Interesting. So, how many indicators do you get for $10? Just one per pack?

Dangit! I just fired an order yesterday. Did this just go up? I've been wanting one of these for years now.

I think I knew your brother, Al. ;-)

One three-inch tall rod designed to hold a single medium-sized miniature. Each Dr. Wizard’s Patented Elevation Indicators comes with two black bands to determine the character’s location.

I've seen these in action and they are pretty cool. On a side note, if you use miniatures that need to be attached to their bases, such as the Reaper Warlord set, you will need to fill in the bottoms of the bases so it is a flat surface.

Hehehe. Yeah, the tag is from an inside joke. We were playing Al Qadim years ago and one of the players got into an argument with me (the DM) over the rules. Frustrated, I announced that we were no longer playing Al Qadim. Instead, I dubbed the game Tom Qadim. Since then, all of the campaigns I've DM'd have been referred to as Tom Qadim games...no matter which campaign setting we used.

OOC, are the elevators hollow? The reason I ask is because one of the problems our group typically has with aerial combat is when two characters occupy the same square. If the tubes are hollow, that solves that problem. If not, well...

From the way it refracts in the picture, I would judge no, it's solid.

But you make a good point. This is a good application for those transparent blocks that large numbers of d6's come packed in. You put it upside down over the character on the ground and place the flying/hovering character on the top (bottom).

I have one of these and love it. No more figure sitting on a d6 on the side to show height. If you have a character that flys on a regular basis its great.

No, they are solid.

Our group uses the dice containers from time to time also, problem is that the most common ones are "large" or a 10'x10' and not real useful in intricate combat. The small 16mm dice made of stone/metal come in a smaller medium sized (5'x5') die container, but $20-$40 is kinda steep for THE container if you have no interest in the fancy dice, lol.

We always used a good, stable d6, which covered us to 60'. These do look pretty sweet, however.

This is something that would have been so useful in so many of the games I've played in and run. It certainly beats the usual pile of wobbly dice for balancing flying characters on!

We also have our own Tom Qadim games. A player was arguing with the DM over his interpretation of the rules and said 'Are we playing D&D or some other game?' and everyone else chorused, 'That's right, we're playing John's game!'

Been using these for over 2 years. Love them. If you are a battlemat style group then these are quite nice. I have also been using them for our airship combat as well.

I'm pretty surprised by how many of these we're selling, especially since we haven't done anything to promote them since our blog post and mailing a few weeks ago.

And yet nobody has reviewed them. C'mon, folks—tell us what you think about the stuff you're buying!

As you request Vic. I have the honor of first review.

Do we know how long a wait we have on these?

We have a bunch coming back from GenCon. The shipment arrived at our new offices yesterday, but as you have probably heard, we are in the process of moving out of the old offices, so it might well be next week or the week after that before we get to unpacking the GenCon boxes and getting them back into inventory. But I know that there are copies of this in the shipment, so feel free to backorder, since it won't be too long before that backorder ships!

These seem great to have, especially since I'm about to begin an Underwater Campaign.

I have this and I have to say I love it. The ONLY problem that I can mention if anything is that the bands are easy to lose and if they sold replacements that would be great instead of having to rig something up instead :)
