unlikely to come to pass (say there are too many ordered already), I'd appreciate a heads-up as soon as possible so I can try to get one somewhere else...

(RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32)

Is not receiving one's pre-order an act of Treason?

Bagpuss wrote:

Agreed. If there is any doubt that some or all of the pre-orders won't be filled I would like to be told about it.

Olaf the Stout

With many of the new release Paranoia books now out-of-print I'm getting a little edgy about my pre-order of this since it is a limited edition run of 1,000 copies.

Jeff or Cosmo, can you confirm that Paizo will definitely be getting copies of these. If not I'll see if I can get it elsewhere.

Thanks,

Olaf the Stout

Paizo Employee (VP of Operations, Web Store Manager)

As of right now, every copy that has been pre-ordered through Paizo.com has been pre-ordered through our main distributor. I want to again make no promises or guarantees but we've done everything any retailer can to ensure success.

Ok Jeff. Thanks for letting me know.

Any chance of knowing what place in the queue I sit Vic? An e-mail would be appreciated if it's not too much trouble.

Pretty please! :)

Olaf the Stout

Alo alo!

I have been away from Paranoia far too long so I'm looking to jump back in.
Is this a full on rule book? Or is it just a big supplement?
I was going to purchase Paranoia XP but if Black Missions is that and more I'll pre-order instead.
Thanks for any help regarding details :)

Mongoose is re-releasing Paranoia for the 25th Anniversary of Paranoia. This version is a limited edition of 1,000 copies. I imagine that there will be a non-limited edition version of the rulebook release in the next couple of months.

Olaf the Stout

Nice! Thanks for the info ;)

Taldor (Pathfinder Superscriber)

Are we still looking good for this? Matt from Mongoose is implying it's basically all pre-sold, mostly to retailers (which I guess includes Paizo?).

I once saw this game on sale at Amazon. Found it pretty funny considering instead of the rulebook, there was a small white box with a red X (what you usally see when an image doesn't load) and it said underneath "image removed for security purposes".

Paizo Employee (VP of Operations, Web Store Manager)

We should be able to fulfill all pre-orders already placed provided Alliance receives their total order and Mongoose doesn't under-ship. I was one of the first to place my pre-orders for this product so I feel pretty good about our chances.

Well Mongoose Matt confirmed to me on the Mongoose forum that they have received an order from Alliance. And since, according to Jeff, Paizo were one of the first to order (and are likely to be one of the bigger orders), you would like to think that those that have already ordered will receive their copy.

Having said that, I know nothing about how distributors work so I could be wrong (but I hope that I'm not!).

Olaf the Stout

Taldor (Pathfinder Superscriber)

Thanks, Jeff. Good to know.

So I notice that this is no longer listed as a preorder. Does that mean it will ship shortly?

Olaf the Stout

Go to "My Account" and look at your order history. Mine is "pending", which usually means it is waiting for the charge to clear on my bank account, then shipping will occur.

Yep, mine is also listed as pending. Hopefully that means the books have arrived in the warehouse and my order has been allocated to me.

That should be what it means. Seems to have always worked that way with my subscription items.

In this case, it means our distributor has stock, and our copies are in transit from them. And the expected amount will cover all preorders.

there....

But from the FULL list of posts I'm reading now, it appears that there are more...unfortunately I may never get this, since I defeinitely can't afford it this month...

There were definitely more than 2 copies ordered, I know that much. How many exactly I don't know.

From the looks of it though Paizo still currently have at least 1 copy in stock apart from the pre-orders since the store doesn't list it as "Out of Stock" or "Backorder" at the moment.

I guess you just have to hope that they still have a copy left when you get some money for it. :-/

Olaf the Stout

Paizo Employee (Technical Director)

Last I checked, we had sold exactly the number of copies we had ordered, but our distributor still has copies available, so it's not too late to get an order in. (We have no idea whether they have a lot or a few—just that they have some.)

Any idea when the pre-orders will ship Vic?

I figured I would ask now since you aren't busy trying to organise a stall and get to the biggest convention of the year combined with dealing with the release of your biggest selling product ever!

What?

Oh.....

:D

Olaf the Stout

Any update at all?

(More of a friendly bump than anything really)

Thank you ole great Computer (Paizo) ;)

Yep... looks like they've arrived. And our distributor still has copies left.

My book has shipped and there was much wootage! Thanks guys.

I just got mine. Very happy.

Excellent approach to backwards compatibility (they may have done this with XP; my last Paranoia book was the first edition).

Mine arrived yesterday, I have yet to read through it yet, so no comments on the rules.

Still waiting here in Oz. Shouldn't be too far away though.

Olaf the Stout

I got my copy in the mail today. Woo hoo!
