So is this a different system than Dark Heresy or just a different approach to roleplaying in the 41st?

I'm pretty sure it's basically the same system with certain enhancements to allow for space travel/combat and the concept of being a member of a space-traveling crew of gold-diggers.
Same game, with a couple of new mechanics to represent the fact that you can draw upon the resources of (at minimum) a planetary monopoly. Dark Heresy characters will fit into this game, but their skills are a bit outside of the requirements of a normal adventure. Acolytes will also lack access to some of the more powerful Rogue Trader talents, like "Melee Weapon Training (Universal)."

Quick question for the players that play this out there.
If I have never played the Miniature game or read any of the novels, how hard will it to get into these RPGs - Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader and Deathwatch?
